The Archduke’s Gorgeous Wedding Was a Fraud

“There are no dangerous animals here, and the majority of them are herbivores brought from the mainland and released here, so there is nothing to worry about. This island also has a caretaker who manages any changes or dangers in the terrain.”

“I love it. It’s so beautiful.”

Lacius was dressed in a short-sleeved outfit because we were in a hot region.

I caught a glimpse of his muscular arm and dashed towards the damp sand to hide my flushed cheeks.

I was dressed in almost sleeveless attire, so I could withstand the heat.

It was, of course, not my usual dress but a newly made Titania dress, which is why it was more comfortable.

“Ah, it feels good.”

The salty sea breeze filled my nostrils.

I spread my arms wide and stared at the lapping waves.

‘They called this Teapot Island…’

There was a forest in the middle, with half of the perimeter covered in rocks and the other half on sandy shores.

There were cottages located both in the forest and by the sea, and I naturally chose the latter.

The idea of living in a place like this was a fantasy.

‘Wow, I can’t believe I got to visit such an amazing place.’

It was great to come here with nothing but myself.

Lacius dragged Siwoo along, and I walked by his side as we slowly made our way down the beach to the cottage.

There was a white sandbar in the blindingly clear sea.

The cottage was built with trees as its foundation, and everything from the roof to the walls had an exotic touch.

Particularly, the upper part of the exterior walls was adorned with stained glass-like colorful glass, adding to its beauty.

“The wood used for the cottage’s floor is sturdy and heavy. It can withstand typhoons and doesn’t rot in water.”

“I see.”

“And the bedroom area of this cottage is made separately using a special type of wood that grows on this island.”

The cottage didn’t have a lock.

None at all. One wall of the living room is completely open, so you can see the sea, and it seemed like you could also dive from there.

The bedroom was inside, and the carpet on the floor was incredibly soft.

It looked so cozy that I wanted to walk on it barefoot without shoes or slippers.

“The tree from which the bedroom is made is called a tanpong tree, and since it floats on water, it can also act as a boat in case of emergencies.”

“It sounds very safe. And its name is cute. Tanpong.”

Of course, the sea was visible from the bedroom as well.

I plopped onto the bed with a contented sigh, saying, “Tanpong Tanpong.”

Since I had come to relax, I planned to enjoy myself to the fullest.

If it weren’t for Evershal, I wouldn’t mind staying here for a few months.

“Oh, and there’s one more thing I should tell you. There’s only one bedroom here.”

“… What?”

“Of course, I’ll sleep outside, so don’t worry.”

“… … ?”

I was so surprised that I momentarily forgot what to say.

What do you mean there’s only one?

Lacius looked around the bedroom with a slightly embarrassed face and then, without sitting next to me on the bed, began explaining various other things.

“The teapot right next to the bed has a permanent cooling enchantment on it. And if you want to lower the temperature in the bedroom, just pull the cord on the left.”

“Uhm, okay.”

“It gets cooler with each pull, so you can adjust it to your liking.”

I appreciate the detailed explanation, but I wanted to hear more about what he mentioned earlier.

Lacius casually said he would sleep outside, but the living room we just saw didn’t even have a couch.

So how would he sleep outside?

I know it’s going to be uncomfortable!

“I’ll leave for now. There are several clothes in the closet that you can wear, choose whatever you like.”

“… … !”

Lacius said that and left.

I was bewildered and stood there blankly before opening the closet.

Among the white and oatmeal-colored clothes, my eye caught something else.

‘… A teddy bear?’

The stuffed animal, which looked so expensive that I felt bad calling it just a teddy bear, was smiling at me.

“Goodness, what is this? Is it a surprise gift or something?”

The diamonds in its eyes had a faint bluish tinge to them. It was as if Lacius searched for a gemstone similar to mine and used it.

The ribbon around its neck was wine-colored, and the soles of its feet were made of deep burgundy velvet.

The fur was so soft that it seemed to melt under my touch, and I wondered how it was made.

While stroking the head of the teddy bear, I noticed a small card attached to its back.

Find the second gift.

Hint: three rocks

After checking the card’s back and front for a long time, I pulled the teddy bear into my arms and picked out a change of clothes.

After taking off my sandy clothes and putting on more active clothes, I had the urge to just jump into the sea.

I looked at my reflection in the antique mirror, lifted my red hair high, and tied it up.

“Lacius, is this a treasure hunt?”

I walked out of the bedroom to find Lacius leaning on the terrace.

I lifted the teddy bear and held it in front of his face, moving it with my other hand.

“I am curious when did you prepare this treasure hunt!”

I changed my voice a little, like the doll was talking, and Lacius laughed.

“It may seem childish, but I did a lot of treasure hunting here when I was a kid. I wanted to let you experience that too.”

“Oh my. This is a real treasure. The thing in its eyes, is it a diamond?”

“Yes, it is. It took a while to find something that resembles the color of your eyes.”

Lacius tapped the nose of the teddy bear made of obsidian.

I set the teddy bear down gently on the glass table and held the card in my hands.

“The hint is three rocks, is there nothing else?”

“Yeah. You just need to find three rocks.”

“I don’t think three rocks just literally means three rocks lying around…”

I rubbed my index finger across the teddy bear’s nose, deep in thought.

Lacius saw me like that and held out his hand affectionately.

“You might come across them while taking a walk.”

I thought about it before, but Lacius was really good at enticing people.

Maybe it’s because of his trustworthy and handsome face that someone would just follow him even if they didn’t know the destination.

“Are we going into the woods?”

Long T/N: Hi~ I reread my translation from Chapter 1 and found some names that got changed or were constantly changing (due to yours truly having no editor) that I never really addressed so I decided to clarify them today.

Some names that got changed were: Kun Gaisha → Kun Geisha | Lakum → Lakurum | Yang energy → Moon energy/power

Some names that were usually mistranslated/mispelled: Lucius, Lasius, Racius→ Lacius | Lentus → Rentus Knights | Scweden, Shubeiden → Schweiden

And another thing, I only found out about TAGWF’s Manhwa adaptation yesterday! Wth, I’m so late to the party😭 The art was really pretty tho I kinda was wishing for them to use the same artist who did the novel cover for the manhwa. Yeah, I know it was almost impossible but a girl can dream lol.

The characters were prettily & I think accurately drawn. PRINCESS -UNNIE SPECIFICALLY WAS DRAWN SO GORGEOUSLY. The only thing I don’t really like about the Manhwa is that it is too fast-paced. 2 chapters(40 translated chapters in total) were finished in just 16 chapters in the Manhwa.

I’m aware that’s how Manhwa adaptations typically are. They delete scenes and cut details. As the novel translator, I was simply a bit saddened that some details I liked were lost in the adaptation. For example, Shay’s stories about her mother from the real world or just anything about her previous life. (They might get mentioned later on, but nothing was mentioned about em so far) I think they are also pretty interesting details that will not only show us more of Shay’s personality but also give depth to her character. Shay decided to do business, why? because her (real) family was poor. Why is she such a strong-willed character? Because her mother raised her like that.

ANYWAY, that’s just my two cents about the Manhwa😅. I am truly happy TAGWF finally had a Manhwa adaptation, it was really great. I hope you all also support it! The art was gorgeous~

You can now sponsor an extra chapter by buying me a Ko-fi! 1 Ko-fi= 1extra chapter.
