The Archduke’s Gorgeous Wedding Was a Fraud

TAGWF Chapter 14.8

“Yes, we understand!”

Ilyin answered energetically, jumping up from her seat. Pepper, still in tears, took Ilyin’s hand and went outside.

After some time, everyone gathered had finished signing.

A person who cried because they could not believe it. A girl who trembles with her whole body and begs for revenge. An old lady who just bowed her head dozens of times to say thank you.

All of them made me feel embarrassed. I hired them because it would benefit me, but they looked at me like I was some kind of angel, and it baffled me.

After organizing the contracts, I made Ilyin and Pepper stand and added one last word.

“Well, one last thing.”

“Yes”

“The reason I hired you was because I was short on hands. I’m not hiring any more, except for you and those guys out there.”

This was to prevent them from bringing their relatives and asking me to hire them too.

“Those people must have come this far with you because they truly believed in you and followed you.”

“Yes, that’s right. We’ve been working together for over ten years.”

“Alright. The first time is important in everything; imitation is useless. Starting tomorrow, there will be knights stationed in front of the shop. If you do the same thing again, I won’t meet anyone personally, and hiring them will be out of the question.”

If people find out I hired the lower class with such generous conditions, there will be an uproar. It was clear that among the same low-income people, there would be people who would make a fuss and demand the same treatment and might even cause a disturbance in front of the shop.

But I really didn’t need to hire any more. If they wanted the same treatment as my employees, they would have to rebel at their own workplace or go on strike.

‘But I’ll take their side in social circles..’

I should mercilessly trample on the employer’s pride by asking if their situation is so difficult right now that they cannot pay even a penny to their employees. If there is a nobleman who points his finger at me for treating the common people excessively, that person must be prepared.

I’ll examine their financial statements, find out the status of the wage payments of their employees, and make a report and present it to the princess. It is safe to say that no one is righteous to the core. There must be something dirty somewhere. If I thoroughly expose the first one who picks a fight, it will serve as a good example.

“Make sure everyone you know knows. That you are special.”

With that, my words come to an end. They both seemed to understand the true meaning of my words.

“Well, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll take our leave now.”

“Alright, go ahead.”

Pepper conveyed her gratitude with tear-filled eyes and bowed deeply. Ilyin, instead of leaving immediately, hesitated and then pulled out a crumpled paper from her bosom.

“Actually, the reason we came to see you, a very precious person, was because of this paper.”

“What is this?”

“It’s a flyer that’s been circulating in the taverns recently. We saw this and thought we should at least try, even if it seemed impossible.”

“Oh, that’s right. If we were to receive the same salary, we… we’d rather work under the person mentioned in the flyer…”

What is this about?

Although it was a piece of paper that had been worn to the brink of wear and tear, it was of good enough quality for a nobleman to use. I took it without thinking, and my eyes almost popped out.

“What the hell is this?”

An absurd question slipped from my lips.

And for good reason—on the pristine white paper was a large portrait of my face taken at a banquet. Privacy rights be damned.

And below that, in tiny letters, there was a long list of things about me, including my foot size, at which point I crumpled the paper. The title of the paper was like this.

Young and Gorgeous Rich! Titania Oberon Fan Club Application Form

… … There was only one person in the world who would do something like this.

‘Narnia!’

* * *

‘This is bad.’

I had completely forgotten about Narnia. Which meant I hadn’t bought her a gift.

If she found out I had forgotten, given that she gets jealous—to the point of emitting a dark aura—just from seeing me talk intimately with another noble lady…?

‘Oohh, I don’t even want to imagine.’

I rubbed my goosebump-covered arm and sighed. I’ll have to send a message to Narnia asking to meet her. I also have to ask when this fan club, or whatever it was, was created.

“Ugh, I have a mountain of work as soon as I get back.”

Let’s sort it out. I grabbed a piece of parchment and scribbled down a list of things I needed to do.

1) Dress brand Titania. Underwear brand Oberon. Inform both managers of the launch of menswear and sales in the desert country.

2) Buy another building to use as a workshop. At the same time, I need to buy another building to be used as a dormitory.

3) Announce the hiring of a new group of artisans led by Pepper and Ilyin.

4) Assign them the task of making menswear and norigae.

5) Hire a separate manager for the men’s clothing line.

6) Instruct the manager of the brand ‘Titania’ to collaborate with Pepper and Ilyin to produce a prototype dress with a norigae.

7) Check the sales performance while you’re away from Terran and balance the books. Based on that, determine the sales direction for the fall collection.

8) And the Evershal… … .

There’s no end—no end at all. Being the head is no easy task. But there was more to it than this.

I need to meet with Ziontin, Raziana, Cynthia, and Narnia individually. Also, I need to find out if they know anything about the fan club.

‘When will I have time to spend with Lacius if I do all this? Ugh.’

I don’t know why my fan club was suddenly created out of nowhere. Lacius said that if we get things done properly, we can go somewhere nice and far away. A sense of crisis that we might not be able to go with our plan if things continue like this for the rest of my life suddenly hit me hard.

“No, that can’t happen. Absolutely not.”

We will go on a trip. I will give all the instructions as quickly as possible, hold hands with Lacius, and run away without anyone noticing. With that firm determination, I jumped up from my seat.

I need help. I need to hire an aide who can share, if not take over, these tasks!

You can now sponsor a chapter by buying me a Kofi! 1 Kofi = 1 extra chapter
