The Marquis of Rodian and The Iron Wall Lady

Unexpected Accident

Edith Argyle picked up an empty teacup with a trembling hand. There was a trace of thin dry tea on the floor. But the amount left was too small.

It wasn’t enough evidence. Even if an expert was called later, they wouldn’t find out anything. They couldn’t simply interrogate the duke’s daughter based on mere circumstances.

The daughter of the Duke of Galloway will slip away leisurely.

‘It’s not like the person they originally targeted was the one who suffered.’

It wasn’t Edith who should have drunk this teacup of tea.

The target of the duke’s daughter was clearly the Marquis of Rodian. However, the princess of the duke overlooked an important fact. The marquis was desperate for her to leave.

However, the Marquis and his aides also underestimated the Princess’ desperation. And what happened to Edith now was directly because of that.

‘I wonder if she was going to pretend to be the victim after drinking together.’

Seeing Edith appear instead of the marquis, the duke’s daughter told the maid to bring the medicine. Edith, who was just sitting down, was taken back by the word medicine, but soon after seeing the blue pill go into the mouth of the princess herself, she let her guard down.

It was useless to think about it now, but it didn’t work out that way.

‘There must be an antidote, I wonder if there’s a spare.’

Edith smiled wryly.

Even if there was a spare, the duke’s daughter would not give it out willingly. And now there’s no way to even know where the duke’s daughter even was. Immediately after drinking the tea, Edith felt sleepy.

Edith thought it was strange, but she closed her eyes as if pushed, and when she regained consciousness, she was left alone. Even the duke’s daughter, the princess’s maid, and a set of teacups that belonged to the duke’s daughter disappeared.

The moment she wondered if she had even dreamt, the effects of the drug spread. Falling asleep was likely due to the sleeping pills, but that wasn’t the main component of the drug used by Lady Viola.

“Oh, what?”

Edith was embarrassed by the heat rising from her lower stomach. No, to be exact, the heat was starting from a secret place that went further down than the lower abdomen.

In a way, it was natural. The few days that duke’s daughter spent in the marquis’s castle were enough time to keenly feel the fact that the marquis was formidable.

Why didn’t she realize that it’s useless to do trivial things like sleeping pills?

‘But this is really, really too much.’

There was a strong numbness between her legs.

Edith gasped and dropped the teacup. The cup rolled over the carpet and turned upside down.

‘Damn.’

It seems that all remaining evidence has been completely destroyed, which is a perfect case of evidence tampering. It turned out that she helped duke’s daughter unintentionally.

Indeed, the daughter of the duke would be delighted, thinking that she had fucked Edith. Edith took a deep breath as she hugged her increasingly hot body.

She wasn’t young or naive enough to not know what symptoms she was experiencing. However, she wasn’t skilled enough to know how to handle the situation when she unknowingly consumed the drug through someone else’s scheme.

“Heuk.”

Tears trickled out. She was anxious and afraid. It was unfair again.

However, the problem was the uncontrollably heated body before all those emotions. The heat, that was not finding its way out, began to wriggle through the stomach. Edith did not even realize that she was bending her back round and twisting her waist. She couldn’t even care about the movement of her body, so she couldn’t even know that the door was open and someone was coming in.

“Edith? What happened here?”

It was a familiar voice, but at the same time it was the tone that stood out. Due to the six years that had passed together, she could recognize his voice without a doubt. However, the way he sounded so flustered was something she had never heard from him before, making it an unusual expression.

Edith pursed her lips. Anyway, she thought she should answer because her name was called. But what came out of her mouth was not a word, but a sweet nasal sound…

“Heung!”

His firm arms barely caught her and held her from collapsing as she raised her head. With neither the use of fragrances nor cologne, there was only a faint scent of ink delicately emanating, but his clothes were meticulously tailored, fitting even better than new garments. Alpheus, the Marquis of Rodian, opened his eyes wide as he looked down at Edith, who rubbed her face against his perfectly arranged robe.
