The Duke and Duchess' Divorce Circumstances

CHAPTER 016: Berni (2)

“That’s right, it’s a villa.”

“Yes? What do you mean? What’s wrong with the villa?”

In this respect, it was obvious that Ray was not a noblewoman.

A ‘nobles’ villa’ was a space with the meaning of getting out of a mansion with many people and living a rich married life as a couple, and having fun together. In the case of an affair rather than an actual couple, the villa was also a place where people could enjoy themselves while avoiding public attention. Although bigamy or a spouse’s affair was not permitted, couples who entered into a strategic marriage through arranged marriages often had their minds elsewhere. Therefore, among the nobles of Ravidon, there were quite a few people who built villas outside the capital in quiet places with beautiful scenery and no people to avoid the attention of those around them, and enjoyed it with lovers with each other’s connivance. However, the villa did not only function as a space for extramarital affairs. There were cases where the couple enjoyed going out to the villa because they were on good terms, and there were many cases where the couple came to improve their relationship.

“Usually, people come to the villa to socialize.”

Ray looked puzzled at the use of the noble villa. Of course she didn’t know.

‘Nobles are beyond imagination.’

“Ah, so Ramiel came because of that. Because we are a loving couple.”

Thanks to Ramiel’s companionship, she suddenly found herself sleeping in one room and one bed tonight. She was so glad she only planned to stay for one day.

‘Huh? One bed?’

Ray was startled and looked around the surrounding facilities to see if there was any other place for people to sleep other than the bed.

“Phew, that’s a relief.”

That spacious and large sofa would probably fit one adult man.

“What are you glad about?”

“The sofa is big.”

Ramiel immediately understood what those words meant, but he pretended not to know and sat on the bed with a calm face. It was something he wouldn’t normally have done, but he did it on purpose because he was curious to see how Ray would react. Ray, who was taken aback by Ramiel’s actions, opened her eyes wide and flopped down on the bed. The flower petals on the bed fluttered into the sky and fell on Ray’s body.

“No way, no way, His Excellency the prospective Duke is against the Lady, right?”

She said that while throwing herself away. As expected, Ray Alexis exceeded his expectations.

When Ramiel lay down on the bed, Ray opened her mouth.

“Ramiel. Do not do this. It’s really good when you break up in a cool way. And Ramiel is not this kind of person.”

As Ramiel lay down, the fluttering flower petals once again stuck to Ray’s lips.

“Ramiel. Ramiel! Are you really, really going to sleep here? Is it so?”

Ray didn’t even know what was on Ramiel’s lips due to his unexpected actions.

“I think three people can sleep comfortably, so what’s the problem with two people?”

“That’s not the problem!”

At that time, there was a knock on the door.

“It’s Taylor.”

If a couple who came to visit the villa went into the bedroom, it was the same as telling them not to disturb. However, it had only been a while since the future Duke and Duchess had entered, and Taylor was able to knock on the door without any hesitation because he knew that the couple was only pretending. However, when Ramiel told him to come in, he entered the room and stopped at the sight he saw.

‘What is this?’

Ray was lying face down on top of the master’s head, who was lying with his legs out of the bed. It didn’t look strange or friendly, but it wasn’t like it was nothing.

‘Why is Ramiel lying in the same bed as Ray Alexis? What’s happening?’

After Ray came to Ruivan, Taylor’s eyes often caused earthquakes. It was like that now too.

Ramiel had ‘human myelophobia’. He was merciless towards anyone who was not within his boundaries. He especially avoided shaking hands or making any small contact with people he didn’t like, and he was a person who didn’t even like being in the same space. For that reason, one of Ramiel’s essentials for going out was gloves. The fact that he was in the ‘same bed’ with Ray Alexis meant that she liked Ramiel more than he thought.

“What’s going on?”

Ramiel asked while lying down.

“Charmaine asked if I should upload Berni’s administrative report to the master. As you know, there are various things happening due to the previous bridge renovation and repairs, so it seems like they want to report to you in person.”

“I’ll go now.”

