Chapter 80
“Seize her!”
Before Sylvie could stop them, the guards surrounded the woman.
I turned to look for Tatiana. A smile hung on her lips as she watched the situation unfold.
As expected, she was up to some mischief.
‘But I can pull some tricks too.’
Without hesitation, I went straight to Tatiana. Attending the engagement ceremony as a saint, she was dressed in a modest attendant’s robe.
As I approached, the attendants supporting Tatiana glanced my way.
“Hm? Seems like just a maid. She must have come to serve drinks, Saint.”
“You are…”
One of them recognized me—a senior attendant I had met at the outdoor cocktail bar.
Pretending not to notice, I smiled and extended a tray with wine glasses.
“Would you care for a drink?”
“Looks delicious. I saw people lining up to have some earlier. Saint, shall we toast?”
The senior attendant enthusiastically suggested a toast.
This was the assistance I had requested—guiding them to drink when necessary.
“Sounds good. Shall we all have a glass? Give us each one.”
With Tatiana’s approval, I handed out the wine glasses one by one. The red liquid looked like red wine at first glance, but it was actually a cocktail.
A Hunter—the robust flavor of bourbon whiskey blended with sweet cherry brandy for a tart taste.
I handed out a cocktail named after a hunter because…
‘It means I’ll hunt you down.’
I politely excused myself and left. They didn’t pay me any mind, their attention fixed on the woman being dragged away by the guards.
Someone tried to stop the guards out of pity, while others glanced at Sylvie, unable to speak.
“Even that pitiful extra finally has a use. Everything is back in its proper place now. Good riddance.”
Tatiana sneered as she watched the scene. At that moment, the attendants grimaced.
I had a hunch, and it turned out to be true.
‘That woman being dragged away is definitely an attendant working under the saint.’
Clang!
Then, one of the attendants dropped his glass on the floor. He must have rapidly downed several glasses.
“Cythiel?”
“I, I’m filthy…”
The attendant called Cythiel, roughly brushed her bangs aside with one hand and stormed off.
It was about time for it to erupt. How could she not be enraged at being treated like scum who abandoned he colleague?
Moreover, the anxiety of potentially receiving the same treatment someday must have compounded her conflicted feelings.
Having seen a bartender colleague wrongfully blamed before, I understood that sentiment.
‘It must have built up so much over time.’
All that buildup, triggered by some remark that crossed the line.
Just like when I had resigned that day.
“What’s she doing now…”
“Wh-What’s she thinking?”
The remaining attendants only glanced back and forth between Cythiel and Tatiana, not taking any active action.
Feeling somewhat drunk, Cythiel staggered forward to block their path. The guard furrowed his brow, but spoke politely, perhaps mindful of her priestly attire.
“Please step aside. This is not a matter for the temple to intervene in.”
“Her fiancé wasn’t cursed!”
“Pardon?”
“And the witch is no different. If the witch did anything wrong, it was only becoming prey for the saint. Did you all understand? This whole thing was orchestrated by Saint Tatiana!”
As the thoroughly drunk Cythiel shouted, Tatiana’s expression hardened with fury.
“How dare…”
Tatiana gritted her teeth and whipped around.
“What are you all doing, not moving? Seize her at once. No, strip her of his attendant robes and banish her.”
Her enraged voice continued,
“I pitied the fool and kept her by my side, only for her to repay kindness with enmity? Typical lowlifes. Move fas—”
Spewing scathing words, Tatiana glanced at the attendants. She must have sensed the unease, as none of them stepped forward to restrain Cythiel or appease her rage.
The attendants stared back at Tatiana with cold, hardened expressions.
“Why are you all just standing there? Is this why I keep you by my side?”
Cythiel was only the beginning. Another attendant stepped forward and shouted.
“You’ve really gone too far this time. This whole thing was orchestrated by the saint. A ploy devised by the saint to torment the witch!”
“You all…”
“We’re tired, Your Holiness! Spreading unnecessary rumors is exhausting. And trying to please you all the time is torture!”
“We came to serve God in the temple. Not to slander anyone!”
As the attendants banded together in defiance, people’s attention unanimously turned toward Tatiana. Her face flushed red.
“And it wasn’t just the witch you mistreated! You harassed the other saint candidates too!”
“Not to mention you don’t even have divine powers!”
“You seduced the Fifth Prince to steal the witch’s accomplishments!”
“H-How dare you…!”
As Tatiana stumbled backward, one attendant with a flushed face stepped forward and sneered at her.
“Did you really think we wouldn’t find out?”
“You wretches!”
As the attendants unanimously exposed Tatiana’s misdeeds, more and more people drawn by the commotion gathered around.
Finally, even the woman being dragged away by the guards joined in, throwing off her wig.
“Y-Yes! I was following Tatiana’s orders…”
“Have you all gone completely mad?”
With a bewildered expression, Tatiana looked at her attendants, who had suddenly turned against her.
As I watched the scene unfold, I sipped on the “Hunter” I had kept for myself as if to raise a toast.
This wasn’t magic alcohol that turned people into dogs.
It’s simply the truth being spoken after her subordinates were mistreated and suffered for so long.
‘You should raise your spear against an abusive boss. That’s just how it is.’
I never expected all the attendants to stand up. My plan was simply to sow internal division.
So the biggest contributor to this incident was Tatiana herself.
‘I just gave them a little liquid courage.’
You reap what you sow. It’s as simple as that.
While an attendant or two may have tried to hush it up, now that it’s public, even the temple couldn’t just stand idly by.
For their own image, at least, they’ll likely cut ties quickly.
Ding!

Looking at the notification, it seemed the situation had been resolved for now.
‘Sorry for causing a ruckus at someone else’s engagement party, but…’
Snow White would understand who the person connecting her with the prince was, right?
“How dare you! Who dares lay a hand on me?”
“Come along peacefully.”
Knights had already surrounded Tatiana.
Their attire was distinctly different from the earlier guards, suggesting they were directly under the royal family’s command.
Meanwhile, Snow White watched the scene while munching on a cream puff, unable to look away.
‘You’ve been eating since earlier. The dwarves were right about you not being able to resist food.’
I chuckled and secretly popped a cream puff into my mouth. The pastry crumbled crisply as the rich cream spread through my mouth.
“Delicious…”
And with that, it was over.
Hopefully, the wedding can proceed smoothly without any further disturbances.
‘The supplier of disturbances will take his leave now.’
Just as I was about to make my exit, however…
“Let go! If I’m destined to be the villain… then I’ll raise hell properly!”
As Tatiana, being dragged away by a knight, fiercely shook her hand.
“If you do this, I’ll have to escort you forcibly.”
“Mere fictional characters, you dare?!”
As Tatiana shouted something, the ground began to shake.
“Wh-What’s…”
Crack.
The ground split open as black hands erupted, dragging people down.
“Aaahh!”
“Help!”
People screamed and fled in panic.
In an instant, the banquet hall descended into chaos.
“I won’t go alone! I’ll drag everyone down with me!”
Tatiana roared, enraged. Responding to her, the black hands moved faster.
“Damn.”
I feebly dropped the cream puff I had grabbed.
‘You called yourself a saint?’
Even if she was a fake, she had been a saint, yet she used such demonic magic?
