The Male Lead's Boyfriend Is Obsessed With Me

MLBOWM Chapter 90

Chapter 90

Yeonbyeol exhaled a long breath. The hand gripping the gun trembled.

The torn leather jacket was getting soaked with blood.

Angel lifted his bowed head. His blond hair was stained red, likely from the wound on his forehead after being hit by the flowerpot.

He stifled a groan and clutched his right shoulder.

Yeonbyeol finally spoke, lowering her gun.

“…Don’t stop me anymore.”

Her voice came out, suppressed and strained.

“You know what I’m capable of.”

Angel let out a low chuckle. Just as Yeonbyeol was about to walk past him and leave the room, his calm voice held her in place.

“My brother did kill your mother.”

Yeonbyeol froze in her tracks.

“Though, more accurately, someone probably ordered him to. Told a 16-year-old to get behind the wheel.”

A faint smile appeared on Angel’s face as he recalled the memory.

‘I want to live like this forever with you, big brother.’

That sweet laugh that lulled him to sleep that night. When he woke up, the space beside him was empty.

He thought nothing of it—his sibling often disappeared at night, so he went back to sleep. When he woke again, it was just before dawn.

The call came from an unexpected source.

There had been a car accident, and two people were dead. His brother had immediately turned himself in.

So far, it was understandable.

– But… this is something.

The hesitation in the police officer’s voice triggered an inexplicable unease, but he didn’t dwell on it.

After all, hadn’t they just been the happiest they’d ever been a few hours ago?

He and his brother believed without a doubt that they would be together until the moment they died. Even if the world abandoned them, they had each other, and that was enough.

– Your brother committed suicide in the interrogation room.

Beeeeep—

The officer’s voice became mixed with a ringing in Angel’s ears, making it impossible to hear the rest. It was surreal. His eyes were open, his ears were listening, yet everything around him was dark.

He didn’t learn that one of the victims of the accident had been Baekcheon’s boss until months later.

After that day, he gathered every bit of information he could about the incident. That’s when he started hacking.

Breaking into other people’s computer servers to steal information wasn’t that difficult. He had always been physically weak, but his mind had been sharp from a young age.

“It’s a simple story.”

Angel raised his head to look at Yeonbyeol. His emerald eyes, now dull, held no trace of sadness or anger.

“My brother did what he was told to survive, and Baek Ha-won avenged his father.”

There was nothing left in his gaze, and Yeonbyeol found herself speechless, her throat tightening.

“I found the deleted interrogation room footage on the police station’s server…”

A cold laugh slipped from Angel’s twisted smile.

“It was quite… something…”

“Ouch.”

Yeonbyeol’s head collided with a solid chest, causing her shoulders to stiffen.

“When did you get all the way out here?”

Before she could take a step back, an arm grabbed hold of her tightly.

“Did you come to greet me? I was just about to head out with you.”

The moment she met his excited eyes, her breath caught in her throat.

Today, the casino was buzzing with far more people than usual.

An enormous prize was at stake in the game, and the final round would decide the winner.

All the famous skilled players had gathered, and even those who weren’t participating found it a rare spectacle worth watching.

The VIP section, which usually required an invitation to enter, was also packed with more people than usual.

The VIP seats, suspended just above the main hall, offered a clear view of the casino below.

“It’s been a while.”

Yuhwa, who had been sitting uninvited in one of the seats, turned her head. She already knew who it was before she even looked.

Yugyeom smiled softly, his eyes curving.

The ring on his finger sparkled as he walked over, dressed in a sharp black suit.

It was something that should have been hers. Yuhwa’s gaze lingered on the ring until he reached her and stood in front of her.

“Thank you for coming, sister.”

Yugyeom bowed politely, extending his hand. His natural demeanor made it seem as if he had truly sent an invitation. Yuhwa smiled broadly in response.

“Of course, I had to come. It’s an important day for my little brother.”

Instead of placing her hand over his, Yuhwa shook his hand firmly.

Then, she pulled him toward her. Yugyeom didn’t resist, allowing himself to be drawn in.

“Did you get the gift?”

Yuhwa whispered with a sly grin.

“I prepared it carefully, seeing as it’s such an important day.”

Her hand patted his shoulder as if to encourage him, and from a distance, they would’ve looked like affectionate siblings.

As she pulled him close, Yuhwa looked over Yugyeom’s shoulder and met her father’s eyes across the room.

His cloudy eyes seemed to pierce through her, but she didn’t shy away.

How long she had waited for this day. It was hard to conceal her excitement and anticipation. In fact, she wished her father could see through her and realize what she was planning.

Holding back the overwhelming emotions, Yuhwa turned her head slightly.

Up close, her face displayed undeniable exhilaration.

“People will think it’s strange. Let’s keep it appropriate, sister,” Yugyeom said with a playful smile, his voice loud enough for others to hear.

“Have a seat. I saved you a spot,” Yuhwa said with a loud laugh, patting the seat next to her.

If Yugyeom refused now, it would certainly look strange after their display of sibling affection.

Yuhwa stared at him expectantly. But, as usual, her boring little brother seemed uninterested in meeting her expectations.

With a lazy smile still on his face, Yugyeom sat down.

“I wonder how long that smile of yours will last,” Yuhwa whispered with a grin.

Yugyeom poured himself a glass of white wine, then handed it to Yu-hwa as he replied.

“Looks like you haven’t met Director Kang Tae-jun yet.”

“Why would I care about that jerk?”

“I sent him a gift too.”

A red light spilled through the glass window encircling the VIP section.

The sunset was fading.

Yugyeom raised his glass of white wine. The transparent liquid shimmered with the reflected glow of the sunset, casting a strange, beautiful light.

The sky was unusually red that day.

Yugyeom stood, holding his glass in hand, drawing the attention of everyone around him.

As the sunset fully disappeared, the final game began.
