The Boss is Reborn with his Little Fairy

Chapter 23.2: Stolen Kisses

Wen Ke’an had just finished her afternoon class when the homeroom teacher called her out before she had a chance to leave.

The homeroom teacher pointed at a man with long hair who was standing next to her and said, “This is Teacher Wang, the president of the Blue Flower Dance Club.”. He was briefly introduced by the homeroom teacher.

Wen Ke’an was briefly surprised upon hearing the name Blue Flower Dance Club. She was obviously aware of the elite Blue Flower Dance Club in the dance community. Dancers of the highest caliber from China and abroad were present in the club. Wen Ke’an had always imagined herself joining the Blue Flower Dance Club, which had recently experienced significant growth.

The dance club had stopped taking new members in her previous life by the time she was old enough to apply. She had already signed with another organization when the Blue Flower Dance Club later reopened its hiring process.

“You can talk to Teacher Wang for now, I have some other matters to attend to,” the homeroom teacher patted Wen Ke’an on the shoulder and said.

Wen Ke’an responded, “All right, go ahead.”

After the homeroom teacher had left, Wen Ke’an turned to face Teacher Wang and questioned him, “Who are you?”.

“You’re Wen Ke’an, right?” Teacher Wang asked with a smile and a soft voice.

Wen Ke’an answered, “Yes, I am.”

Teacher Wang inquired after the student, “Did you perform at the school event last night?” for some reason being aware of the event. “Yes, that was me”, Wen Ke’an acknowledged while nodding truthfully.

“I see. Well, our club is looking to hire some young, talented dancers, and after seeing your performance last night, I think you have a lot of potential. Would you be interested in joining our club?” Teacher Wang enquired.

The Blue Flower Dance Club’s president unexpectedly extended this opportunity to Wen Ke’an in a way she hadn’t anticipated. She remained motionless for a brief moment.

After observing Wen Ke’an’s silence, Teacher Wang grinned and continued, “Perhaps you don’t know much about our club.

right now, and your parents might need to be informed of this. We can sit down and discuss it further if you have some free time.”

Wen Ke’an was then driven to a nearby café by Teacher Wang. Few people were there, making it a quiet and conversation-friendly setting.

Wen Ke’an, who was paying close attention, heard Teacher Wang briefly introduce their dance club.

The Blue Flower Dance Club was still in its early stages, but Wen Ke’an, who had recently experienced rebirth, was aware that in a few years the club would achieve even greater heights. Now would be the perfect time for a young dancer to join and begin a successful career.

But if she went down the dance route, it also meant giving up her studies.

“I recognize that you might not be able to decide on your own.” Teacher Wang said, sipping his coffee, “Take some time to talk about it with your parents.”

Knowing that whichever decision she made would have a significant impact on her future, Wen Ke’an thought through her options.

After a brief period of silence, Wen Ke’an realized she already knew the answer. “Thank you very much for this opportunity, but for now, I want to concentrate on finishing my studies,” she said, turning to face her teacher.

Wen Ke’an’s words caused Teacher Wang to pause before answering, “So you’ve already made up your mind so quickly, without any further consideration?” with a smile.

“Thank you for giving me this chance, I truly love dancing.” Wen Ke’an said softly, “I don’t want to sacrifice my education for dance, though.”

She had a passion for dance in her previous life, almost an obsession. She believed she could become the greatest dancer. She had given up a lot of things for the dance.

But she was no longer the same girl who had risked everything for dance. She had a caring partner, and her parents were now healthy. It was now less important to her.

“Haha, I know you’re an excellent student, and you might have a path that’s better suited to you.” As he gave her his business card, Teacher Wang remarked, “But you are a fantastic dancer, and I greatly admire you. Here’s my card. Please get in touch with me if you ever change your mind or need anything.”.

“Okay, thank you, Teacher,” Wen Ke’an replied as she accepted the business card.

Wen Ke’an exhaled in relief after bidding Teacher Wang farewell.

She had never imagined that one day the president of the Blue Flower Dance Club would approach her. She also hadn’t expected that she would decline the offer.

She still had a strong passion for dance, but it was now a more sensible passion.

The clouds in the sky were beautifully colored red by the sunset. Wen Ke’an strolled off while enjoying the sunshine.

A table of students in the café’s corner, where Wen Ke’an had already left, watched in shock as she left.

Someone muttered, “Oh my, am I seeing things, someone actually declined an invitation from the Blue Flower Dance Club?”

“I’m not sure if she’s just innocent or overconfident.”

Wen Xing’er’s sister, I believe, is who she is.

“She even attempted to impersonate her sister in the office, but the teacher quickly detected the ruse.”

“Wow, this looks like it belongs in a soap opera. I find myself cringing.”

Wen Xing’er kept her head down, but she could hear a group of students leaving, and she could hear their voices getting louder and more raucous. Even their volume rose.

One of the girls whispered, “Shh, look over there,” as they carried on their conversation. “Isn’t that Wen Xing’er?”

At that moment, in the not-so-distant corner of the café, there was a girl wearing a hat.

“Wow, she really does resemble her,” someone murmured.

“Is she deliberately following her sister and Teacher Wang, or is it possible that she is?”

“Tsk, how can there be people like this?”

“Forget about it, let’s go. Hurry.”

Wen Xing’er didn’t raise her head, but she could hear a group of people leaving nearby. She gripped the edge of her clothes tightly. All the words those people said had clearly reached her ears.

She couldn’t understand what was going on, but Wen Xing’er felt that she had an exceptionally unlucky day.

