Chapter 6
When Gabi heard that there was a dungeon, she flinched.
She’s not sure, but watching others fleeing, it appears to be a dangerous situation, and she wanted to do something to repay the favor of the church that gave her a place to stay.
More than anything else, she wants to relive the sensation she felt when defeating the kobolds.
She wants to be a hero!
However, she remembered Arnold’s advice not to show it to anyone. After all, those were the words of the male protagonist, not some random extra.
If she hadn’t known that he was a male protagonist, she would have ignored it and simply ran away.
Gabi secretly resented Mr. Si.
【 System : ‘Subdue the dungeon appeared in the church’]
【 Reward: 10sp, 10 shillings 】
【 Do you want to accept the quest? 】
【 Yes | No 】
Suddenly, a quest window popped up in front of the troubled Gabi.
“What about the one quest per day?”
【 It’s an emergency ^0^ So it’s a special quest 】
So there are also days where Mr. Si, who told Gabi that she was greedy, also became selfish.
Gabi thought so, but the corners of her mouth were already smirking.
If it’s a quest, then there’s nothing she can do about it. She thought that she should just complete the quest and save the people rather than pay attention to the words of the male protagonist who had no guarantee that she would meet again.
Gabi ran excitedly in the opposite direction of the people evacuating. Like when she killed the kobolds, she hoped that her gun would also work this time.
She wanted to ask at least one of the people because she didn’t know the location of the dungeon, but she couldn’t hold anyone because they are running away in panic.
Gabi came out from the corridor on the second floor and looked around. In her field of vision, she saw Erica and Simon standing in front of something in the church’s central garden.
“It completely looks like a gate.”
The first dungeon she went to with Arnold was not the usual gate entrance, but rather a cave. So this time, of course, she wondered if a similar cave had appeared, but the gate in front of her was something she had seen a lot while working as a hunter.
Gabi quickly went into the central garden where Erica and Simon were.
“Simon!”
“Gabi-nim.”
She struggled through the crowds to the garden and called Simon’s name, who was looking at the gate. Simon looked back at Gabi’s call and had a troubled expression on his face.
“What is it?”
“This is a dungeon… No, I don’t even know if this is actually a dungeon.”
Perhaps it was the first time he had seen a swirling whirlwind-shaped gate that wasn’t an entry way like the Barstow Cave.
“Maybe a monster will pop out of there.”
Gabi pointed at the gate and said.
This gate is the type of dungeon where monster would pop out from it. She doesn’t know what kind of gate in front of her is, but seeing that the gap is slightly widening, Gabi thought it must be an unexpected type.
As she spoke, the gate that you can just see if you look closely, suddenly widened and a monster jumped out of it.
“Gabi-nim, please evacuate first…”
Seeing the monsters, Simon tried to talk to Gabi, but Erica interrupted him, so he can’t finish his words. Simon couldn’t say anything because of Erica’s actions and just stared at Gabi while standing in front of the gate.
“…We’re fucked.”
One appeared through the gate, and several monsters poured out after it.
There was a good reason why Gabi, who had been so confident on the way here, cursed a little as soon as she heard the monster’s roar.
It was because the monsters in front of them were drakes and wyverns, similar to dragons, not just some low-level kobolds. Since it was a monster that only appeared in high-level gates, Gabi’s hands started to shake.
She never thought of running away, but now she does. She couldn’t do it, she can’t think how would she deal with it.
She turned her head to look at Simon and Erica, who were looking at her with worried eyes.
If you’re not going to help, let’s just run away together.
Closing her eyes tightly, Gabi couldn’t help it. She squeezed the gun she was carrying and looked back at the gate.
If she had encountered a gate in front of her eyes in Korea, she would run and report it first.
Although it was just kobolds yesterday in the dungeon she entered with Arnold, she somehow felt that her guns currently has different powers. She thought that even if it wasn’t only low-level monsters like kobolds, she might have a chance with the drake and wyvern in front of her.
Even though she knew it was impossible, she just felt that way.
【 Cheer up, Gabi! You can do it (o^0^)o 】
“If you’re not going to help me, please shut up.”
She was originally unwilling and hesitant to pull the trigger, but when Mr. Si talked to her, Gabi loaded her gun.
Although there is a high chance for her to be eaten here like a porridge or plain rice, she will still try, and if it doesn’t work, she will just run away.
After all, if this gun doesn’t work, then she’s in danger just like the people evacuating from here.
“Huu.”
After taking a deep breath, she first aimed at a wyvern flying in the sky.
If she hesitated any longer, the drakes and wyverns will come near and engage in close combat. With that thought, Gabi immediately pulled the trigger.
Gabi easily hit the flying wyvern. Shooting it is easy, then what leaves is whether the gun would work or not.
