The Lady is a Stalker

CHAPTER 045

It is officially the time of the Crown Prince’s leave. Moreover, if he could completely control the dragon’s magic power, he would become an even more powerful person.

She still couldn’t decide if it’s good for her or not, but he said he wouldn’t kill her.

“I’m looking forward to it.”

As she said that, she turned to face the prince, who was laughing heartily, and smiled slightly. The crown prince could be seen slightly opening his eyes wide.

At that time, there was a ‘pop’ sound of gunpowder exploding from the other side. When she turned her head toward the sound, colorful fireworks were decorating the night sky.

It was so beautiful. For a moment she was mesmerized by the fireworks.

Then she suddenly looked at where the crown prince was.

“…”

He was not looking at the flame, but was just staring at her, who had been staring at the flame for some time. When his eyes met hers. she saw a strange heat boiling in his eyes. He had eyes that she had seen many times before.

Just a little while ago, in Dragon Lair, the crown prince gave her that kind of look right before he kissed her solemnly. Did he want to kiss her?

‘…Well, he is destined to be stuck in the Dragon Lair for at least 5 to 20 years from now.’

She closed her eyes and spoke patronizingly.

“Do it.”

After doing it once, the second time was easy. It’s not worn out. However, the crown prince was horrified by her words and spoke as if he was shouting.

“What?!”

“…”

When she didn’t respond and just closed her eyes, he seemed to understand her thoughts.

He spoke in a panicked and restless voice.

“W-How can I get here…!”

The crown prince seemed very embarrassed to have skinship in front of other people. When she slightly opened her eyes, she saw the crown prince’s completely red face under the hood.

“This is your last chance.”

Hearing the words “last chance,” the Crown Prince rolled his eyes and pondered for a while, then grabbed both her cheeks as if he had made up his mind.

She closed her eyes again for the last time to meet his eyes that seemed to be somehow pathetic and yearning. Soon, warm lips touched each other, and a wind blew from somewhere and took off the hood the crown prince was wearing.

A murmur was heard from those around them as they recognized the crown prince. Even though his identity was completely revealed, the crown prince only kissed her lips deeper and did not think about pulling away. After a while, she separated her lips from his and spoke.

“Have a nice trip.”

“…”

He didn’t want to show his red face, so he pulled his hood over his head, stared at the floor, and answered in a low voice as if he was about to crawl away.

* * *

When she went to work at Distian after a month with my resignation letter, a familiar face greeted her.

“I heard that you forcibly kissed His Highness during the festival. Is this true?”

After hearing this nonsense, she answered with a helpless expression on her face.

“I’m not surprised anymore because it seemed like such a rumor would spread.”

“His Highness just keeps laughing so nonchalantly, so I was just wondering.”

If that’s the case, her image within the empire will be the worst. After the attempted kidnapping of the crown prince, she thought there was no way she could fall further, but she was even accused of forcible harassment. If the rumors were true, would the Crown Prince have left her alone? Besides, he was the Crown Prince who was kidnapped and molested by her…

Everyone must have seen with their own eyes the crown prince clinging to her and not letting go, so why was it that she stole his lips!

She really couldn’t stand it anymore. She was a little angry at the Crown Prince, who, rather than trying to stop the spread of rumors of his affair, was adding fuel to the fire.

She burst open the door to the commander’s office. But only a clean, empty space welcomed me.

She dropped the resignation letter she was holding. A Distian soldier saw her standing blankly in front of the empty commander’s office and spoke to her.

“Ah, didn’t you hear what His Highness said? He left early this morning.”

As he said that, for some reason, he was looking at her with a bit of pity in his eyes. Did she look that devastated? Probably she unconsciously thought it was unfair. What was unfair was that it was a feeling of desolation that came from the loss of the person who would accept her resignation.

She answered with a stern face as she picked up the resignation letter that had fallen on the floor.

“I’ve never heard of him going this fast.”

“He is been saying this for a few days now, right?”

“…is that so?”

