“Chi… Brother Chi.” Bai Xiaolian said with a trembling voice.
She walked over to Bai Chi who was sleeping on the table and gently nudged him.
Bai Chi woke up dazedly. Looking at Bai Xiaolian, he asked in confusion, “What’s wrong, Xiaolian?”
Outside… there were many zombies walking in their direction.
“Roar, roar…”
“Roar, roar, roar…”
The chaotic sounds of footsteps echoed from not far away.
Bai Chi suddenly woke up. Hearing the sounds of the zombies outside, he was filled with fear.
His face quickly turned pale, and his heart thumped nervously.
“What to do, what to do?” Bai Chi thought to himself.
Suddenly, he remembered something and walked to the window to check. He noticed that Wen Xiaoxiao’s car was still in its original place, which relieved him.
He couldn’t help but reveal a wicked smile and think, “Since they’re blocking the zombies for us, Xiaolian and I will be safe. But if they get injured, that would be even better. Then the car will be mine.”
Outside, the zombies were moving quickly, drawn by the scent of something delicious.
They had no thoughts, they simply followed their instincts.
Everyone was fast asleep. Wen Xiaoxiao groggily got up from her bed and headed towards the bathroom.
She couldn’t hear the sounds from the outside. It was as if she had been isolated.
–
“Dad, I’m so hungry!” A little girl hiding in a small room touched her tiny belly and looked at a tall man and said.
“I’m sorry, Yue’er. It’s Dad who is useless.” Cheng Yi said with a guilty face as he looked at his daughter.
His wife who was sitting beside him covered her face, crying as she watched her son, daughter, and husband. She felt a deep sense of pain.
A little boy of about thirteen or fourteen years old was already weak from hunger.
Originally, they were driving towards a base, but they were robbed on the way by a person with supernatural powers who took their car and supplies.
Later, they found some food nearby and have survived in this small room.
The room was small, with nothing left in it. It was clearly a very small room, and everything inside had been looted.
Thinking of what happened in the past few days, Cheng Yi never imagined that it would happen.
He looked at his son who was now so weak from hunger and felt a deep sense of pain.
It was already very dark outside, and there were even a few sounds of zombie roars. Going outside was not an option.
–
Bai Chi had been watching outside, hoping the zombies would kill Wen Xiaoxiao and her group so that they could take over Wen Xiaoxiao’s RV.
Bai Chi thought evilly, and the smile on his lips became even wider.
Unfortunately for him, his plan was bound to fail.
The zombies did not attack Wen Xiaoxiao as Bai Chi expected. Instead, they passed by Wen Xiaoxiao’s RV as if they couldn’t see it.
The zombies bypassed the RV and rushed in their direction. Seeing that the situation was not good, Bai Chi pulled Bai Xiaolian’s arm and pulled towards the back door without saying a word.
This back door was found by Bai Xiaolian, and it came in handy this time. They can use it to escape.
“Brother Chi, I’m so scared!” Bai Xiaolian was was really scared. Hearing the zombies getting closer and closer and trying to break in how could she not be afraid?
Bai Chi rushed through the back door with all his speed, pulling Bai Xiaolian along, and then they headed into another room and blocked the door tightly.
He sat down on the ground weakly and gasped for air.
Bai Xiaolian stared at the door with a resentful expression on her face, her thoughts unknown.
Bai Xiaolian couldn’t help but think of Wen Xiaoxiao. She was so angry that she wanted to beat her to death.
She hated Wen Xiaoxiao for being so heartless and not allowing her and Brother Chi to go inside the RV.
She didn’t know if it was her imagination playing tricks on her, but she always felt that Wen Xiaoxiao had changed.
Her aura, her way of speaking, everything seemed different.
She was even more charming than before, and it filled Bai Xiaolian with jealousy.
As for the person she had on her mind, Wen Xiaoxiao, she was sleeping sweetly in her bed, completely unaware that Bai Xiaolian was jealous of her again at this moment.
The author has something to say:
Today, Zicha realized that someone gave the story a low rating, which made me a bit unhappy. This got me thinking.
As a new writer, I’m just a small fry, and my writing is average. I have some expressions and grammar mistakes.
If you don’t like my writing, you can remove it from your bookshelf, but please don’t give it a low rating.
If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to share. I will listen, but I can’t promise whether I’ll make changes or not because I have limited time.
I didn’t create a detailed outline for this story because, in my eyes, the characters are like real people. They’re not bound by a preset plot because they don’t know what will happen tomorrow, just like us, not knowing what will happen in our lives.
About the female lead, her character is a bit complex. She’s tough and a bit cold on the surface, but she’s actually fragile inside because she grew up as an orphan, longing for the love of parents.
For her, being transmigrated into a novel is both good and bad. It’s good because she’s no longer alone, and it’s bad because it’s an apocalyptic world.
Okay, that’s enough. I’m really thankful for your support, my dear readers. Love you all. I hope we can get along peacefully, and please don’t promote other authors’ books here, just as I won’t do the same in your spaces. This is a matter of respect for each other.
Thank you for the updates. I hope this novel still go on.
❤
wxx lives on bxl’s head rent-free lmao
I wonder how Cheng Yi and his family will survive because I’m sure Wen Xiaoxiao won’t take his family and him with them. Since they seem to lack abilities, I wonder how they’ll affect the plot because they were specially mentioned; unless they’re just used to show the cruelty of the apocalypse for normal people.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
