Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Awkward

A few children stared blankly, unsure how to react.

Hearing the commotion, the two turned around to see six pairs of eyes staring at them in unison.

Wen Bei couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Daddy, are you and mommy playing kiss-kiss? I want it too, I want it too.”

Wen Bei ran over excitedly, hugged their legs, and innocently spoke.

Bo Yiliang and Wen Xiaoxiao felt incredibly awkward.

Both their cheeks and ear tips turned red.

Wen Xiaoxiao, still with misty eyes, heard Wen Bei’s innocent words and instantly came back to her senses.

With an awkward cough, Wen Xiaoxiao asked, “Baby, why are you back so soon?”

“Mom, didn’t you and Daddy say you’d leave in a few days? Will uncle come with us?”

Wen Bei asked. Her chubby face was filled with curiosity and confusion.

“Mom, I want uncle to come with us.” Wen Mo ran over, hugged Wen Xiaoxiao’s other leg, and said coquettishly.

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at Wen Runhan’s hopeful eyes, and her heart softened. She thought that she hadn’t been with him for a long time, and if she didn’t take him with her, there would definitely be a knot in her heart.

After some consideration, she decided to take him along. If there were any dangers, she could keep him and the five children in the space.

Originally, she hadn’t planned to bring him because the journey was too dangerous. No one can predict what will happen.

But leaving the five children behind wasn’t an option either. After all, she didn’t feel at ease leaving them here.

“Alright, if you want to come, come along!” Wen Xiaoxiao smiled at Wen Runhan and replied.

“Thank you, sister.” Wen Runhan happily smiled. It was great. His sister was taking him along.

Before the apocalypse, he had always stayed in the orphanage and rarely went out.

Because of their young age, the director never took them out. He only ensured that they had food and clothes so that they would not starve or freeze to death.

After the apocalypse, he came out. Unfortunately, the cities had mostly turned into ruins, infested with zombies, and the air carried a nauseating and foul stench.

At first, he was unable to bear the smell. It made him feel like he was vomiting every time he smelled it. However, he gradually grew accustomed to it because, whether you liked it or not, you could always smell it.

Although going outside was very dangerous, the buildings were dilapidated, and there was not much to see, he felt happy and fortunate to be able to leave with his sister and the group.

“Mom, kiss.” Wen Xiao tilted his little head and pouted his lips for a kiss.

Bo Yiliang on the side watched the little brats. They really came at the wrong time.

Thinking about it, he felt a bit disheartened. After so much effort, he and his wife were finally getting close, only to be disrupted by a few brats.

Looking at the cubs who hadn’t even reached his knees, he decided to forgive them. Who told them to be his children?

Wen Xiaoxiao smiled and lifted Wen Xiao, planting a kiss on his chubby cheek.

“Mom, not here, it’s here.” Wen Xiao pointed to his own mouth.

Bo Yiliang’s face darkened. This kid was really pushing his luck. How could that be a place he could kiss? That was his exclusive spot.

He said with a dark face, “Only I can kiss there. Can’t you understand?”

“Why can you, but I can’t?” Wen Xiao was unconvinced and asked indignantly.

“Because she’s my wife,” Bo Yiliang replied.

“But she’s my mom!” Wen Xiao was not to be outdone.

Watching the exchange between father and son, Wen Xiaoxiao felt a bit speechless.

One was her child’s father, and the other was her precious son.

Yet both seemed to be getting more and more childish. Wen Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but feel exasperated with Bo Yiliang’s behavior.

It’s sad that Wen Xiaoxiao once again doesn’t really consider her brother all that much. If it wasn’t for her children mentioning it, she wouldn’t have even bothered to bring Wen Runhan along. Her reasoning of not taking him due to the danger doesn’t even hold up because she planned on taking her children with her. She didn’t feel it safe to leave her children at the base, but felt fine leaving her younger brother there. Wen Xiaoxiao clearly doesn’t put much thought into Wen Runhan, so it’s good that at least the children care for and consider him. Hopefully she’ll change her ways soon because at this point it doesn’t even make much sense to have a brother who’s practically non-existent in her thoughts.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