The wyvern that has been shot in the head nicely, fell to the ground while spewing blood.
“Mmm, it worked.”
The wyvern, which fell down with just one shot, did not move its body any more. It looks dead.
She began to hear the murmurs of the people watching her.
Gabi quickly grasped her situation and immediately began to defeat the other monsters one by one. She’s feeling a lot of excitement right now.
As she slays the monster, she feels excited. She is a little scared, but at this moment, she can’t help but to feel strong. Even when she was up against kobolds, she felt that her guns worked too well for her.
The monsters that was hit by the bullets fell down without being able to resist.
Perhaps it was because there were so many of them that she had to reload several times, Gabi had already used up all the extra magazines she had brought with her.
But there are still three monsters left.
“I will help, Gabi-nim!”
“It’s okay.”
When Simon, who had been watching, shouted and tried to approach her, Gabi stopped him.
The she took out her pistol, which she had tucked in her thigh just in case.
Bang, bang, bang.
Gabi knocked down the three monsters rushing towards her by hitting them with her pistol one after another.
“Gabi-nim!”
She turned her head at Simon’s cry and saw that there was still a remaining drake that she didn’t noticed earlier and it was rushing towards her.
Surprised by the drake’s sudden approach, Gabi’s fist went ahead before her gun and slammed the drake’s face.
The drake, which was yanked to the other side because of the force, didn’t die immediately, but was just unable to get up from the strong blow and wriggled.
So Gabi finished it with the pistol she was holding in her other hand.
“Oh wow, how surprising.”
Gabi, whose hand hurts from punching the drake’s hard skin, let out a sigh of relief.
The church’s central garden, filled with the corpses of drakes and wyverns, went quiet for a while.
“Gabi-nim…”
“As expected! You’re amazing.”
Simon, with a relieved expression, called Gabi by her name and tried to approach her, but Erica, who was next to him, went ahead of him and held Gabi’s hands.
“Not at all, what did I do?”
Gabi shyly stroked the back of her head.
And soon after, the people of the church who were watching the situation as they evacuated, began to cheer.
Gabi was momentarily taken aback by the sound that echoed throughout the church.
‘Wow, this makes me feel bad.’
Gabi, who was looking around the church, couldn’t hold back the corners of her mouth rising and twitched.
This moment when she could easily deal with so many monsters by herself and receive cheers, she felt like the world’s most powerful person.
“Thank you very much. Are you tired? I will take you to your room.”
Simon bowed politely.
Gabi returned to the room with Simon while smiling before parting with him.
In addition, she will receive a reward since it was Mr. Si who gave her an unexpected quest.
It’s smooth. Her own strength, which she felt here, made her forget the anxiety that she died and came to another dimension where she knew nothing.
“Did you told me not to show it to anyone because you were jealous?”
Gabi, who recalled Arnold’s words, snorted at him.
She’s so strong and can save people, so why hide it? He must have said that because he was weak and couldn’t stand a person stronger than him.
Gabi was proud that she had amassed a total of 14 shillings, although she’s still unsure how much a value a shilling has.
Now that she has 16 sp, she can get the skill she wants if she gathers this much again.
Why does the future look bright? Gabi was humming a song and gleefully looking at the window.
She was looking at the blue sky outside the window when she heard a knock.
“Come in.”
Before she returned to her room, she asked Simon for a pocket to put her money in. Gabi thought he was already there so she went to the door.
However, contrary to her imagination, it was three women who knocked and entered.
“Greetings, Gabi-nim.”
The clothes of the women who came in with a polite greeting were something she had not seen often in the church.
Before she could ask who they are, the women rushed and took Gabi to the bathroom attached to the room to wash her.
It was so abrupt that before she could even ask what they were going to do, she already got into the bathtub and barely came to her senses to say that would wash herself.
“What else?”
“I will help you change your clothes.”
As Gabi finished her bath and came out of her bathroom while wiping her hair, the women politely bowed their heads once again.
Are you saying you’re going to give me clothes to wear here besides the school uniform?
Gabi took a bath without knowing why, and she was bathed without knowing why.
So she just left her body to the women.
It wasn’t until Gabi checked her outfit in front of the full-length mirror in the room that she figured out what had happened to her.
She was wearing a white dress that reached her ankles, with a long piece of cloth hanging down her arms. On her head was a veil embroidered with various patterns, and a headband of lilies draped on either side.
Seeing the sudden rise in status, Gabi was embarrassed and went close to the full-length mirror to scan her appearance.
“This… what is this?”
Even though the situation itself was absurd, she looked back at the women with the corner of her mouth twitching in embarrassment.
“It is an honor to serve the saintess.”
The women who helped her change suddenly bowed before Gabi.
Saintess? Me?
Gabi was at a loss for words.
