The Archduke’s Gorgeous Wedding Was a Fraud

TAGWF Chapter 13.30

It’s an arrogant attitude that shows she didn’t give a damn about the nonsense she just heard. The bird mask that was standing close to the guy called ‘God’ screamed.

“Thing? How dare you use that kind of title to address God! Aren’t you afraid of divine punishment?”

The confidence in having captured us was evident. The ‘god’ chuckled softly and raised his hand.

“Enough. They don’t know yet. That a new god will rule the world.”

As soon as he finished speaking, an ominous sound like a crash followed, and the steel cage started to move backward. That means it has become narrow.

Even if people took just one or two steps closer to each other, the range in which they could swing their swords would disappear. If we’re not careful, we could cut each other down. In addition, hundreds of sharp spears appeared in the air.

“What I want is you, number 1092. If you come here with the bell… even though they are non-believers who do not believe in the new god, I promise not to harm them. I swear it in my name, God.”

This is so merciful that it almost brings tears to my eyes.

It was such a typical villain’s line that only stupid people would believe it. Needless to say, there was no agitation on our side. When silence descends and everyone waits for orders, the princess, who had been pondering with her hand on her chin, muttered softly.

“Your tactics are petty, and your strategy is shallow. I dare say there is nothing of value to be learned from you. I came here out of curiosity, but if this is all you have to show… I’m disappointed.”

“… What did you say?”

“You seem to hold yourself in high regard, yet your inadequacy knows no bounds. There is nothing more worth watching here.”

Her tone was so deeply imbued with disappointment that it made those listening nearby flinch.  Princess-unnie who had her arms crossed and was flicking her fingers, spun around and touched the shoulders of Lacius and the chief of Kun.

“Spare their lives. There are prisoners among the masked ones, so don’t kill them recklessly.”

This is a command that is not to be taken lightly. Given the silence, it is inevitable that even the ‘god’ and his followers could hear it. A few of those wearing bird masks flinched. Their faces were hidden, and they wore loose, sack-like clothing that concealed their bodies.

But how could she be so certain?

“Are you curious?”

Clangggg! With a ringing sound, a sword and a blade imbued with light moved. The princess put her arm around my shoulder and watched the scene of the iron bars being cut apart. She had a relaxed attitude, like someone who had come to enjoy an interesting play.

“Despicable people always come up with equally despicable strategies. They might think they hid well, but… there were several people of noticeably different builds mixed in.”

“Oh!”

“There are people in the middle who have the size of a thin woman who has not eaten well. I am not sure about the others, but there’s no way I wouldn’t notice that.”

The princess’s voice becomes much sweeter than usual when she talks about such things. I saw Lacius’ hair flying through the air in the distance, leaving an afterimage before my eyes like the tail of a meteor.

As if they had learned their lesson about skeleton soldiers earlier, huge beasts created with painting magic poured out from the side of god. It was probably summoned by painting wizards among those wearing bird masks.

“Hmph, what a bunch of crap!”

The chief of Kun faced a giant scorpion. He slammed the handle of his sword down on its back, and with a crack, the scorpion shuddered in pain. Kun’s warriors stand in line to block its swishing tail. It was a perfect division of labour.

Meanwhile, Lacius had taken down three bears single-handedly. It would probably be difficult for them to carry out a large-scale attack like the one they did last time, and they probably wouldn’t have enough power to create people. In the end, the only means left were animals.

“Or maybe he’s hiding a trick up his sleeve.”

I mumbled to myself and then looked at Dua again. The way she faltered at the sight of god, it was clear she hadn’t fully recovered from the brainwashing and trauma.

Well, it’s only natural after being persecuted for such a long time. As I was pondering, I felt a spear aimed at my head and immediately cast a painting spell.

Thud! With a loud noise, a large shield formed above my head. The top was a shield, but there was a pillar in the centre, so I didn’t have to hold it with my hands.

“What a useful ability to summon a shield so easily.”

“Oh, it’s not that easy.”

“Your ability to manifest reality is quite remarkable, and your creativity is impressive. Judging by the results, your drawing skills must be top-notch as well.”

The princess tapped the bottom of the shield with her fist a few times and said that in an admiring tone. Dua and the other painting wizards stared in amazement at what I had summoned.

Perhaps because I have a habit of making things big, it is large enough to be considered a sculpture. Naturally, summoning something large consumes more life force. Their astonished looks were understandable.

“Why make things so complicated? You and I could have created a new world.”

The guy called god was saying some bullshit in a sad voice from the other side. Above his head, I can see a boulder spawning with a rumble. It’s obvious where it’s going to fly. I signalled Dua with my eyes to bring out ‘that.’

“I wasn’t planning to summon this one…!”

I’m also starting to get stingy with my life force, you jerk!

“Come forth, Mammoth!”

A mere elephant wouldn’t suffice. For battle, I needed something twice the size and ferocity of an ordinary elephant. As a massive boulder hurtled towards my face, appearing enormous despite the distance, I prepared myself.

Puuuu! The gigantic mammoth emerged with a thunderous roar.

‘After all, it’s better to do it with a bang’

Crash. Though it was a rock, it was nothing to the mammoth. Instead, it only made it angrier.

Every time the mammoth moved, the ground shook. Kun’s warriors, who were looking behind them, quickly moved out of the way, and the beasts summoned by God retreated in fear upon seeing something even more ferocious than themselves.

“Aaaah!”

“What is that!”

Some of the bird masks seemed startled and tried to run away. Of course, the mammoth wouldn’t let them go. Its long, sharp tusks and the strength attached to its massive body were formidable.

Squelch. The fleeing men were impaled and killed instantly. Lacius had also finished his task, leaving only the masked ones.

“Ugh, die!”
