Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

I Planted It

Wen Xiaoxiao, facing their curious gazes, didn’t conceal anything.

Sitting on the sofa with a cheerful smile, she said, “I grew them myself.”

“What????”

Jiang Fuci exaggeratedly opened his mouth into an O shape, looking somewhat incredulous.

How… How could she grow them like this?

“I bought many seeds before, and I have the ability to manipulate plants, so I can accelerate their growth.”

Bo Yiliang looked at the energetic Wen Xiaoxiao, her confident appearance making him inexplicably move. Watching her, he found her strangely cute.

After spending so much time together, Bo Yiliang had developed quite a liking for Wen Xiaoxiao. He just struggled with expressing himself and didn’t know how to talk to her.

Soon, Pei Xi came out of the kitchen, carrying the freshly washed fruits and placing them on the tea table.

“Eat up! They taste really good.” Wen Xiaoxiao confidently spoke to them. She was very confident. These fruits grew in her space, nurtured by spiritual water and energy. The taste was undoubtedly much better than the ones sold in markets.

Meng Qing quickly picked up a strawberry and tasted it. The vivid red color made it look alluring. Ah, darn it! Blame his poor Chinese skills for using ‘alluring’ to describe a strawberry!

Meng Qing thought to himself: Anyway, he is a bad student, and he didn’t deserve better.

After taking a bite, Meng Qing squinted his eyes. The strawberry, both sour and sweet, tasted absolutely delightful.

It had been a long time since he had eaten any fruit. After taking a bite of the strawberry, he felt it was incredibly delicious.

Delicious beyond words.

Meng Qing, the guy with no integrity, began to indulge in gluttony.

Yun Jiao and the others hadn’t come out. They were staying in their rooms, doing who knows what.

Wen Xiaoxiao didn’t care. As long as they behaved honestly, it was fine.

“Xiao Xi, go and bring some fruits to Yun Jiao,” Wen Xiaoxiao instructed.

Look at this good-natured girl! Wen Xiaoxiao indulged in self-love once again and thought to herself narcissistically, thinking that good girls like her were hard to come by.

Jing Fuci also started tasting the fruits. When he bit into a small kumquat and chewed it a few times, he found that it was much more delicious than what he usually ate.

Unable to resist, he ate a bit more and tasted the red tomatoes and strawberries. They were also exceptionally good, even better than he had imagined.

QI Yan, who usually doesn’t eat much fruit and only eats occasionally, also picked up some and began eating when he saw them enjoying the fruits so much.

“Knock, knock, knock…”

Yun Jiao was immersed in reading a novel inside the room. That’s not right; it should be that the three of them were engrossed in a novel.

As for where the novels came from, they were obviously brought along when they escaped.

At this moment, the three of them were reading an apocalyptic novel with gusto.

Cheng Yao lay on the bed, engrossed in reading a male-oriented post-apocalyptic novel, passing the time in boredom.

In the male-oriented post-apocalyptic novel, the male lead was an extraordinarily ordinary person.

He has no car, no house, and is basically penniless.

After he went out and had an accident, he was reborn in a post-apocalyptic world and began a journey to turn his life around.

As for Yun Jiao and her daughter, they were into the type of novels where the characters experienced a counterattack in the apocalypse.

Yun Jiao was the housewife at home. She picked up novels to pass the time when she had nothing else to do.

Later on, she became a fan of novels and couldn’t help but immerse herself in them.

Her son and daughter, however, weren’t big fans of novels. Her son liked playing games, and her daughter enjoyed watching live broadcasts and following stars.

Perhaps due to being too absorbed in their reading, the three of them didn’t hear the knocking on the door from outside.

Pei Xi began knocking on the door again. “Knock, knock, knock.”

At this time, Yun Jiao finally heard the knocking outside the door. She got off the bed and went to open the door.

“Aunt Yun, this is from Sister Wen. She asked me to bring these fruits for you,” Pei Xi said to Yun Jiao.

  1. M&M's says:

I’m honestly shocked and appalled that Wen Xiaoxiao has the confidence to call herself “good-natured” with her cold attitude toward strangers and not caring one bit about others’ struggles and deaths from the apocalypse. It’s nice of her to consider others when there’s abundance, but that’s only when she feels like it’s convenient and mostly done on a whim; that certainly doesn’t make her “good-natured” in any way and seems very inconsistent with her cold nature and previous actions and thoughts. The only person who truly personifies that description is that Wu person who’s a police officer and helped many ordinary citizens from the zombies. He knows he won’t get anything in return and mostly acts out of a sense of duty and righteousness, but at least he does things in good intentions because he cares about others’ safety.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
