The Extra Guardian Missed the Right Time to Leave

CHAPTER 028

‘This guy is acting like a fool like he doesn’t normally do?’

She thought it was absurd for a moment, but a feeling of regret slowly began to fill her. No matter how polite Joshua was and pretended to be an adult, he was still just a child. However, the changes surrounding her were happening too rapidly. And that too in a short period of time, and only in a bad way.

‘You might feel anxious.’

It’s definitely not good for your emotions.

Eugenia suppressed her pitiful feelings and held Joshua’s hand even harder.

“Okay, now I can hold your hand.”

Eugenia smiled as if to reassure him that I was there, then looked at Enrique and slightly lowered her head. When he realized that he was asking for her understanding, he gave her a brief nod and turned around.

Albery quickly approached and took a bag from Enrique.

“Then let’s leave.”

Enrique took the lead, Eugenia and her twins took the middle, and Albury took the rear. Guarded by two men, Eugenia left the inn with her children.

* * *

The five people went straight to the accommodation where Enrique was staying. She was quite worried about what would happen if they were ambushed on the road again, but fortunately, unlike before, no one approached them. However, the tension on the road rarely eased.

It was only after Eugenia entered the inn where Enrique was staying that she was able to breathe a long sigh of relief.

Naturally, the ones who most sensitively accepted Eugenia’s reaction were her twins.

“What’s wrong with you, sister? Are you sick?”

“Why are you sweating like this? Are you really sick?”

Selmia and Joshua simultaneously supported and looked at Eugenia with worried eyes.

Eugenia felt sorry in her heart. She pretended to be okay, but it hadn’t even been half a day since she was attacked.

It was still too much for her to forget or calm down. When she got out, she was so nervous and scared that as soon as she thought she had reached a safe place, she acted carelessly.

‘The kids will be agitated.’

Eugenia bit the delicate flesh in her mouth once, then strengthened her body again and stood upright. She smiled as if nothing had happened and wiped the cold sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand.

“Hey, it’s no big deal. It’s because I’m a little tired from wandering around alone today.”

Selmia looked up at Eugenia with her sorrowful eyes and hugged her waist with all her strength.

“Thank you for buying me candy even though it was hard.”

“It’s no big deal.”

But Joshua’s suspicious eyes did not go away easily.

“Are you really okay? If it hurts, tell me quickly.”

“It’s really okay. why? Are you going to leave me if I’m sick?”

She said, giggling playfully. Because she didn’t want to worry them. Then Joshua’s face turned bright red, as if he had a fever.

“You…! No, but how does my sister view me…!”

“It’s a joke. That means it’s okay.”

When Eugenia playfully comforted her, Joshua huffed indignantly and turned his head away. The boy scratched the back of his head and muttered somewhat sharply.

“It’s okay. Unless it hurts. If you are in pain, don’t foolishly endure it… You must say it.”

“Yes, I will.”

Joshua nodded at her.

This roughly concludes the questions and answers related to my condition. Eugenia was finally able to secretly let out a sigh, as if she had taken a break. But then she suddenly made eye contact with Enrique.

It seemed like he had been watching her the whole time.

Eugenia smiled vaguely in response to the look in her eyes that seemed to be somehow resolving her inner thoughts.

‘Please keep what happened earlier a secret.’

Enrique turned his gaze, as if he had heard her earnest wish. Strangely enough, it occurred to Eugenia that he seemed to have understood what she had said in her mind. Sure enough, Enrique opened his mouth softly as if he wanted to change the subject.

“Go up. I will show you a room for three people.”

“Ah yes!”

Eugenia answered, deliberately raising her voice. Selmia seemed to be quite excited about her new room, so she let go of Eugenia’s waist and quickly became excited.

“New room! New room! I’m looking forward to it!”

Selmia was the first to run up the stairs, hopping like a rabbit. Joshua and Eugenia followed one after another. The steps stopped on the second floor.

“You can use the room next to Albury.”

As if waiting for Enrique to finish speaking, Albury opened the door to the room next to the room he was using.

“Here we go. I hope you like it.”

Selmia was the first to rush into the room. When the little lady came inside, her eyes widened when she saw the interior.

“Omg!”

She even covered her lips with her two small hands. A blush appeared on her cheeks, and her golden eyes were shining brightly.

“Kyaa! Shu chou! Come and check this out! It’s really big!”

“Hmph, at least it’s a motel room. People are making such a fuss about how wide it is… uh…? Is it spacious?”

Joshua, who followed her with an expression of disinterest, could no longer be sarcastic and bit her lip.

‘What on earth is going on in the room that makes me so excited?’

Since Albery’s room was a mess, Eugenia actually didn’t have much expectations.

‘Of course, the furniture and the like will be in much better condition than where we stayed.’

But other than that, she didn’t think she’s any different. Eugenia was the last to enter her room, followed by her children. And…

“Wow.”

She, too, let out her exclamation. That was because it was twice as big as the inn the three of them had stayed in up to this point. Moreover, there were three beds according to the number of guests.

The bedding was clean and there was even a bathroom. At this point, she couldn’t help but think that it could be compared to the lord’s room. Of course, it was nothing compared to a guest room in a noble house, but compared to what the three of them had used so far, it was like heaven, so it was a worthy comparison.

“And! It’s really good!”

An excited Selmia ran over and climbed onto her bed.

“It’s so fluffy! It’s like a cloud!”

Joshua went to the bathroom and repeatedly opened and closed the door, pretending not to be interested.

“Um, well… If you look at it positively, it seems like a really good thing.”

Looking at the twins like that, Eugenia had a bitter smile on her lips.

‘These kids are real.’

Had he completely forgotten the luxurious room he used at the Marquis of Carreyton? Or maybe she was just getting used to that new, shabby inn room.

Seeing her favorite twins like this, even though she was in poor condition compared to her own room, made Eugenia feel a little bitter in her taste. At that time, Albery and Enrique followed the three into the room.

Albery said in a friendly manner, putting down two bags near the closet.

“I prepared it in a hurry, but I don’t know if you’ll like it.”

“In the heart… Listen every time. It’s too much.”

“Thank you for your thoughts, Miss Eugenia. If you need anything else or have any questions, you can always ask me.”

“I will. Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Albery.”

Enrique stepped in and added a word.

“Then let’s start by packing up our bags. Afterwards, Miss Eugenia came up to my room with Albery. We’ll have dinner together later.”

Only after seeing Eugenia nod her head did Enrique turn around with his usual expressionless face. Albury nodded at her several times with a humorous smile on his face and quietly closed the door. But Albury’s smile vanished with the sound of the door closing.

He came close behind Enrique. Then he whispered to his master in a voice barely audible.

“Certainly, it doesn’t seem like his relationship with the kids is bad. The attitude towards people is also quite relaxed. If she was really a kidnapper, I don’t think she would have complied so well.”

Enrique nodded briefly as if he agreed and sighed lightly.

“That’s it. There’s no need to dig into that anymore. Since we decided to go on the same boat anyway, we must do our best to protect her safety.”

“All right.”

Albury, who had been answering seriously, suddenly stretched her arms.

“OMG! I can finally open this damn harland.”

Enrique, who heard her mumbling as if she was relieved, silently walked towards her room and added a word.

“Okay, I have to go now.”

The voice was somehow weak. However, as soon as Enrique finished those short words, he pursed her lips and swallowed the sigh that was about to escape without her knowing. She looked quite the opposite of Albury, who was excited about going back.
