Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Black Rain (4)

Bo Yiliang thought to himself, ‘That’s my son, how could we be different?’

Wen Xiaoxiao bathed the five children and put them to bed, saying, “You go to sleep first! Mommy will check on your father.”

After saying that, she walked out of the room and sat on the sofa. Looking at Bo Yiliang, she threw a question, “Mr. Bo, I want to know, what is your purpose for coming here?”

“Can we go to another place to talk?” Bo Yiliang didn’t answer her.

“Sure, follow me.” said Wen Xiaoxiao, leading him to the study room.

Bo Yiliang didn’t beat around the bush and said directly, “I want to take you and the children to City B to make it easier to take care of you.”

Wen Xiaoxiao lowered her eyes and asked, “What?”

“I want to be responsible for you and the children. I ruined your life, and I should be responsible for you.” Bo Yiliang said solemnly, his expression very serious, giving people a cold feeling.

But Wen Xiaoxiao found his words quite amusing.

“I can agree to leave with you, but not now. Let’s not talk about this for the moment. First, let me tell you about the children.”

“Okay!” Bo Yiliang sat across from Wen Xiaoxiao and looked at her intently.

“The eldest, Wen Mo, has a somewhat cold and reserved personality, doesn’t talk much, probably takes after you.”

“Second child, Wen Heng, he’s a bit warm, has the best temper, but he’s also the most stubborn. Once he sets his mind on something, even ten oxen can’t pull him back.”

“Third child, Wen Yang, he’s a bit carefree, like a little sun, with a more delicate mind.”

“The fourth child, Wen Xiao, is lively and likes to cling to people. His health is not very good, but he’s improved a lot after some nourishment.”

“The youngest child, Wen Bei, is cheerful and loves to laugh. She is the joy of the family and is a bit mischievous.”

Wen Xiaoxiao introduced each of them one by one.

After hearing this, Bo Yiliang fell into deep thought and said, “You’ve worked hard over the years.”

“They are my treasures, it’s not hard,” Wen Xiaoxiao said with a loving expression, thinking of them, her face filled with a warm smile.

“Rumble…”

Suddenly, a burst of thunder roared. Wen Xiaoxiao’s heart skipped a beat.

She quickly ran to the bedroom. “Are you all right? Did it scare you?”

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at them anxiously and asked

Bo Yiliang followed closely behind.

“Mom, I’m scared.” Wen Bei and Wen Xiao hugged Wen Xiaoxiao and said.

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at the pale faces of her five children and felt worried.

Wen Xiaoxiao knitted her brows. Typically, thunderstorms don’t seem this intense.

“Rumble…”

Another thunderclap echoed, making the night as bright as day.

Wen Xiaoxiao turned to look at Bo Yiliang behind her and said, “You watch the children. I’ll go outside and take a look.”

“Or should I go?” Bo Yiliang suggested.

“No need.” Wen Xiaoxiao refused his offer. She had a feeling that something was not quite right.

As she walked to the window, the light from the lightning revealed an unusual sight outside.

Her eyes widened as she realized that the rain outside was different.

The rain was black and had a foul smell.

Wen Xiaoxiao closed the window, and her expression turned increasingly uneasy.

“What’s wrong?” Bo Yiliang asked, noticing that something was amiss with Wen Xiaoxiao.

“The rain outside is black with a rancid smell. I don’t think this is normal.”

Bo Yiliang’s brows furrowed tightly. As if thinking of something, his pupils shrank.

Could it be?

Could it be that this is the virus caused by the meteor? The more Bo Yiliang thought about it, the more he felt it might be true.

He felt a growing sense of unease.

Wen Xiaoxiao slowly understood what was going on.

The apocalypse was about to come, and she felt her heart jolt. It was supposed to arrive in July, but it was happening ahead of time.

Could it be because of her arrival, creating a butterfly effect?

The more Wen Xiaoxiao thought about it, the more she felt that might be the reason. It seemed to be because of her arrival.

I highly doubt her arrival affected the timing of the meteor landing because all she did was possess a body and didn’t make any significant changes. I can only attribute it to an alternate reality similar to the novel or that it was written from the perspective of the female protagonist, hence the differences, because she might not have had a thorough understanding of the situation at the time. I wonder if it’ll be properly explained later.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
