The leading zombie rushed toward the milk tea shop, only to find it completely empty and devoid of any person.
Furiously roaring, it seemed that the delicious food that was about to enter its mouth had run away.
The night passed quickly, and soon the day broke.
The zombies had already dispersed to other places.
Bai Xiaolian spent the entire night without sleep, fearing that the zombies would find her, so she just leaned against the wall and closed her eyes for a while.
Her eyes had obvious dark circles around them, and her face looked very pale, causing her to look sickly.
Meanwhile, Wen Xiaoxiao emerged from the bedroom with a refreshed look.
Then she walked into the kitchen and busied herself, steaming hot buns while thinking about some things.
She felt that she should find two ordinary people, one to drive the RV and the other to cook.
This way, she would have other things to do, and Bo Yiliang’s brother couldn’t possibly keep driving the RV all the time! It would be embarrassing.
With this thought in mind, Wen Xiaoxiao continued making the steamed buns, one batch is already done, and the porridge is nearly cooked.
She then started another batch of steaming because one wouldn’t be enough for the number of people.
Considering the five children were still young and in need of nourishment, she also made egg custard.
Wen Xiaoxiao worked swiftly and skillfully, without unnecessary chatter.
Bo Yiliang came down from the second floor of the RV and headed to the kitchen. Watching Wen Xiaoxiao cook earnestly, a strange feeling occupied his heart.
Once Wen Xiaoxiao finished cooking, she asked the now-awake Bo Yiliang to call everyone for the meal.
After the meal, everyone patted their full bellies, and it was obvious that they were satisfied.
Sitting on the sofa, Wen Xiaoxiao shared her idea of finding more people, and one by one, none of them refused.
They continued to set off on the road towards the base while planning to find two more people to help.
–
“Dad, big brother is starving to death!” The little girl squatted on the ground, crying and feeling extremely guilty.
If she hadn’t been so hungry and eaten the last of the food, her big brother wouldn’t be in this state.
The little boy had already fainted from hunger, his face ashen and his lips drained of color.
Cheng Yi wore a distressed expression as he looked at his son, who had already fainted from hunger. He was utterly helpless.
He wanted to go out, but if something happened to him, the three of them would find it even harder to survive.
His wife was already crying uncontrollably and was caressing their son’s small face.
Sitting on the sofa in the RV, Wen Xiaoxiao seemed to hear someone crying.
Despite looking outside the RV window, she didn’t see anyone. It seemed that the sounds were coming from a room.
“Bo Yiliang, did you hear someone crying?” she asked Bo Yiliang.
“Yes! Should we go down and check it out?” Bo Yiliang replied.
“Alright!”
Wen Xiaoxiao was instructed to park the car where it was, and along with Bo Yiliang, they headed in the direction of the sound.
“Son, Mom and Dad are useless. You must hold on! Dad will go find food for you.” Cheng Yi couldn’t handle it anymore. His son, daughter, and wife were all starving.
Even if it meant dying, he had to come back as soon as possible with food for them to eat.
Wen Xiaoxiao, who was standing outside, fell silent after hearing the commotion inside.
She thought that the person inside must be a good father, and his character should be also good.
It just matched perfectly with what she was looking for in a driver, saving her time searching.
“What do you think about the person inside?” she asked Bo Yiliang.
“He seems pretty good, you can give it a try.” Bo Yiliang naturally understood what Wen Xiaoxiao meant.
So he raised his hand and knocked on the door.
“Knock, knock, knock…”
The knocking from outside reached the people inside. Cheng Yi asked cautiously, “Who’s there?”
“Hello, can I take a look inside? I can provide you with the food you need.” Wen Xiaoxiao said from outside the door.
Cheng Yi’s expression shifted upon hearing this. At this moment, he really needed food for his son.
It looks like Cheng Yi found a food source for his family, lol. Maybe they can serve as more of a family to Pei Xi who seems invisible in their current party. With so many extra people, though, Wen Xiaoxiao will have to limit everyone’s food intake or there won’t be enough to last everyone and she’ll have to reveal her space.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
