The Male Lead’s Father Refuses to Break Off Our Engagement

MLFRBOE Chapter 120

Chapter 120

Ruth’s eyes widened when he saw that.

“Huh?”

Lionel waved his hand quickly.

“Trika.”

[I get it.]

Trika flew up towards the children. Then, a curtain of water spread out in the air and enveloped the children. Trika came down to the ground again, dragging the water curtain containing the children.

“Everyone is safe.”

Lionel glanced at the sleeping children and muttered. The children looked fine, without any injuries, except that they were skinny from not being able to eat properly.

Cassis asked.

“What happened to the Queen?”

“She wasn’t at the Queen’s palace. We are currently tracking her.”

[Wait! Look at that, guys!]

At that time, Katrina, who was watching the situation in the air, shouted. Everyone’s eyes turned to where Katrina pointed.

“That…!”

“Isn’t that Queen Clarisse?”

Clarisse was standing at the highest peak of the castle. A black sphere with an ominous energy was floating in her right hand.

The High Priest noticed the energy emanating from the sphere and spoke.

“It’s a trap. The children were a trap.”

“Then…?”

“That’s the real thing. You need to be prepared.”

The words were barely out of her mouth when Clarice hurled the black orb high into the sky, and dark clouds began to gather around her.

A typhoon-like wind blew around. Trees swayed mercilessly everywhere.

Ruth, who was in Evelia’s arms, stretched out her hand to Celsion and shouted.

“Celsion, help!”

At the same time as those words were said, Celsion jumped into the air and created a curtain. As soon as I entered the tent, it became quiet without a breath of wind.

“Maybe it’s better now?”

Samuel waited for Lionel to speak. No matter what, the other person is the queen of a country. She was someone Cassis and the others could not deal with carelessly. This was because it could easily turn into a diplomatic issue.

Lionel gritted his teeth.

“”My father wanted to capture her alive and bring her to justice. But…”

Mana flickered in his hands.

“He said that if capture alive is impossible, immediate death is to be carried out. In the worst case scenario, I think we’ll have to think about that.”

“…….”

“Can you help me? As the crown prince, I assure you that there will be no diplomatic problem with the Empire.”

Clearly, until this morning, Lionel was just the first prince.

‘But the crown prince?’

Lionel grinned as if he had read these people’s questions.

“My father quickly appointed me as crown prince and entrusted me with everything. So, just trust me.”

Evelia made eye contact with Cassis. Meanwhile, the wind blew strong beyond the tent. Even black tentacle-like things stretched out from the ground and tried to target people.

If it weren’t for the curtain set up by Celsion, everyone would have been dragged into those tentacles.

‘Maybe someone else has already suffered from that.’

There was no time to worry. Evelia tacitly agreed with Cassis and opened his mouth.

“Okay.”

She looked at Samuel. Samuel groaned as he looked at Aria in his arms, then nodded.

“I will help too.”

“I will do my best too. As God’s representative, I cannot stand by and watch those who go against God’s will.”

As the High Priest also helped, the Paladins also expressed their will by placing their fists on their left chests.

“Good.”

Lionel said his plan.

“Aiming for the Queen at once. I’ll pull her down to the ground, and you can do the rest.”

“Understood.”

“The High Priest and Lady Denoa, please stop them so that no more sacrifices occur.”

That meant the black tentacles were still writhing on the ground. The sight of it clinging to the tent and procrastinating was even bizarre.

Aria said, “Ugh.” She pretended to vomit and nodded.

“I will try.”

“Then follow me. Let’s go, Trika!”

Lionel burst out of the tent with Trika. Although he was momentarily staggered by the strong wind, he quickly regained his balance and climbed onto the Trika.

As he approached Clarisse, she lifted her red lips and smiled eerily beautifully.

“You are here, my son.”

A black sphere formed again in her hand. Lionel responded by implementing defensive magic without a spell.

