The Duke and Duchess' Divorce Circumstances

CHAPTER 030: Affectionate Newlyweds

Ray, who had been half asleep, suddenly woke up to the sound of the door opening.

There were maids standing guard in front of the door, so it couldn’t have been opened without warning, so he must have misheard. But then he saw something in his blurry vision.

“…What is it?”

In the slightly dark room with the lights half off, something pale and blue was approaching the sofa. Ray rubbed her eyes and got up.

“Rael?”

As soon as Ramiel stopped walking, Ray remembered her outfit.

“Huh, huh?”

And soon, realizing her situation, she quickly covered her exposed chest with both arms.

“Gyaaaaaaah! Aaaaah!”

The maids outside hurriedly came into the room at Ray’s scream and asked.

“Madam! What’s going on?”

“Are you two okay?”

Ramiel quickly walked over and shouted, covering Ray with his body.

“Don’t come in!”

“Yes?”

The two stopped at the master’s order.

“Turn around and get out right now. Nothing’s wrong.”

The two left the break room without answering at the master’s fierce order and closed the door.

“Ahhhhhh.”

The quiet break room was filled with Ray’s sighs and cries.

“Did you see? Rael, did you see?”

“What do you mean?”

“What do I mean! I don’t know, aaah!”

Ray cried sadly and hit Ramiel’s chest with her fist.

“Why are you coming in here? Ohhhhhhh. Ohhh. I’m not going to run away. Ohhhhh.”

Ramiel had come to rest but was suddenly met with Ray’s tearful tantrum. He had immediately dismissed the maids when he saw her naked, but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t quite understand the current situation.

‘What on earth was this woman doing here? Judging from the fact that she was naked… That doesn’t seem to be the case.’

The room was very small and there seemed to be no space for anyone to hide. Even if someone had been there, the only way to hide would have been to jump out the window, but since there was no time for that, it seems that Ray was the only one resting like this.

“Ugh. What should I do! Hey, Rael. How much did you see?”

Ray asked again, sniffling and clinging to Ramiel’s arms to cover her body as much as possible.

“I didn’t see it.”

“Lies! You saw everything.”

“I really didn’t see it, so calm down and get dressed.”

It was true that the lighting inside was darker than outside, so he couldn’t see the situation at a glance.

When he realized that the white thing on the sofa was Ray, her chest was covered by her two arms. It was a precarious and strange pose, but it was true that he didn’t see it.

“Ugh, ugh! You saw everything! What do I do?”

Ray kept hitting Ramiel’s chest with her fists, causing the dress hanging on her waist to slowly slide down.

“It was dark, so I couldn’t see it. You can say I didn’t recognize Ray at first.”

Ramiel answered, grabbing the hem of the flowing dress. He felt Ray flinch at his touch.

“If you want to show me something more, keep crying, and if not, calm down.”

Ray slowly came to her senses at Ramiel’s calm tone. Ramiel wasn’t the type of person to do anything about seeing a woman’s naked body, and even if he did, he would definitely say something.

‘No, a man like this would have seen enough to be bored. What rumors about Ramiel’s women were there? Were there any?’

Come to think about it, there was no room for rumors about Ramiel to spread. They were hidden in the Ruivan mansion the whole time, and only came out and were used as battle words during the subjugation war.

She felt sad for no reason. The child who was looked down upon has grown up so well. How proud must his deceased mother be to see Ramiel now.

“…I’ve calmed down.”

She calmed down as he recalled the past of the owner of the chest.

“Thank you, Rael, no, Ramiel.”

“Is that okay now?”

“I’m sorry.”

Ray still had her head bowed, but Ramiel somehow felt like he knew her expression without looking.

“There…”

Ray hesitantly opened her mouth, pulling Ramiel’s clothes slightly.

“That, there, that, so, uh, my clothes… can you put them on?”

She had never thought of putting them on, and only thought of taking them off, and that’s what happened. These clothes were tied at the back with strings, so she couldn’t put them on by herself. It was embarrassing to ask Ramiel to put them on, but since he was the only person here at the moment, there was nothing he could do.

After their lips met, Ramiel couldn’t even look at her face properly, but it felt like there was another reason for it.

“Pull this a little. Pull it tight, and then there’s a small ring on the side, so you can hang it and tie it.”

Ray grabbed the drawstring of the dress on her back and shook it as she requested. She felt Ramiel’s gaze stinging her cheek, and her face heated up again.

“Ugh, Ramiel, it’s too tight.”

At Ray’s request, he loosened the string again.

“Why were you taking off your clothes?”

Ramiel, who had been putting on the dress as Ray had told her, let out a small sigh and obediently asked what he had been curious about.

“Uh, that’s… I can’t breathe. My insides feel like they’re twisting and I feel like I’m going to throw up, so I took off my corset.”

After hearing Ray’s words, Ramiel found the corset thrown in the corner of the room.

“I had to take off my dress to take that off, so things turned out like this.”

Thanks to the corset being removed, the dress had some room left, making it much more comfortable than when she first came.

“Whoa. Wow, it’s so comfortable. This dress was originally this comfortable.”

Ray’s cheeks sparkled with a liveliness that was different from embarrassment.

