The Archduke’s Gorgeous Wedding Was a Fraud

TAGWF Chapter 11.18

‘Omg. What the hell is that?’

I couldn’t see what happened after that because the tourists crowded around so tightly. However, it was shocking enough to make me drop the palm juice I was holding.

I figured it would happen one of these days, but what the hell happened last night?

“That’s not a good sign.”

Lacius frowned as he quickly snatched the falling palm juice.

The lady, who hadn’t even bothered to look at the prince until now, was suddenly acting like this? She couldn’t be up to no good.

“It might be good to give a word of caution to the prince.”

I don’t know if I can warn a member of the royal family, but I should prevent my friend from falling into the mire.

Lacius narrowed his eyes and nodded.

“We haven’t talked much lately, but I think it’s time we did.”

What the hell is going on in this desert?

Taking my gaze away from the silver-haired and blonde-haired figures, I now looked the other way.

“Alaja, my child is very sick. Please treat him.”

“Ah… I wish I could be of some help. I’ll try it.”

“Thank you, thank you very much.”

There was Daphne, dressed in traditional desert clothes made of rather rough and rugged materials. The desert people were bowing in front of her and asking for help. Behind Daphne stands those who appear to be elite warriors of the Kun clan. It seemed that he was being treated like an honored guest after treating their leader’s ribs.

“It’s a weak power, but may it help lessen the pain….”

Daphne whispered, and a subtle green light appeared from her hands. Shortly afterwards, the child who had been lying there with parched lips opened his eyes.

“M-Mom…?”

“Oh, my baby!”

“Mom…”

“Alaja, thank you. Thank you so much!”

… It seemed like Daphne was going to be happy in the desert.

Avoiding the bustling streets where various small and large disturbances were taking place, I headed towards a quieter place. The sun was scorching, so naturally, I sought out a shaded area. It was a small grove-like place with plenty of olive trees.

“I envy you, Lacius won’t feel any heat at all.”

“Is it hot?”

“It is. It’s insanely hot.”

I should’ve done business selling cool fabric here.

It’s so much cooler than cloth or silk, I could make a fortune. I licked my lips, regretting that I hadn’t thought of that before.

“It’s better under the shade of a tree, though.”

“If it’s too hot, I’ll fan you.”

“No, it’s okay.”

Under the shade of olive trees, there were not only us but also many desert people. They chatted, exchanged goods, and cooled off in the shade. I, too, relied on the breeze and looked around.

I don’t like being in a room even when it’s hot. You don’t get to see these things very often.

These exotic sights should be savored while they last. I don’t like it when people stare at me and Lacius, but that’s the fate of beautiful people when they’re outside.

“What kind of forest is this? Ha, this is so annoying!”

However, at that moment, a voice full of annoyance echoed, piercing the ears of those enjoying the shade. Everyone reflexively turned their attention to that direction, and then, they all closed their eyes together.

‘Oh, my eyes!’

Twinkle twinkle, bling bling. It is a man and a woman whose entire body is covered in dazzling gold. Whether they had any consideration for others or not in such a hot place, their fashion was utterly thoughtless.

“Brother, I am hot. It’s hot!”

“Do these barbarians call this a forest and make my little sister suffer from the heat?”

“Oh, I want to go back to the palace!”

Oh, I know what to call those. ‘Hopeless.’

I muttered to myself. It seemed like they were someone of high status from some country, but I wasn’t sure where.  Nevertheless, it looked like their kingdom was well off.

“The young royal family of Edmund. I didn’t see them at the feast yesterday, they must have arrived late.”

“Edmund… That’s the country where painting wizards originated, right?”

“I heard that the fortress has declined a lot. They don’t have much contact with Terran, so I don’t know much about it…”

Lacius swept the golden siblings with a cold gaze.

“I guess we won’t need to pay much attention to them in the future.”

“Yeah, probably.”

I never knew royalty could be so cheap and light-mouthed.

I was used to seeing only the gorgeous princess-unnie, so I never thought there would be royalty like them. I fanned myself with my hand and looked up at the tree.

The olive kernels are so big and firm. I bet those would be delicious in a sandwich. It’s delicious…

It was at the moment my mind wandered to Subway sandwiches.

“Oh my God. Brother, look over there. He is really handsome!”

“What, who are you looking at to say that?”

“Why are you pretending not to see me? That handsome blonde over there!”

The younger sister among the golden siblings from earlier showed interest in Lacius. I opened my eyes, looked at them and laughed.

“What? What are you laughing at?”

Then, naturally, the princess got angry. Then she came towards me energetically and pointed her finger at me.

In this heat, she still had so much energy.

“Are you ignoring me now!?”

She also seemed to have a good throat.

I fidgeted with my hands and opened my mouth.

“I don’t know which country you are from, but being rude is not a Gircru*.”

*(걸크/ Geol Keu: Girl Crush, being attractive or charming to other girls)

“Gir, what? Don’t use strange words; speak properly!”

“It means you’re not the only one who’s hot, everyone’s hot, you inarticulate princess.”

Facing Peridot made these kinds of puppies seem cute. Honestly, Peridot was genuinely elegant and noble. These young royals who weren’t even adults yet weren’t worth dealing with, and I didn’t want to say much to them.

“Do you want me to show you what happens when I’m angry?”

“Ah, go on.”