“…”

“…”

“Well, isn’t it because His Majesty had his own circumstances? Why, um… I’m sure he didn’t forget about you…”

A Distian soldier saw her expression darkening by the minute and awkwardly offered her words of comfort, but her mood didn’t improve at all. Somehow she felt deceived. Why didn’t he just tell me? Looking at him, she thought everyone knew.

Why did he leave without her knowing? No, she said her final goodbye.

But it didn’t have the vibe of someone leaving the very next day.

She thought they had become quite close. They kissed twice, but he left right away without saying anything. So, then, who should she give her resignation letter to?

As soon as the question came to mind, she immediately took a step toward the person that crossed her mind.

When she opened the door to the deputy commander’s office, the person she expected was sitting there.

“If His Highness is away, you will inevitably be His Highness Raven’s representative, right?”

He was wearing glasses and concentrating on documents, as if he had some work to do on behalf of the crown prince.

She handed the resignation letter she had brought to Damien, the second-in-command.

…He accepted it with a puzzled expression and carefully read the resignation letter she had written all night.

She stayed up all morning writing that. She wrote this with great sincerity so as not to hurt the Crown Prince’s sensibilities as much as possible. But he just disappeared without even reading it. The more she thought about it, the more disgusted and angry she became.

In the end, someone else read the letter she wrote with so much care. Of course, the content was still a resignation letter.

“…ah.”

“…”

“Hmm…”

At first, he started reading with a calm expression, but Damien’s face gradually became strangely distorted, and he let out a blank expression of exclamation. And in the end, it turned completely white. He covered his mouth as if he had seen something he shouldn’t have seen. Although he should have already read it all, he reread the letter from the beginning several times as if he could not believe its contents. After putting down the paper he had read four or five times, he said, pressing his eyebrows as if his head hurt.

“I’m sorry. I know you’re lonely, but we’re not in a relationship…”

“What? Lonely? Me?”

“Are you saying we’re not in a relationship?

Why was the story suddenly brought up? It was as if she was confessing to that person and then getting dumped.

“As you know, I’m not interested in people… so I appreciate your feelings, but it’s too much for me…”

Moreover, his eyes were looking at her like he was looking at trash, although he tried to hide it. He has always treated her favorably except when they first met, so why was he looking at her like that now? As she was looking at him with an expression of incomprehension, he added,

“Besides,”

Damian hesitated for some reason, but then spoke as if he had made up his mind.

“You can’t do that less than a day after His Highness disappeared.”

“…”

When she realized what he was trying to say, she frowned.

Could it be that he was so self-conscious that he thought she was in love with him? No, even if that were the case, what did it have to do with the fact that less than a day has passed since the crown prince disappeared and that she was seeing another man? The crown prince and she weren’t even really dating.

They kissed, but they had nothing to do with each other. The crown prince said he didn’t know his feelings, and she didn’t answer hastily. That was it. She said she wouldn’t get married, but she didn’t say she wouldn’t date another man. If the crown prince had a conscience, he wouldn’t want her to do something like that.

“I don’t really understand why people are saying things like that, but… I have eyes too.”

Damien looked up at her with an expression as if he was dumbfounded by her words. Although it was covered by glasses, he was a sexy cat-faced beauty. To be honest, if she were to just look at the face, the prince’s was more to her taste… but it was so ridiculous that she ended up saying something hateful.

Besides, she never said a single word that she liked him. She was curious why he had this misunderstanding in the first place.

He looked aggrieved at her words and held out the letter of resignation she had written.

“Look at the letter you wrote.”

“?”

She received the letter, read it from beginning to end, and read it twice to see if there were any misunderstandings. But she couldn’t find any errors.

It was exactly the same as the lyrics she had written with all her might in the past.

“What was this? It’s just an ordinary resignation letter.”

She said with an expression that she didn’t understand at all.

“Why this?”

“If it wasn’t a love letter, what were you thinking when you wrote that?”

“It is my resignation letter.”

“…”
