Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

I Am Her Man

On the other side, Bo Yiliang took the blankets and went to the warehouse.

Wu Xiaoyi looked at the approaching figure and asked, “Who are you? Where’s Xiaoxiao?”

Bo Yiliang looked at him coldly and said, “I am her man. She’s resting inside.”

Bo Yiliang raised an eyebrow provocatively, staring at him.

Hearing his words, Wu Xiaoyi felt a bit stifled and uncomfortable. The look in Bo Yiliang’s eyes carried a complicated expression.

Taking the blankets from Bo Yiliang’s hand, Wu Xiaoyi’s eyes were slightly lowered, lost in thought.

“That’s it.” Bo Yiliang said, then turned around and left.

Wu Xiaoyi watched his retreating figure, his eyes deepening.

After distributing the blankets to a few people, Wu Xiaoyi closed the warehouse door.

Bo Yiliang returned to the RV and went to Wen Xiaoxiao’s room. He knocked a few times, but there was no response.

After thinking for a while, he went back to his own room.

Wen Xiaoxiao naturally heard the knocking but didn’t want to open the door.

The little boy, who was initially getting a bit sleepy, looked at the five children lying on her bed and asked, “Sister, who are they?”

Looking at the five chubby, soft babies on her bed, the little boy was curious. He had only seen dark and dirty children before and had never seen such white and chubby ones.

“They? They are the children of Sister and that man.” Wen Xiaoxiao said with a smiled and looked at the five babies on the bed with a heart full of tenderness.

Wen Xiaoxiao patted the little boy’s head and said, “Go to bed! It’s already very late.”

“Okay.” The little boy walked to the small bed not far from Wen Xiaoxiao’s bed and lay down, then covered himself with a warm and soft blanket. This is something he has not dared dream of since the apocalypse. Now it has become a luxury.

Through the gap in the blankets, he watched the sister who smiled gently and carefully covered her children with a blanket. Envy appeared in his eyes.

He grew up in an orphanage where there were many children like him who had no parents.

He once asked the dean why he didn’t have parents, and the answer he got was, “Your parents have already passed away, so you can only come here.”

At that time, he burst into tears.

Gradually, he stopped asking.

Children in the orphanage are more or less adopted soon, but no one wanted him.

They all disliked him because he didn’t like to smile. Even the children in the orphanage disliked him.

Because he really couldn’t smile. Everywhere he went, he was ostracized, the only lonely person among so many children.

Thinking about the past, the little boy hid under the blanket and silently shed tears, not letting himself make a sound.

Wen Xiaoxiao carefully tucked the little arms of her five babies into blankets one by one to keep them warm.

She then noticed the little boy and found that his whole body was shrinking into the blanket. The blanket was slightly shaking because of the little boy’s crying.

Wen Xiaoxiao looked over. It was obvious that he was crying. She quickly walked to him and saw his huddled body, sniffling and looking pitiful.

Seeing him like this, a pang of pain struck her heart.

His action reminded her of her past self—lacking a sense of security, helpless, and scared.

Wen Xiaoxiao gently touched his head, squatting down to be at eye level, and said, “I’m sorry. Sister should have found you earlier, so that you wouldn’t have to suffer so much.”

“I’m your real sister, born to the same mom and dad. But unfortunately, our parents went to another world due to a car accident.”

Listening to Wen Xiaoxiao’s soft words, the little boy gradually calmed down.

Blinking his moist eyes, his voice choked with emotion as he asked, “Are you really my sister? Then why did you come to find me only now?”

“Because my sister went through some difficulties, and her memories weren’t clear at that time. She only remembered in the past few days,” Wen Xiaoxiao patiently explained.

Perhaps due to exhaustion or finding peace, he fell asleep.

Wen Xiaoxiao sighed and also returned to lie down on the bed.

Meanwhile, Bo Yiliang couldn’t sleep at all at this moment. Images of him forcibly kissing Wen Xiaoxiao replayed in his mind.

“Her lips.”

“Very soft and sweet.”

He couldn’t help, but…

Slowly taste her beauty.

Images of her blushing and covering her face crossed his mind, and a smile crept onto Bo Yiliang’s lips, which seemed unreal.

Not long after Wen Xiaoxiao lay down, she sneezed loudly.

Wen Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but murmur quietly, “That idiot is talking about me, making me sneeze so loudly.”

Rubbing her nose, she soon fell sound asleep.

It was already the early hours of the morning, and it won’t be long before the sky starts to get brighter.

Wen Xiaoxiao was truly exhausted. After all, she had only laid down for a short time before setting out in the RV to find her brother.

  1. M&M's says:

Already declaring his sovereignty over Wen Xiaoxiao to his love rival (not), I have to say I like Bo Yiliang’s aggressive and dominant stance, lol. I just wonder if Wen Xiaoxiao will attempt to ignore him when he starts being more obvious in his affections toward her because she still hasn’t figured out her own feelings toward him. I also wonder if Wu Xiaoyi will attempt to rekindle his childhood sweetheart relationship with her, even though it’s obviously a lost cause.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
