TMCBOW Chapter 92

Chapter 92

“Are you okay? I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have left you alone with this brute….”

The woman grabbed Sena’s hand awkwardly and twirled around like a dance.

“My heart was pounding just now. An incredible beauty, right in front of me! Ah, it’s been so long since I’ve felt this excitement!”

“This isn’t the time to be happy. You should be angry!”

Sena spun gently while holding the woman’s hand and scolded her. Chris blinked, bewildered by the absurd turn of events.

This was the second floor of Milky Way Lounge, Sena’s room.

Although the exterior and first floor had changed, this place remained the same.

“I’m pretty sure I collapsed on the first floor.”

“I moved you up here with Doctor Unnie.”

That made sense. It would have been difficult for Sena to move him alone.

“Is this doctor a human?”

“Yes. I told you I called a doctor. She’s the one who saved your life last time too.”

“Exactly! I’m your savior!”

The doctor nodded enthusiastically, agreeing with Sena’s explanation.

“You’ll probably keep seeing my face if you keep getting hurt. So remember me and don’t attack next time.”

“…..”

Chris glanced at the doctor. She looked somewhat older but had no sense of gravity.

When the doctor suddenly moved closer, Chris raised his arm defensively.

“How on earth have you been taking care of these wounds? They were in terrible condition!”

“I disinfected them with alcohol.”

“Oh, goodness! Do you think alcohol is just alcohol? It’s full of other ingredients that can make wounds worse. Using alcohol to disinfect is a complete myth from movies!”

“Movies?”

Chris frowned at the unfamiliar term, and the doctor leaned in even closer.

“So, what’s your name? I have a thing for beautiful people.”

“…Are you even a real doctor?”

Chris leaned back, uncomfortable with the extremely close proximity.

“Oh, come on, that hurts my feelings! No, I’m not.”

“Unfortunately, she is.”

The doctor and Sena answered simultaneously. Chris’s gaze towards the doctor grew even colder.

“But don’t attack her. In our situation, we won’t find a better doctor.”

“Fine.”

Chris nodded at Sena’s words and lifted the blanket to check his leg. The pain that had tormented him until he fell unconscious had completely disappeared.

“You’ve really got this brute under control, don’t you, Princess? Feels like you’ve got him on a tight leash.”

“….Chris, regardless of what she says, the doctor’s skills are reliable. Just endure it, okay?”

“Seems like it.”

Chris turned away from the doctor. As annoying as she was, her skills as a physician seemed legitimate, which made her worth keeping around.

Sniff sniff. Somehow you smell like someone from the same dimension as mine?”

“Get your face away.”

Here we go again. Chris gestured for the doctor to move back.

“Chris, please speak nicely…”

“You two are cute together. You should date!”

The doctor clapped her hands and raised her voice excitedly.

“Date? What are you even talking about…”

“Ugh! Don’t say such nonsense!”

Chris trailed off mid-sentence, glancing at Sena, who looked utterly horrified.

Why is she reacting so strongly?

‘Does the idea of dating me that absurd?’

It seemed Sena had taken the doctor’s joke seriously, as she was now muttering complaints at her.

When Chris had staggered through the door, half-dead, Sena had seemed like a ray of light to him. She had felt like some kind of salvation, and he’d clung to her hand tightly….

“Doctor, I know you only care about looks, but you should at least keep some distance.”

“Oh, now I’m being told to keep distance?”

Chris snorted. Light? Salvation? How ridiculous.

“Wait…. Chris, are you hurt? I didn’t realize you liked me that much…”

“Come on, stop spouting nonsense.”

He must have been seeing things when he was in pain.

“You two bickering like this is so cute. You really suit each other.”

The doctor smirked, but Chris and Sena both stiffened and shook their heads at the same time.

🫧

The doctor finished her examination and returned to her own dimension.

“She said not to worry because your condition is stable.”

On top of that, the doctor had mentioned that Chris’s recovery rate was exceptionally fast.

“It’s almost disappointing how fast you’re healing. It would’ve been nice to keep touching such a handsome guy legally!”

“W-what are you talking about! Don’t phrase ‘examination’ like that. It sounds super suspicious!”

All the outrageous comments about beauty and princes had driven Chris’s opinion of the doctor into the negatives.

He knew she was a bit of a quack, but wasn’t there a line even a doctor shouldn’t cross with their patients?

‘In any case, I’m glad Chris is safe.’

Deep down, Sena had felt an odd emptiness, as if Chris might never return.

Was it affection mixed with annoyance? Or just feeling sad? Whenever she saw his face again, she inexplicably felt happy and excited.

‘But still….’

I secretly glanced at Chris. What on earth does he do for a living to show up half-dead every time?

“Sniff sniff. Somehow you smell like someone from the same dimension as mine?”