“Thank you, Rael. And I’m sorry for hitting you earlier. I was so surprised.”

Rael and Ramiel, their titles kept getting mixed up, but Ramiel didn’t seem to realize it. Ramiel was also getting used to her calling him Rael even when they were alone.

“I think we just greeted each other a little while ago.”

Ray’s chest pounding was so minor that it wasn’t even shocking, and he didn’t need to apologize. He also knew that she was surprised and waved her arms, so he didn’t feel bad enough to apologize twice.

“You came to rest? I’ll go now.”

Unable to meet his eyes again, Ray lowered her gaze and slowly headed towards the break room door.

“Ray.”

“Yes?”

“The dress is about to fall down.”

“Oh my!”

Ray grabbed the loosened dress with his hand.

“Ramiel, is this really tight?”

“Didn’t Ray say it was too tight?”

“What kind of person is this without a middle ground?”

Ramiel laughed at Ray’s appearance of not even making eye contact and just saying everything he wanted to say.

“Rael, is it hard to control your strength?”

“I don’t think I’ve ever used this much strength before. Is this enough?”

“Tighten it a little more.”

At that moment, a small thud was heard and Ramiel’s hand felt loose behind his back.

“No way…”

“It broke.”

“Ugh!”

It was a scary sound. The makeshift madam ruined the dress that had been passed down through generations!

‘No, no. It’s Ramiel’s fault, not mine!’

Even as she thought this, she couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat.

“The family dress is said to have a preservation spell! Why did it break?”

“Hmm. That’s right. Was it just the fabric of the dress itself that was being used?”

The dress that had caused such a stir as the family dress was ruined so pointlessly by the hands of the current head of the family. Of course, the drawstring could have easily been replaced with a new one, but since Ray looked so surprised, Ramiel reacted as if it was a big deal, wondering how he would react.

“What should I do? If Wilpoff finds out, I won’t be able to stop him either.”

“Oh, what should I do?”

Thinking about that unspoken pressure and momentum, his head was already starting to ache.

Ray’s face turned pale, then blue, then red, and then the wrinkles between her eyebrows disappeared as if she had found the answer. She was a woman with such a colorful expression.

Ray, who had been desperately searching for a way to tease Wilpoff without even realizing that Ramiel was watching with an excited expression, came to a conclusion.

‘No, no. This is Rael’s fault, so why am I scared?’

It seemed like it was becoming a habit to automatically get scared when she heard the word butler.

“Tell Wilpoff clearly. This is Ramiel’s doing.”

It was a boring answer for a conclusion she had reached after much thought.

“Even if I said it was my doing, I don’t know if he would believe it.”

Ramiel hit the nail on the head. Yes, that’s right. Wilpoff was a great man who could do that.

“Rael, just actively appeal to the truth. I really did nothing wrong, oh my!”

Ray quickly grabbed the half-flowing dress and stomped her feet.

“What should I do? I have to go outside right now.”

The flowing dress momentarily erased the butler from Ray’s mind.

“Why are you worried? There’s a royal costume maker. There must be over a hundred people who can fix the dress.”

“Can we use the costume maker here?”

Ray asked with a startled face and looked at Ramiel, then flinched and looked down again. It was still awkward to look at Ramiel’s face properly.

“Since it’s an emergency, the crown princess will easily give permission for the costume repair.”

“Well, then I’ll ask the two people outside to find a temporary solution and go get permission. You two, come in for a moment.”

After a moment of hesitation, the door opened.

The bright light from the hallway streamed in through the open door, brightening the interior. Then, four noble ladies were seen behind the two maids standing in front of the door.

They turned their gazes to the maids, and were startled when they discovered that the newlywed couple was alone in the darker interior, wearing loose clothing.

“We were just going to take a short break in a quiet place…”

“I wondered where you two had gone, and here you were.”

“Oh my, please be quiet.”

The nuance of the four people seemed to indicate that the newlyweds had a heated moment in the secret room.

“Huh? What are you talking about…”

“What are you doing? We should get out of here quickly.”

Before Ray could finish speaking, the four of them quickly disappeared into another break room with expressions like they had caught a great scoop. All that remained was an awkward atmosphere that gradually encroached upon the surroundings.

“…Um, there’s something wrong with my dress.”

It was a topic that was even more awkward to talk about because of the four people who disappeared.

“What’s going on?”

El asked even more cautiously, but for some reason, Ray felt dizzy as she tried to answer.

“The string that holds the dress in broke. Rael couldn’t control his strength…”

It was an attempt to appeal that the damage to the dress was not his fault but Ramiel’s fault, but it ended up sounding dirty because of the atmosphere.

Ray kept her mouth shut. It seemed like it would be weird if she said one more word.

“Madam, I’ll go to the dressing room for a moment.”

As Kay left the break room to find a string or pin to temporarily hold the dress in place, El followed suit, hurriedly informing the dressing room of the current situation and requesting their use. It was a step that showed the determination to never break the couple’s cozy atmosphere.

“…Nothing goes my way.”

Ray sighed as she blankly looked at the backs of the two. When she had initially planned to throw away the wedding, things that she had never expected were happening one after another.