First, during class, she had been accidentally splashed with ink, and then her bicycle had mysteriously gotten a flat tire on her way home. She had finally decided to relax with a drink when she saw the dance club’s president extending an olive branch to Wen Ke’an.

In comparison, hearing her classmates gossiping about her behind her back was no longer an unlucky event.

“Why does she deserve it?” Wen Xinger thought, not feeling convinced.

She was no weaker than Wen Ke’an, so why did everyone like her? Why was she so lucky to receive praise from teachers? Why?!

Wen Xing’er was so frustrated that she took a sip of her coffee but instantly regretted it as her tongue went numb.

Wen Xing’er was about to lose it. “I specifically asked for iced coffee! Why is this so hot?!”.

After returning home, Wen Ke’an briefly explained the situation to her parents. They were very supportive of her decision. Wen Ke’an understood that her parents loved her deeply, and regardless of the path she chose, they would always support her.

The weather was hot, so Wen Ke’an took a quick shower and then lay on her bed, chatting with Gu Ting.

It was getting late, and just as Wen Ke’an was about to turn off the lights and go to sleep, she received a message from Wen Xing’er.

“I heard that the Blue Flower Dance Club president went to see you, sister.”

“Congratulations to you, sister.”

Wen Ke’an knew that Wen Xinger wasn’t genuinely congratulating her, so she didn’t reply.

After a while, she received another message from Wen Xing’er.

“I also consider it helping my sister. Doesn’t my sister want to thank me?”

Wen Ke’an calmly scrolled through her photo album, found a video she had taken of her sister trying to pick a lock, and sent it to her.

“I helped you, but you wanted to harm me.”

Wen Ke’an messaged, “Did you know that the heavens are watching while you’re doing something?”

She continued, “I hope you’ll be kinder in the future.”

Wen Ke’an decided not to get too involved with this cousin so after sending these messages, so she blocked Wen Xing’er.

Wen Ke’an had been quiet for several days. During this time, Gu Ting had been dealing with some issues at his family’s home, and Wen Ke’an hadn’t seen him in a while.

After a busy week, Wen Qiangguo finally decided to take a day off on Saturday. Since they had moved to the city, the family had not gone out together. Taking advantage of the day off, Wen Qiangguo planned to take Wen Ke’an and Liu Qing out for some shopping and perhaps buy them some new clothes.

There was a large shopping mall not far from their home, so they first headed there to shop for clothes.

Wen Ke’an usually wore her school uniform, so she didn’t really need new clothes. She picked out a simple outfit and decided that would be enough for her.

Wen Qiangguo and Liu Qing were busy helping each other pick out clothes, and Wen Ke’an felt like a third wheel. After a moment of thought, she quietly left.

“I’ll go to the restroom, Mom,” Wen Ke’an casually made an excuse and informed Linqing.

“Sure, go ahead,” Liu Qing, who was busy helping her husband pick clothes, replied absentmindedly.

Meanwhile, on the ground floor of the mall.

Xie Hongyi looked helpless as he watched Gu Ting. “Ting-ge, if I weren’t there, would you have fought with your dad?”.

Xie Hongyi had just managed to get Gu Ting to leave a nearby five-star hotel, and he couldn’t even begin to fathom what had happened.

“I was just scaring him,” Gu Ting replied calmly.

Xie Hongyi sighed. He had just wanted to speak when he subconsciously clutched his stomach and muttered under his breath, “Damn, I’ve got a stomach ache from something I ate today.”.

“I’ll go to the restroom first,” Xie Hongyi said, handing his cigarette to Gu Ting. “Hold this for a while, thanks, Ting-ge!”

Not far from there was a smoking area, and Gu Ting stood near its entrance, holding the cigarette.

He wasn’t in a good mood at the moment.

Gu Ting reached into his pocket and pulled out a lighter. Just as he was about to ignite the cigarette, he subconsciously looked up and saw Wen Ke’an standing not too far away, silently watching him.

Wen Ke’an hadn’t expected to encounter Gu Ting here, let alone catch him smoking. She didn’t say anything and walked over to his side.

“Why are you here?” Gu Ting’s heart lightened when he saw her. He smiled and asked, “Out shopping?”

“Yeah,” Wen Ke’an replied simply, her gaze focused on the cigarette in his hand.

She didn’t say anything but extended her hand toward him.

In the meantime, on the second floor of the mall.

Xie Hongyi walked out and noticed that Gu Ting was looking strangely happy yet unhappy at the same time. He couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to Gu Ting.

“Ting-ge, where’s your cigarette?” Xie Hongyi asked, puzzled.

Gu Ting was silent for a moment, and a faint smile appeared in his eyes. He said softly, “It got taken away.”.

Xie Hongyi: “???”

He found it hard to believe that someone could be so happy about having their cigarette taken away.

“Aren’t you going to get another one?” Although Xie Hongyi didn’t understand what was going on with Gu Ting, he still offered the cigarette box to him.

Gu Ting didn’t take it. Instead, he explained, “No, I can’t smoke anymore; my family is strict about it.”

“????” Xie Hongyi was genuinely baffled.

Just a while ago, Gu Ting had been arguing with his dad, and now he was saying his family was strict about smoking?

Moreover, with Gu Ting’s personality, it seemed like no one in his family could control him.

Xie Hongyi fell into a rare silence for a while. Finally, he couldn’t hold back anymore and asked Gu Ting, “Ting-ge, why were you so disobedient during the argument with Uncle Gu just now?”

Gu Ting didn’t respond.