Is he from an apocalyptic world like Doctor Unnie?

Or is he a weak, insignificant final boss who gets beaten by the protagonist every time?

While having these thoughts, Chris, who was drinking water, looked at me.

“You’re saying I was out for five days?”

“Yes. Doctor Unnie checked on your condition every day.”

Chris mumbled and then licked his moist lips with his tongue.

“Oh, right! I’ll use this to cover the one-day bed ticket I promised at the resort. I generously offered my precious bed.”

“No way. When did I ask you to lay me on a bed?”

I let out a hollow laugh at Chris’s shameless response. Not just one day, but five days occupying the bed, and then what?

“Wow, Chris. You really have no conscience…”

“Just kidding.”

Chris cut off my words and chuckled.

“Thank you.”

After seeing him snapping and frowning all the time, that smile felt oddly refreshing.

‘He really is stunning.’

His fine silver hair gleamed as if crafted from molten silver, his sharp and distinct features, and those vivid red eyes. No wonder Dontor Unnie was being clingy…

“I really thought I was going to die this time.”

If only he hadn’t added that last line, he might have looked like an angel.

Since Chris had left without a word, the Milky Way Lounge had undergone massive changes. Subscription fees had been paid multiple times, and it had moved from the forest to the desert.

‘He must have gone through a lot too.’

Why not have a drink while exchanging past stories?

Chris rarely talks about himself, but he could probably share the history of Milky Way Lounge since he was once a part-timer.

“How about a drink, since it’s been a while?”

“Sounds good.”

When Chris agreed, I brought a two-compartment dish filled with pistachios.

“Put the shells in the empty side. I’ll prepare the cocktail right away.”

A little while ago, a small guest had paid with pistachios instead of money.

‘A cute squirrel beast-kin.’

Would the candy store owner who received cherry seeds wrapped in silver foil have felt like this? Holding my chest with delight, I topped the cocktail with an extra bubble.

The next day, the parents came and gave me a mountain of pistachios as a thank you.

‘Perfect as a snack.’

I served them to guests and occasionally munched on them myself. Oh, how delicious.

In fact, I had a cocktail I wanted to give Chris when he returned.

‘But I can’t give alcohol to a patient.’

I’ll make a non-alcoholic cocktail with a similar visual.

I moved my hands busily.

“This is a gift from me.”

“Why?”

“Why? Because I’m glad to see you. This cocktail is called ‘San Francisco’.”

I placed one glass in front of Chris and one in front of myself. Chris’s gaze landed on the glass.

A blood-red liquid with a large, round ice cube. A cherry, sparkling like a jewel, was an added bonus.

“This cocktail feels different from usual. It’s a fresh cherry flavor…”

As Chris trailed off and tilted his head, he suddenly looked up as if remembering something.

“There’s no alcohol. It just feels like a cherry juice?”

“Of course. How could I give alcohol to a patient?”

I took a sip of my glass. It started with a bitter taste unique to alcohol, followed by a strong cherry flavor. The sweet taste was both refreshing and subtly heavy.

It was like all my senses were filled with cherry.

“Hold on. It looks similar, but the aroma’s different.”

Chris sharply pointed out the difference between the two cocktails.

“Yes. My cocktail is a ‘Red Russian’. I originally wanted to give this cocktail when Chris returned…”

I couldn’t finish my sentence because Chris had snatched my glass. I blinked, dumbfounded.

“Ah, this is it. The depth of the cherry aroma is completely different.”

“Drinking that will make your injuries worse.”

I urgently grabbed Chris’s wrist. Even though I definitely applied force, he didn’t seem to care and tilted the glass.

What kind of patient is this strong?

“Make me drunk.”

“And that’s my glass you’re drinking from.”

“Oh, sorry. I’ll leave you a sip.”

“No, thanks.”

Good grief. After everything, he takes my drink? What kind of patient behaves like this?

I eventually surrendered to Chris.

“This flavor… Does it have vodka in it?”

“Sharp as ever. It’s a mix of vodka and cherry brandy.”

“Delicious. If you can make such alcohol, it would be a waste to make it into a Molotov cocktail.”

Chris closed his eyes and tilted the glass as if savoring the taste.

I made another cocktail for myself and cautiously brought up a topic.

“Milky Way Lounge has changed a lot, hasn’t it?”

The San Francisco is a vibrant, fruity cocktail typically made with vodka, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine. It’s a sweet and tangy drink that brings together citrus and tropical flavors, perfect for those who enjoy colorful and refreshing cocktails.

The Red Russian cocktail is a variation of the classic White Russian, but with the addition of cranberry juice for a tangy twist. It’s creamy, smooth, and slightly tart, offering a different take on the traditional drink.
