The Last Demon God

Just a Sneeze!

After this violent storm had passed, the entire town was leveled, leaving behind only bare earth, and not a single brick or tile remained.

As for the werewolf from before, it lay collapsed a hundred meters away. Its armor was nowhere to be seen, its body covered in wounds, and blood continued to ooze from its mouth.

The air seemed to freeze at this moment, and the entire town fell into a deathly silence.

Everyone stared at the town that had been reduced to nothing after a sneeze. They didn’t know how to express the shock they felt.

An entire town disappeared with just a sneeze!

This was no longer challenging their understanding; it was shattering their worldview!

To them, only immortals could accomplish such a feat!

“The town… it’s gone…”

“My goodness! I must be hallucinating!”

“I must be dreaming, right? No, I’m definitely dreaming!”

Everyone doubted themselves, and some even slapped themselves hard.

They had lived their whole lives in this small town, never having the chance to see martial experts. Consequently, they had no concept of their power.

Jiang Yuan’s display of power today made them feel like they were in a dream, and they couldn’t believe what they were witnessing.

“The smell is too pungent. I hope no one got hurt from this.” Jiang Yuan apologized while pinching his nose.

He looked as if destroying the town was just a trivial matter.

“Respected sir, this monstrous beast still has some life left. Please help rid the world of this menace!”

“Yes, we must not let this monstrous beast escape; otherwise, it will harm people in the future!”

“Kill it! Kill it!”

For a moment, the townsfolk all shouted together, asking Jiang Yuan to kill the werewolf.

“I can kill it, but who can come and kill me?” Jiang Yuan sighed wearily, his tone full of helplessness.

Ignoring its serious injuries, the werewolf immediately got up and begged, “Please, don’t kill me! You must be bored with life, right? I know someone who can kill you! Spare my life, and I’ll take you to find them!”

“Who can kill me?” Jiang Yuan approached the werewolf.

The werewolf hastily said, “My leader is a legendary Great Demon, highly skilled, and possesses extraordinary abilities. It will definitely not disappoint you!”

“Take me there.”

Jiang Yuan walked over to the pile of ruins and casually picked up a piece of clothing to wear.

Although he didn’t have much hope, he still wanted to see for himself if the leader the werewolf spoke of truly had the power to end his life.

“Alright, alright, I’ll take you there.”

The werewolf, with its injured body, stood up and quickly led the way.

At this moment, it no longer looked like a ferocious monster but was as meek as a little dog.

Half an hour later, Jiang Yuan arrived at a small city called “Qingyun City” led by the werewolf.

The sky above Qingyun City was currently overcast with dark clouds which giving the impression of a storm looming over the city.

Looking around, the city walls were damaged in many places, over half of the buildings had collapsed, corpses littered the streets, and gunpowder smoke hung in the air.

The entire city was in ruins.

Even from outside the city, the pervasive smell of blood could be detected in the air.

“The leader is currently leading the troops in an attack on this city. I believe they have already taken control of it by now.” The werewolf approached the city gates and made a beckoning gesture to Jiang Yuan.

Jiang Yuan didn’t hesitate and walked through the city gates. The werewolf followed closely behind.

However, at that moment, a sharp piercing sound rang out.

With a swift “whoosh,” before the werewolf could react, it was decapitated by a sharp sword beam.

When Jiang Yuan turned to look, the werewolf’s body was already separated from its head.

Simultaneously, a swordsman in green stood on the city gate.

“The monster has been slain by me, and you are safe now. Hurry and leave this place!” The green-clad swordsman looked down at Jiang Yuan from his vantage point.

Due to the difference in their cultivation systems, no species could sense Jiang Yuan’s presence in this era.

To the green-clad swordsman, Jiang Yuan had no aura which appeared to be an ordinary person threatened by the monster. His earlier actions had saved Jiang Yuan’s life.

He expected that Jiang Yuan would kneel down and thank him for saving his life, but such a scene had yet to occur.

Jiang Yuan didn’t make any movements, say anything, and just stared silently at the werewolf’s corpse.

He had originally hoped that the werewolf would lead the way, but this meddling guy had unexpectedly killed the werewolf with a single sword stroke which leaving Jiang Yuan with no one to guide him.

“Hey, kid, did you get scared silly? Hurry and escape!” Seeing Jiang Yuan’s delayed reaction, the green-clad swordsman thought that his actions in slaying the monster had stunned Jiang Yuan.

Jiang Yuan hesitated for a moment and then asked the green-clad swordsman, “Where is the monster leader? Can you take me there?”

The green-clad swordsman was slightly taken aback and looked at Jiang Yuan with disdain. “What’s a regular person like you going to do when you find the monster leader? Do you want to end your life early?”

“Yes, I have indeed lived too long,” Jiang Yuan replied seriously.

The green-clad swordsman gave him a strange look, thinking that Jiang Yuan might not be in his right mind. So, he decided not to engage any further.

“I don’t have time to waste with you. I advise you to leave quickly. This city has already been overrun by monsters, and it’s dangerous everywhere. You were lucky to meet me earlier, next time might not be the same.”

After coldly leaving these words behind, the green-clad swordsman leaped up and headed toward the city center.

Jiang Yuan sighed in resignation, realizing he would have to find his own way. He headed toward the city center.

Perhaps because most of the monsters had gathered there, Jiang Yuan didn’t encounter any on his way and reached the city center smoothly.

The city center was a circular square paved with bluestones, and with a diameter of about a kilometer.

On this circular square, thousands of monsters and human warriors were engaged in intense life-and-death battles.

Due to the difference in their cultivation systems, Jiang Yuan couldn’t discern the strength of these monsters.

Most of these monsters had similar body sizes, making it challenging to determine which one among them was the leader.

Just as Jiang Yuan was worried about not finding his target, two monsters approached him voluntarily.

One was a saber-toothed tiger, and the other was a white-furred fox, both standing upright on two feet and reaching a height of five meters.

The two monsters stared fixedly at Jiang Yuan as if he were their prey.

“We’ve got ourselves a lone human here, and he seems to be an ordinary person without any cultivation,” the white-furred fox remarked playfully.

“My favorite kind of prey is ordinary people without cultivation! Their flesh is much more tender!” the saber-toothed tiger added before opening its enormous mouth and biting down on Jiang Yuan’s upper body in a single gulp.