Ramiel got up and got out of bed. The wind made the flower petals on his body fall off as if someone had scattered them from the sky. Ray unconsciously opened her mouth at the unrealistic beauty and the background that resembled a baptism of flower petals celebrating the coming of an angel. It was the same with Taylor. He barely managed to close his mouth. He’s someone he had been watching for years, but every time he saw a scene like this, he was filled with admiration. Ramiel seemed to renew his beauty every day.

Taylor came to his senses when Ramiel frowned slightly, asking him what he was doing.

‘Let’s not forget. There is something black inside this white angel.’

In fact, Charmaine said she would never disturb the couple’s good time and that she would give a brief report sometime in the morning before they left tomorrow. But of course there would be no fun times for the couple. So Taylor quickly left the office, saying he would report to his master. And the sight he saw made him wonder if Charmaine was about 10% right.

“Come back safely. Do you have to attend the meeting properly and clearly? You can’t just call it a vacation home.”

Only Taylor next to him could see Ramiel quietly chuckling at Ray’s strange greeting and advice.

* * *

She thought it was morning as she saw the darkness outside the window fading. Thanks to Ramiel not returning until late, Ray was able to use the bathroom alone and sleep on the bed alone. She felt burdened by the looks in the servants’ pitiful eyes at the lady left alone in the bedroom, but she was much better than being with Ramiel.

The villas of nobles were fearsome. The couple also shares a bathroom. For the trick-or-treating couple, it was very fortunate that Ramiel was busy.

Ray took a sip of water on the table next to the bed and turned around.

“…huh?”

She was surprised at the incredible sight before her eyes. An angel was lying down with his eyes closed.

‘What. Did I die in my sleep?’

She couldn’t have slept in the same bed as Ramiel, whom he hated, so this must be an angel in the sky.

“I guess I committed less sins than I thought. I thought I was going to hell for teasing people, but an angel came out to meet me.”

Ramiel burst out laughing at Ray’s strange repentance. Ray’s heart dropped as he slowly opened his eyes.

It was like watching the sun rise. The faintly visible golden brilliance gradually expands and sparkles, and soon captures the image of Ray.

“…Lord Ramiel.”

His heart-throbbing handsome face was looking at her with a smile on his face, and she felt like this must be heaven.

“Yes, Ray.”

“When did you come?”

“Not long ago.”

The story was that he stayed up all night.

“You must be tired. You couldn’t sleep at all, right?”

Ray suddenly stood up. The flower petals that were still on her bed rolled from her body onto Ramiel’s body.

“I’ve had enough sleep, so I’ll get out of the way. Ramiel, please rest.”

Ray, with red flower petals fluttering over her white pajamas, quickly got out of bed.

“Ray?”

“I’ll rest on the sofa, so sleep comfortably in bed.”

The woman who was talking about gentlemanly was showing warmth. Without any time to stop her, Ray rushed to the sofa and leaned against the cushion, using it as a pillow.

“Ray. What I said at dinner was a joke. Come here.”

Ramiel stood up. No matter how much he had grown up as a child confined to his own home with no help, he was not so senseless as to throw a woman out of her bed. It was long after he entered the room and went to bed. It looked like Ray was about to wake up, so he wanted to see her reaction. It was truly a kind of ‘prank’.

It was something a man named Ramiel would never do.

He expected Ray to respond as loudly as she did last evening, but unexpectedly, she was considerate of his tiredness after working all night. An unfamiliar and somewhat disturbing feeling enveloped Ramiel’s body.

“Yes, it’s okay. Ramiel Ruivan, please show your gentlemanly attitude later.”

“Ray, do you really need to turn me into trash like that?”

“Ramiel didn’t kick me out or order me to go, so why are you trash? This is where people who look down on those who stay up all night to work become trash.”

There was not a trace of shadow on her face as she smiled brightly and said it was okay. It seemed like it was only natural that she was considerate of him. This person was the witch of Ravidon?

“…Nonsense.”

Ray asked ‘Huh?’ at the small sound he made, but she just laughed it off.

Ramiel was the type of person who couldn’t sleep if there were other people in the room. It was awkward for him to be given up the bed by someone who wasn’t even going to sleep, but since he had been treated with warmth for a long time, he pretended not to notice and lay down on the bed to enjoy it even more.
