The Hated Empress Tames the Tyrant

“…Archangel Arundel.”

Leviathan muttered towards the angel standing before him. His eyes were wandering.

“Leviathan. How dare you deceive me, and do such a thing.”

Arundel’s cold silver eyes sparkled.

Leviathan, who seemed a bit flustered, quickly regained his composure and spoke in a relaxed voice.

“So, what can you do? Are you going to oppose me now? You just woke up and are still out of it, look around.”

From behind, Hills’ strained voice could be heard.

“Arundel… Run away from here…”

“Hills…”

“Call for Mannheim… Now…alone…it’s hard…to oppose Leviathan.”

Hills spoke with his eyes squinting in pain. At that sight, Leviathan laughed loudly.

“Ahahaha! You’ve finally realized the reality, Hills.”

His red eyes dangerously lit up. And he gathered a vast amount of magic in his hand.

“Of course, I won’t leave you alone to run away from here.”

The magic gathered and formed a shape like a giant sword. Magic wriggled over the sword.

“Die.”

Leviathan raised the magic sword and charged at Arundel.

Red sand stretched around the approaching magic sword. But the sword did not reach Arundel.

Because Arundel was holding the magic sword that had come up to her nose.

“Do you think I survived here somehow?”

“How… how.”

Leviathan stammered at the unexpected situation. Arundel pushed the sword away with her hand.

And Zion stood next to Arundel. Leviathan’s eyebrows twitched at the sudden appearance.

“You.”

“Yes, that’s right.”

Zion replied with a smile on his lips.

“I woke up Arundel.”

“How…”

“The forbidden seed. I have it.”

Leviathan’s eyes twisted in shock. Arundel continued.

“And, I shared that power.”

Arundel looked at Leviathan, feeling the full power. Leviathan was backing away.

“It… it can’t be.”

“Let’s see if it makes sense now.”

Arundel gritted her teeth and approached. Leviathan staggered and looked around.

Royden, Bianca, and Lucas were fighting with ancient demons.

Leviathan stopped assessing the situation and suddenly flew into the sky. And he closed his eyes.

“That guy…!”

Hills’ perplexed voice came from behind. Arundel soon found out why.

As Leviathan chanted a spell, ancient demons were seeping into him.

Although there seemed to be resistance, they could not escape Leviathan, who had already absorbed the souls of the demons.

When all the ancient demons were absorbed, Leviathan opened his eyes. His red eyes were dyed black.

“Haah.”

Leviathan straightened his trembling body and exhaled a long breath.

Looking at Leviathan, Arundel bit her lip.

‘Damn it.’

She should have finished it earlier.

Strong magic rippled around him. Even just standing still, an oppressive aura came forth.

“Zion. When I gather divine power, pour your magic into it.”

At Arundel’s request, Zion nodded.

Zion’s power was as strong as hers, or perhaps stronger, but divine power would work better against Leviathan.

It was easier to approach Leviathan because she had wings.

Arundel gathered divine power in her hand. The divine power mixed with the power of the seed was much stronger than in its heyday.

“I’ll add more power.”

At Zion’s notice, Arundel nodded. When Zion added power, her hand felt heavy.

When a tremendous power was gathered, Arundel flew up. And Arundel, who flew to Leviathan’s chest, threw out the divine power without hesitation.

Bang-!

Leviathan, who was hit by the divine power, was stuck in the ground, causing a sandstorm.

“Is it done…?”

As the sand cleared above the hazy ground, Leviathan appeared.

Before her vision cleared, Leviathan quickly approached Arundel in the air and counterattacked.

But a huge shield appeared in front of Arundel.

Looking down, Zion was reaching out. He seemed to have quickly spread magic.

Arundel, who avoided Leviathan and landed on the ground, looked around.

‘A spear… It would be nice to have a spear.’

Attacking Leviathan several times like this was inefficient. She needed something to pierce his heart at once.

Then it happened.

Whirl!

Something sparkled in the air and stuck in front of Arundel.

‘This is.’

A silver spear.

It was the spear she used. Before she could doubt the source of the spear that suddenly fell from the sky, Leviathan was approaching.

Arundel quickly pulled out the spear stuck in front of her.

‘I can do it with this.’

Arundel, who flew up again, first flew high to avoid Leviathan’s attack.

And while avoiding Leviathan who followed, she gathered divine power again. This time, not in her hand, but at the end of the spear.

Divine power gathered over the well-trimmed spear blade. But Leviathan, who caught up quickly, swung his fist.

“I won’t let you do as you think!”

The fist wrapped in magic was indeed threatening. Arundel, who barely avoided it, fell back to the ground.

“Zion!”

Arundel called Zion loudly. Zion, understanding, nodded.

When she held out the spear, Zion sent magic.