“It’s even nicer to see you here, Queen.”

“Are you really here to stop me?”

“So, are you really planning to destroy this kingdom that our ancestors have built?”

“Destroy it? This kingdom, me?”

Clarisse burst out laughing as if she was dumbfounded. Every time that happened, the energy gathered around her shook.

“I just need to get rid of you. If I have a royal castle that is completely devoid of beauty, I can just tear it down and rebuild it.”

“Ugh!”

“Go and say hello to your lowly mother.”

Clarisse shot the black sphere upward again. At the same time, black light scattered in all directions. Lionel looked at it and then looked down at the ground and frowned.

Black tentacles were sticking out from all over the castle and devouring people. Red blood was everywhere.

Perhaps the source of that black sphere that Clarisse is holding is…

“Do you think Johannes will be happy if he ascends to the throne like this?”

Lionel coughed up blood as he remembered his half-brother, who was only in his early teens.

“He just has to do what I tell him. Anyway, that’s all you have to say? I’m getting bored now.”

Clarisse looked at the sky and opened her eyes wide.

“Come!”

Something jumped out of the sky where dark clouds were swirling. At first glance, it looked like the front paw of a bird or beast.

“No way…”

Lionel sighed.

“Dragon?”

It was a dragon I had only seen in books. If that dragon came out and breathed even once, not only the castle but the entire capital would be devastated.

It was clear that Clarisse was crazy about the throne.

“Trika!”

[I get it!]

At Lionel’s signal, Trika threw a rope made of water to Clarisse. As Clarisse muttered something, an opaque black wall blocked her.

“Hmph, there’s nothing special about being a guardian.”

[Is that really true?]

A screeching sound was heard, and flames erupted from behind Clarisse.

Clarisse rushed to defend herself, but she was late. Her left arm caught fire, and she lost sight of the sphere.

At that moment, the tentacles that were writhing on the ground lost their strength and became limp. At the same time, the hole that had appeared between the clouds gradually became smaller and soon closed completely.

But there was no time for relief. Lionel ordered, jumping off of Trika.

“Pull her down!”

Trika once again bound Clarisse with rope. Clarisse tried to escape, but her ankle was caught.

“Good.”

Trika went down to where the group was. The Queen, tied with ropes, was thrown to the ground. Before I knew it, the wind that had been blowing like crazy had calmed down.

Celsion, who had raised his tent, stood in front of them as if protecting the children and Evelia. The High Priest left with the Paladins to dispose of the black sphere that had fallen to the ground, while Cassis and Samuel guarded Clarisse with their swords.

Lionel walked up to Clarisse, who was lying on the floor, breathing heavily.

“It’s over now, Your Highnesses.”

“……”

“For Johannes’ sake, stop now and pay the fair price.”

“Yes, I was wrong.”

The Queen muttered obediently. She shed tears.

“Johannes, what on earth should I do with that child…”

Before we knew it, the royal knights had surrounded us on all sides. Lionel gestured to the knight commander. The Queen shed tears even as the knight commander came carrying handcuffs with mana stones embedded in them.

“I don’t have the right to ask for forgiveness now, do I?”

“It’s obvious. To my mom….”

Before I knew it, the knight commander had approached Clarisse and was about to handcuff her.

Clarisse quickly removed the hairpin from her head. Then, she stabbed him in the neck with a hairpin that had a sharp end, unlike the other hairpins that were stubby.

“No…!”

Clarisse laughed, spitting out red blood.

“I will need a companion on the road to the underworld.”

At that moment, a strong black energy came out of her. The knight commander, who was very nervous, couldn’t overcome the energy at that moment and flew away.

White, sandy smoke spread around. And before Lionel could even do anything, the black light extending from the Queen headed toward Ruth, or more precisely, toward the left side of Evelia, who was holding Ruth.

“No!”

Along with Cassis’ desperate cry, a bright light flashed in Evelia, which was bathed in black light.
