Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Xiaoai Village

Chapter 43: Xiaoai Village

Wen Xiaoxiao sat on the sofa. Her eyes were slightly closed, and her long eyelashes were trembling gently. No one knew what she was thinking.

Bo Yiliang laid flat on the bed. When he felt that the pain in his heart was gradually subsiding, he slowly calmed down.

Getting up, he went to the bathroom for a shower, washing his hair as well, then came out.

Wen Xiaoxiao returned to the room and took out the five children from the space.

She took them downstairs, and Yun Jiao had prepared the meal.

After several people had the meal, they went out to gather supplies.

After that, they quickly set out for B.C.

Originally, it only took a few hundred kilometers to reach B City, but now it requires several thousand kilometers to reach there.

The RV drove through the town. For some reason, there were fewer zombies here. Or perhaps they had all fled elsewhere!

At first, they considered taking the highway, but then, thinking that many people would be on the highway and that it would be congested and unsafe, they decided to take the lower road.

The lower road was also unsafe, but compared to the highway, it was much better.

“It looks like a small village.” Bo Yiliang looked out of the window and observed the surroundings. “This place should be a small village.”

Outside, there were vast fields with withered crops, indicating their death.

Not far ahead were rows of tiled houses, but there were few high-rise buildings.

As the RV entered the village, they could see a small part of the village’s appearance.

Tie Niu, who was rushing to the village chief’s house, felt a bit scared when he saw the RV suddenly appear. He quickened his pace and headed towards the village chief’s house.

“Village Chief, Village Chief, something’s not right. A car has arrived!” Tie Niu panted as he ran into the yard. Tieniu’s loud voice could be heard before, even before he stepped in.

Tie Niu, true to his name, which means Iron Bull, was a tall and strong man resembling a bull. However, he was a bit of a simpleton, giving people a foolish impression.

“What’s wrong? What’s all the fuss about?” A man around fifty or sixty years old walked out of the room. His voice sounded a little old, but it carried a bit of dignity.

Tie Niu rushed in and panted. “Village Chief, I just saw a car driving in.”

The village chief frowned and said this to Tieniu. “Take me outside to have a look.”

“Alright!” Tie Niu led the village chief outside.

“When I came just now, it seemed they came from that side of town.” Tie Niu scratched his head and said while grinning foolishly.

The village chief walked outside and saw the RV.

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at the approaching pair and then glanced at Bo Yiliang. She opened her mouth to ask, “Should we continue on the road or stay here for the night?”

“Let’s keep going!” Bo Yiliang replied without much thought. He urgently wanted to get back home, worrying about the safety of his family.

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at the other three and asked them. “What about you?”

“Keep going!” They were also anxious to return home, worried about the safety of their families.

Wen Xiaoxiao felt indifferent. Seeing everyone eager to continue the journey, she saw no reason to stay.

Even when two people approached, the RV didn’t stop. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to, but they didn’t want to cause trouble or delay the journey.

As the RV passed them and went to another road.

The village chief originally wanted to inquire, but seeing the two cars pass by without intending to stop, he felt a bit uneasy.

Tie Niu watched the RV’s departing figure and mumbled, “It’s almost dark today, why are they still driving forward!”

Wen Xiaoxiao and her group were unaware of their thoughts. Even if they knew, it wouldn’t make much difference.

The RV became quiet, with everyone sitting silently on the sofa, lost in their own thoughts. Wen Xiaoxiao looked at them in silence and didn’t say a word.

At least the small village seems somewhat safe, considering Tie Niu ran around outside safely and even brought the elder village chief outside without much concern. Hopefully their village will continue to be relatively safe from zombies.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
