Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Mutated Giant Python

A mutated giant python.

Its head was very big, almost the size of a child’s head, spitting out red venoms. The pitch-black and chilling snake python fixed its eyes on the RV.

Bo Yiliang furrowed his brows and used his mental power to survey the surroundings.

On both sides, numerous trees could be found. They have withered leaves, and their willow branches are swaying in the gloomy wind.

Cheng Yi, who was sitting in the front row, was so frightened that he didn’t dare to utter a single word.

“Yiliang, what’s the situation outside?” Meng Qing asked nervously. The others were also as nervous as him.

“Bang, bang, bang…”

The mutated giant python outside looked at the people in the RV with disdain.

With its massive snake tail, it forcefully slammed the RV, as if intending to smash it to pieces before it would stop.

The sound of “bang, bang, bang” reached the ears of several people inside.

Bo Yiliang tried to use his mental power to attack the seven-inch part of the mutated giant python and its snake head.

Although it has some effect, it’s not enough. The giant python is too large and its skin is thick, so the attack is still far from enough.

“Let’s go out and attack!” Qi Yan said as he looked at Bo Yiliang’s obviously pale face.

If the three of them don’t go out, they can only rely on Bo Yiliang’s mental power to fight the giant python. However, they can’t assist much from inside the RV and can only watch anxiously.

Bo Yiliang felt the increasing pain of using his energy too much and withdrew his mental power. He planned to rest for a moment before striking again after resting.

He informed the three of them about the situation outside.

“No, it’s too dangerous to go out. There are trees all around, and we don’t know if those trees are mutated. Leaving aside the issue of whether the trees are mutated, our geographical location is unfavorable. The road isn’t wide, a bit narrow, and the mutated giant python is large enough to completely block our path.” Bo Yiliang analyzed the situation for them.

“So, what should we do next? Rely on your mental power?” Qi Yan said with concern.

“If we really do that, we won’t be able to help at all, and your mental power will eventually be exhausted.” Jiang Fuci also voiced his worry.

Bo Yiliang was actually worried at first. If his mental power really goes out, death will be waiting for them.

But he slowly discovered that his mental abilities seemed to be subtly breaking through.

This is an opportunity and a chance to survive for him.

He doesn’t fear death, but he fears not seeing the people he cares about, especially Wen Xiaoxiao and the children.

Wen Xiaoxiao stayed in the room, feeling a bit uneasy and sensing that something was about to happen.

After glancing at the children and calming herself, she said, “How about I take you all out for a stroll?”

In addition to her five children and younger brother, there were five others she had brought out of the warehouse. They obediently nodded in agreement.

Wen Runhan asked, “Sister, where are we going?”

“You’ll find out when we get there,” Wen Xiaoxiao replied.

Carrying Wen Xiao in her arms, followed by the group of carrot heads, they descended the stairs and went outside.

Yun Jiao and her daughter were in the kitchen organizing things and didn’t come along, but Pei Xi and Cheng Yao did.

The relationship between Pei Xi and Cheng Yao was getting better and better.

Originally, the two of them were close in age, so naturally they found common topics when talking to each other.

Wen Xiaoxiao took the group to a piece of land not far from the house.

The land comes with them and could be used for planting crops and other things to sustain them.

Wen Xiaoxiao planned for water-ability users and wood-ability users to oversee these tasks. Those young and middle-aged people without abilities could participate in planting. Other people with abilities would be assigned tasks later. The elderly wouldn’t have to work, but their children should do more to maintain fairness. As for the elderly people who have no children and have weak bodies, they would receive some food assistance.

She envisioned transforming this empty land into a place where they could grow various crops, resembling a rural place where people worked the fields to make a living.

Additionally, she planned to build a kindergarten for the children to play in and study in so that the little ones wouldn’t get bored.

“Mom, are we going to live here from now on?” Wen Bei raised her small head and looked at Wen Xiaoxiao with a pair of big wet eyes.

“Yes! We will live here from now on, and many more people will come here. It’ll be lively like it used to be.”

“Mom, will there be a school here?” Wen Mo looked at his mom and asked.

He hasn’t attended school yet. Although he knew a few characters, there are still many he didn’t recognize.

Wen Yang and Wen Heng pouted their lips. They didn’t want to go to school.

At this time, the eldest brother is still thinking about going to school. It’s not that he is attacking the eldest brother, but he feels that it’s wishful thinking. Wen Hang thought.

Wen Yang wasn’t very interested in studying, so he didn’t say much.

Wen Xiaoxiao, however, didn’t expect her eldest son to express a desire for education. He really is a goal-oriented person.

She thought for a while and said, “We’ll find some teachers when the time comes. We’ll see then!”

  1. M&M's says:

I don’t know how Cheng Yi could not see a gigantic creature up ahead while driving, so I’ll just assume it popped out from the nearby trees quickly, lol. I wonder how Bo Yiliang and the others are going to deal with a gigantic python, though, considering their limited abilities. Maybe they could try to injure its eyes or everyone could try to attack at one point to weaken it more easily?

As for Wen Xiaoxiao’s ideas toward the base, they’re pretty good so far. I forgot to consider that not every supernatural person can necessarily fight zombies with their abilities and without a proper water source and farming tools, it would be difficult to cultivate the lands. That brings to me wonder, though, if there is a proper waste disposal system in the base for bathrooms and whatnot, and if there is one, I’m guessing it’ll automatically empty and clean itself, lol.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
