The Fake Wants to Leave

TFWL 72

The 100th Charlize.

Charlize had blank eyes.

Just because of the manager of the game.

Why?

‘Why me? Why did the manager of the game bring me here?’

Charlize asked Lena as if complaining.

“Why me? There are other people too.”

“Have you seen the past memories of Charlize?”

“A bit.”

“In order to proceed with the game, we need Charlize. But the real Charlize is dead. So I needed a fake to replace the real one.”

“What does that have to do with you being the manager of the game and Dark Sorcerers?”

Charlize narrowed her brows as if she couldn’t understand it at all.

“Dark Sorcerers made this game. Ah, the word ‘game’ doesn’t match it.”

“What is it then?”

Lena answered Charlize’s question one by one since she knew nothing.

“The balance of good and evil is absolutely necessary in this game, or rather the world. Just like the Saintess is good, and the Great Devil is evil.”

“What does that have to do with my current situation?”

“Charlize is the reincarnation of Grace, who originally made this game, or this world. My job is just to manage this world, so you can call me manager too. She’s a very important person for this world. However, Grace’s reincarnation has not shown up for more than a thousand years. After a thousand years have passed, Grace’s reincarnation was finally born. But the joy lasted only for a moment.”

Lena fluttered her long eyelashes down.

“She was reincarnated as Charlize but committed suicide. By the time we got to her, only the body remained, but the soul disappeared. It was a terrible ending for us who waited for Grace’s reincarnation.”

“……so, you summoned souls from the other world to possess the body of Charlize that was like an empty shell?”

“Yes. Because this world will end if good and evil don’t coexist. If only good exists, the world will be destroyed. And the same goes for if only evil remains. It is the job of Dark Sorcerers like me to coordinate good and evil.”

“…I heard you guys are human beings who imitate demons. Is it true?”

“Half true and half not. Dark Sorcerers were born to coordinate good and evil. The power of the Great Devil is necessary to become a Dark Sorcerer. But because we’re human, we’re like the mixture of human and demon. The demons, who are born out of evil, pointed their fingers at us for being half demons. Thanks to them, us, the Dark Sorcerers have no place to stay. What a pity.”

Lena looked sad as she reflected on her past.

“So you mean that Grace created this world so that the Dark Sorcerers could coordinate the good and evil of this world?”

Charlize asked to understand well.

Lena nodded.

“You got it right. Grace is the heir to the God who created this world. So it won’t be wrong to say she’s God’s successor.”

“God’s successor? Does it make sense that Charlize is God’s successor?”

“If you think about it that way, then yes. Charlize is God’s successor and the only person who can protect the world.”

“But there’s something I don’t understand.”

“Say it.”

Lena was already prepared to be questioned by Charlize.

She stared at Charlize’s golden eyes, as if saying, ‘Ask me anything you’re curious about.’

“How did you come up with the idea of alienating the people of the other world into Charlize’s body?”

“Oh, Grace told me that another world exists other than this world. A rare phenomenon, when the red moon and the blue moon overlap is the day when the door of the two worlds opens and the souls can travel freely. That day, we experimented summoning another soul into Charlize’s body. And fortunately, we succeeded.”

“Then what happened to the others who possessed Charlize?”

“What happened? They’re dead.”

“……what?”

“In the first place, I only summoned souls that had blackened or were cracked. Someone who had a small time to live, or has a weak body. Or someone who wants to run away to another world. Then they wouldn’t have any complaints even if they become Charlize.”

“I’m not someone who had a limited time to live, nor do I think myself evil enough to be blackened, or wanting to run away to another world. Why did you choose me then?”

“Because the probability that your soul would fit Charlize’s body and soul was 100 percent. You were even playing the game before you were summoned into this world. It was an optimal condition to possess Charlize’s body. That’s why I summoned your soul.”

“My soul is 100 percent compatible with Charlize’s body and soul? It sounds just like Charlize’s soul is me.”

“Wow, you are very quick to understand. Yes, you are the soul of the dead Charlize. To put it simply, it would be easy to tell that you are the soul of Charlize, who fled to another world when the door of the two worlds opened.”

