Not long after leaving the space, the children woke up.
Wen Xiaoxiao took them for a stroll, exploring the surroundings. Soon, the sky started to darken.
In the evening, Wen Xiaoxiao and the children waited in the living room for Bo Yiliang’s and others’ return.
Her heart couldn’t settle down without seeing him back.
On the outskirts, an RV was driving back in their direction.
The process of picking them up was not very smooth.
They encountered a mutated giant python and later mutated rats.
The rats were small in size, not only fast but also numerous, causing a delay.
During the journey, they also encountered another group trying to stop the RV. In the end, the two groups had a fight.
Bo Yiliang’s group only had four members who had super powers including himself, while the other one, Cheng Yi, had no fighting ability.
When faced with a group of over ten people with supernatural abilities, it was a challenging fight.
However, Bo Yiliang was also a good fighter, not to mention that he has two abilities, so they managed to reach a temporary stalemate.
But he still got some injuries during the fight, though he seemed accustomed to it.
Fortunately, the return journey was relatively uneventful.
Bo Yiliang looked at the base getting closer and closer, and then glanced at his injured arm in silence.
The wound on his arm was still bleeding, but he didn’t show any signs of discomfort. It was obvious that he was used to such situations.
“Yiliang, I’m sorry. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have been injured.” Meng Qing, with his baby face, looked apologetically at Bo Yiliang.
Bo Yiliang raised his eyes and gave him a meaningful smile.
Meng Qing felt a shiver down his spine after seeing it.
That smile made Meng Qing’s heart uneasy.
The car arrived at its destination, and everyone inside the RV was stunned by the scene in front of them.
They didn’t expect everything to be so neat and undamaged. From the houses to the whole place. It was clean, with no signs of ruin.
Even Wu Xiaoyi, who usually showed little expression, wore a face of shock.
Because he did not expect that their living quarters would be so impressive.
He initially thought that the base’s houses would not be that good, but he was taken aback by the quality.
Rows of houses surrounded by vast land made him think that if they planted some vegetation, it would undoubtedly become a picturesque landscape.
He believed it would be breathtaking.
Wen Xiaoxiao heard the commotion and walked out of the living room.
As she stepped outside, she saw the approaching RV heading in her direction.
Before long, the car stopped not far from her.
One by one, the survivors got off the RV.
The elderly, filled with excitement, felt that they had come to the right place.
The other survivors shared the sentiment.
The sight of three-story buildings caught their eye.
This is a scene they could hardly have imagined before.
For these ordinary families, the houses they now saw were where they would live in the future. Happiness welled up in their hearts.
Even the slightly older children were extremely delighted.
Because they realized they wouldn’t have to endure hunger and cold anymore and that their future homes would be such beautiful houses.
Many survivors were filled with yearning and gratitude.
They had wandered through many places without finding somewhere that could accommodate them.
And this place seemed to be their haven.
Wen Xiaoxiao walked forward and greeted them.
Her gaze then shifted to Bo Yiliang and the others as they got off the RV.
She wandered her eyes, trying to find injuries on him.
Finally, when she noticed Bo Yiliang’s still-bleeding arm, she furrowed her brows in concern.
Does the base have electricity? I’m wondering if it’s self-sufficient in things like water, electricity, and gas, because if so, then they’ve hit the ultimate jackpot in homes. As for Meng Qing, I have a feeling that Bo Yiliang is going to put all the blame on him for his injury so that Wen Xiaoxiao takes out her anger, frustration, and worry on Meng Qing rather than himself, lol.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
