The Multidimensional Cocktail Bar of the Other World

Chapter 67

Had I drunk too much? My face felt hot, and I kept fanning myself.

“Ah, anyway! I plan to help that person, so I’ll take a few days off. I’m letting you know so you don’t make a futile trip.”

“What exactly do you plan to do?”

“I’m going to clear her name. First, I plan to go to another dimension to gather information.”

“If you go to another dimension, you may encounter demons like last time.”

Johan seemed to remember the time I had twisted my ankle.

The dimension I intended to go to was already decided, but I didn’t know if there were any demons there or what it was like.

“I think… there likely won’t be much danger.”

My voice came out uncertain and vague.

“My offer to escort you is still valid.”

Johan’s proposal suddenly sounded tempting. While the basic framework matched the fairy tales I knew, the details were rather different.

‘It wouldn’t hurt to be careful.’

But checking each dimension one by one would take too much time. It seemed like a problem involving multiple dimensions.

‘I might certainly encounter dangerous situations.’

However.

“But Johan, you’re a duke, right? I can’t take up the time of someone so busy.”

“Protecting civilians in danger is also my role.”

“But I’m not one of Johan’s subjects. I’m not sure if I should accept such help…”

“Before being a duke, I’m a knight. I have a duty to protect a lady.”

Johan took my hand and kissed the back of it.

“!”

I gasped in surprise, my breath catching in my throat, his gaze unwaveringly fixed on me.

Despite the light, brushing contact, the back of my hand tingled like it had been burned.

“Ah, a hand kiss is like a knight’s greeting, right? I’ve read about it in books.”

I averted my eyes, rolling them around.

“Then…if you’re okay with it, could you help me?”

“Of course, I’m okay with it.”

And so, Johan joined my journey to clear Sylvie’s name.

As soon as Johan left, I ran upstairs and flung open the closet.

Since I was leaving with Johan tomorrow.

“What should I wear…?”

I looked into the closet with a troubled expression. It was a special occasion, so I wanted to dress up nicely, but none of the clothes looked good.

“Come to think of it, I only wore uniforms or tracksuits anyway.”

I had nothing to wear. After rummaging through this outfit and that, I plopped down on the bed.

In the end, I took out the one-piece dress I had hung in the window at Chris’s insistence.

“This should do, right?”

A knee-length gray one-piece dress.

I had gotten it on sale for a good price.

I stood in front of the mirror and held the dress up to my body.

“Hmm…”

It used to suit me well, but now that my hair was pink, it looked awkward. The dress seemed too dull.

“Something a little prettier… no, wait! Am I going on a date? Of course not!”

I lightly slapped my own cheeks. The purpose of this journey was to clear Silvie’s name. My unnie’s honor was at stake, so I couldn’t let my mind wander elsewhere.

‘I’ll just pack some pajamas and uniforms.’

If I went alone, I could just ‘Return’ home every night, but it would be different traveling with Johan.

‘There should be inns, considering it’s a place where people live.’

I turned off the lights and lay down on the bed, but soon jumped back up and picked out a hat the same color as the dress.

‘Johan is tall, so I should get slightly heeled shoes too.’

After choosing the shoes, I took off the hat again.

I pondered for another five minutes before making my final decision, then put on a honey face mask before falling asleep.

🫧

I had a strange dream. Suddenly, tigers multiplied explosively, so every household had to keep one tiger.

I had to take care of a tiger smashing all the furniture, and woke up from running around so much in the dream.

“What a weird dream…”

I had run so much in the dream that my muscles were sore even after waking up. As I stretched out my arms, I saw the outfit I had picked out last night.

“Ah!”

I snapped to attention. That’s right, I was supposed to meet Johan today.

A burst of energy rushed through me, and when I checked the time…it was already 30 minutes past our meeting time!

‘Oh no, the time!’

I hurriedly flung open the second floor window, and Johan was downstairs. He waved at me.

“Good morning.”

“I’m so sorry! Have you been waiting long?”

“No, I just got here.”

But I could have bet a week’s worth of drinks that Johan had arrived before our meeting time.

“I’m really sorry. I just woke up… Could you wait 15 minutes, no, 10 minutes please!”

“Take your time getting ready. I really did just arrive.”

As soon as he finished speaking, I dashed out like a bullet. I hurried to wash up, brush my hair, and change clothes.

“This dress, now that I’m actually wearing it, looks childish. The material also seems cheap.”

But I didn’t really like any of the other outfits either. Should I have made an effort to buy new clothes from another dimension yesterday?

‘Oh no, 15 minutes have already passed!’

I didn’t have time to dilly-dally since Johan was waiting.

“I can’t be helped, I guess…”

I let out a deep sigh and opened the door to greet Johan.

“Hello!”

“Are you ready?”

Johan, who had been looking around the desert, turned towards me. Was it because of his great physique? Even wearing a fancy coat instead of armor, he looked like a knight.

‘Did I dress too casually?’

I fidgeted with the poor one-piece dress, sweating a little.

“Ah, please come in first.”

As Johan came back inside, I closed the door. When I reached out my hand, Johan took it firmly.

“I’ll guide you to another dimension.”

“It feels like I’m being escorted.”

Ahem!

I cleared my throat awkwardly and fixed my gaze on the closed door. The dimension I wanted to go to was…

‘The one where my Sylvie Unnie belongs—How That Witch Lives in a Fairy Tale World!’

Just as I was about to open the door, I stopped.

Suddenly re-reading the title, it felt off. The witch in the title was clearly Sylvie, but according to that title, shouldn’t Sylvie be the main character?

‘But she was definitely described as the villain.’

If another witch was running amok, Sylvie would have noticed first.

“Sena?”

Seeing me spacing out instead of opening the door, Johan called me with a concerned voice.

“It’s nothing.”

I quickly replied and opened the door, greeted by a brilliant light. We crossed the threshold together.

If Sylvie’s castle had been a drab ashen color, the scene before us was a splendid emerald green.

‘It’s hard to believe this is the same dimension, it’s so quaint.’

The place connected to the door was a bustling city street.

“This place is…”

Johan looked around in wonder. When I closed the door, the connection between dimensions was severed.

‘He must be surprised.’

I found myself smiling at the thought of reassuring the usually mature Johan.

“Do you have any plans?”

…Or so I thought, but Johan remained completely composed.

Feeling it was a shame to let this chance slip by, I spoke first.

Ahem. This is Johan’s first time in this dimension. Are you surprised?”

“Strictly speaking, so is your cocktail bar.”

Well, I guess that’s true!

“Actually, the existence of other dimensions isn’t that surprising. It’s trendy these days.”

“Trendy…you say?”

“Peeking into other dimensions, that is. Personally, I’m not that into it though.”

What is he talking about? Not understanding at all, I blinked and voiced my confusion.

“So…uhm, do people also travel between dimensions in Johan’s dimension?”

“Huh? That’s impossible.”

Still looking confused, Johan took something out of his pocket. It was a rectangular black stone.

“A smartphone?”

“So that’s what they’re called in Sena’s dimension.”

When Johan traced a magic circle on the black stone with his index finger, a video appeared.

‘It feels more like magic than science.’

At first I thought it was a movie, but the chat window that popped up made it look more like YouTube.

“The Harmonia Empire is the leading nation in dimensional studies. It was the first to discover the existence of dimensions.”

“Uh huh…”

I was a bit flustered. I had assumed Johan’s dimension was an ordinary modern or fantasy world setting.