“Then I… no, you’re not trying to say that I am the real Charlize, are you?”

Charlize was visibly surprised as her golden eyes shook.

Lena clapped and acted like a daycare center teacher as if she had done a great job.

“That’s right, I’m glad you understand well.”

“Then, if I am the real Charlize…what about my real body?”

“That is someone else’s body. That body isn’t where you should be, your soul should be in Charlize’s body. The side effects of opening the door of the two worlds led to the wrong souls to enter.”

“Ha!”

Charlize, or Kim Daneun, felt like she just heard a bunch of nonsense.

She never had a happy life.

From friendship to family.

Kim Daneun lived a hard life.

However, she was happy to live by doing a few part-time jobs.

But things have been firmly twisted since she possessed Charlize.

From suicide attempts that she never thought would view as normal to being criticized for being a villainess.

Even so, it wasn’t hard to play the role of Charlize.

She blended in as fast as a sponge sucks water.

Thanks to this, people around Charlize did not consider her to be a fake.

But this wasn’t actually her acting.

‘I can’t believe the villainess, Charlize is actually me.’

She always doubted the reason for her being here, but if she put Lena’s words into the puzzle, the story was roughly correct.

“Then you must have seen the Great Devil, Lua signing a contract with me?”

“I was a little surprised about that. From the standpoint of managing the world, Charlize should be on our side, but she has completely turned to evil.”

“Then what am I to do now?”

“Go to Hell, release the Dark Sorcerers, and leave this world. Wasn’t that what you wanted?”

“……It doesn’t make any difference if I leave now.”

Charlize, or Kim Daneun, was on the verge of collapse.

It was because Lena’s shocking truth made her want to do nothing now.

“You want freedom, Charlize.”

“I feel like I’ve lost my real home, so I don’t want freedom or leave the world anymore.”

“Well, how about this?”

“What is it?”

“Charlize can become the God of this world. You’re the God’s successor anyway, and you meetthe conditions perfectly.”

“Why would I be a God? To take care of the world? I don’t want to do anything bothersome anymore.”

“If you become a God, you’ll have the authority and freedom to make everyone kneel down in front of you. Besides, the position of God is empty now.”

“…why?”

“After Grace’s death, no one has been decided as God’s successor. That’s why we, the Dark Sorcerers, came forward to prevent the destruction of the world.”

“Then I can do whatever I want after I become a God?”

“Sure. We’ll do all the work, so you can enjoy all you want Charlize.”

Everything sounded troublesome to Charlize.

Neither the role of Charlize nor the role of Kim Daneun could make her willing to do anything.

Everyone.

She was tired of dealing with the male protagonists.

However, the condition of being a God as Lena said was pretty good.

Should I say goodbye to Lua?

God must be fair for the world.

“I don’t want to part with Lua…….”

“Well, if you don’t want to part with the Great Devil, keep both the Saintess and the Great Devil by your side. Then good and evil will be coordinated, so the world will not end.”

“Are you telling me to take responsibility for Tia, too?”

“Yes. There’s nothing we can do about it. If you feel lonely alone and don’t want to part with the Great Devil, sign a contract with the Saintess. A sacred contract.”

“If I sign a contract with the Saintess, will the relationship between me and Tia become the same as Lua?”

“A bit similar. You can command the Saintess however you want. She will be like your servant.”

Lena stretched out her right arm and spread her palm wide.

Then a black fox was summoned, wagging its tail over the black magic circle.

“Is this your servant?”

“Yes. He’s one of my cherished ministers. His name is Ahin.”

“His name is so humane.”

“Oh, should I show you this, too? Ahin, return to your original form.”

At Lena’s words, smoke rose on Ahin’s body, and the black fox changed to a human form.

“He can also humanise like this. Isn’t he amazing?”

“…is he a demon, too?”

“If you ask about his origin, he is. Should I say that he’s the rival of Lua?”

What does that mean?

“Lena. Is that the reincarnation of Grace?”

“Yes, that’s right. You’ve noticed it well. Ahin.”

“Ugh.”

Ahin’s face crumpled as soon as he saw Charlize’s face.

Like welcoming an unwelcome guest.