Despite the addition of Zion’s strong magic, the spear made of icicles from the ice cave of heaven did not flinch.

The spear, wrapped in divine power and magic, sparkled.

‘I can do it.’

Arundel gripped the spear tightly as Leviathan quickly approached.

But,

‘What…?’

Leviathan attacked Hills, who was lying down next to Arundel.

It was a common attack pattern of Leviathan. The despicable Leviathan often attacked the surroundings to distract attention.

‘Damn!’

Arundel, taken aback, quickly turned around. Fortunately, Zion was blocking in front of Hills.

“Zion…”

“I’ll hold him, pierce his heart.”

Zion grabbed Leviathan’s right arm. And the sand formed by magic became a giant arm and grabbed Leviathan’s left arm as well.

Unable to move, Leviathan floundered with a bewildered face. Whether the power was overwhelming, Zion’s eyes were trembling.

Arundel once again imbued divine power at the end of the spear.

But Leviathan escaped first. Leviathan’s left arm, which had shaken off the sand made by magic, was free.

“Where…!!”

Leviathan swung his left arm as if to rebel.

But because his right arm was still caught by Zion, his actions were limited.

Arundel grabbed Leviathan’s left arm stretched out in the air.

And then,

Whoosh-!

She pierced Leviathan’s left chest precisely.

“Aaaaaaah!!!”

Leviathan screamed in pain.

Arundel pulled out the spear stuck in Leviathan’s chest and said,

“It’s over, Leviathan.”

“Huff, huff.”

He gasped for breath.

“You… you… my… plan….”

Leviathan’s voice mixed with resentment was directed at Arundel. His trembling hand reached out to Arundel’s pure white neck.

But his slowly evaporating figure was signaling the end. Soon his fingers turned into black smoke and scattered.

“Resent…ment….”

Leviathan turned into smoke and disappeared.

Arundel closed her eyes as she watched Leviathan completely disappear.

“You’ve worked hard.”

Zion came up and put his arm around Arundel’s shoulder.

Arundel almost collapsed as her strength drained away for a moment, but his warm and soft touch was firmly supporting her.

Arundel, who was leaning on Zion’s shoulder, suddenly remembered something.

“…Hills!”

Arundel quickly approached Hills, who was lying down.

“Hills! Are you okay?!”

Fortunately, Hills, who seemed to be holding his breath, showed a faint smile.

‘…There’s no way this Hills would die.’

“I thought you were dead!!”

With that, Arundel hit Hills’ wings with a thump.

“Keuk-!”

Hills let out a groan. Just then, Royden, who had come up, looked at the dragon standing still and said,

“…It seems like he really fell.”

“He’s not breathing….”

Bianca also murmured with a worried expression.

“No… no. That can’t be….”

Arundel denied it in a flustered reaction and got close to Hills’ face.

The dragon’s mouth, with his eyes tightly closed, was trembling.

Thump-!

When Arundel hit his wings again, Hills’ eyes popped open.

“Ah!!”

“Who told you to play dead.”

“Can’t you be a little more affectionate?”

“That’s because you’re playing such a useless prank.”

Arundel sighed and said. Unlike before, the atmosphere had relaxed and everyone was exchanging glances.

Then, Royden was the first to speak.

“By the way…Her Majesty the Empress… No… What should I call you?”

“Arundel.”

Lucas answered instead. And he knelt on one knee and greeted reverently.

“I greet you, Archangel Arundel.”

“Lucas, stand up.”

At Arundel’s call, Lucas slowly raised his head. There was a faint resentment on his face.

“So… it was you.”

“I’m sorry for deceiving you.”

Arundel apologized with a faint smile. Lucas quickly shook his head.

“How can you say sorry to a priest who serves you!”

“Because I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”

At his intense gaze, Arundel trailed off. Fortunately, Bianca interrupted.

“So… Her Majesty Irina is Archangel Arundel…? That’s the real you.”

“That’s right… I can’t explain in detail, but I was given a mission by the Lord and replaced Empress Irina.”

Arundel explained the situation with an apology. But Bianca was already speaking in an enchanted voice as if she was in her own world.

“I can’t believe it… I’m seeing an angel for the first time…”

Again, Royden spoke.

“So, what happens to you, Arundel? Will you continue to replace Empress Irina?”

Everyone’s eyes were on Arundel.

But more than anyone, Zion’s eyes were desperately waiting for an answer.

Arundel hesitated to answer with her eyes downcast, and then opened her mouth.

“I…”

But then a sound came from afar.

Clap, clap, clap!

Everyone turned their heads at the applause that didn’t fit in the empty desert and looked at the approaching shadow.

Arundel also did the same, checking who the person interrupting was.

There,

“Mannheim.”

Lord was walking towards them.
