Wen Xiaoxiao understood her son’s reasons for not calling him “Dad.” It was simple, he has a little knot in his heart.
Even if he longed for a father, he hadn’t seen him once in the four years.
There was still a little resentment in his heart, and because of this, he became more mature than other children.
Wen Xiaoxiao sighed. Even though she felt nothing for Bo Yiliang, she had to admit that he was also the father of her five children.
Looking at Wen Mo, she said, “Son, he is your father. Why hasn’t he come back for many years? There must be reasons.”
“But he also explained it earlier and you heard it, right? He went on a mission, got shot, and was in a coma for a year. He just woke up and came to find us, which means he cares about us,” Wen Xiaoxiao said.
“Alright, take these cookies and cakes to them. Mom will have the dinner ready soon.” Wen Xiaoxiao spoke to Wen Mo as she busied herself with the food.
Wen Mo came out of the kitchen and placed the cookies and little cakes on the coffee table without saying a word.
He looked at Bo Yiliang with a complex look in his eyes.
Bo Yiliang gazed at the child who bore a striking resemblance to him and felt a sense of helplessness.
It seemed that he needed to explain things to them properly. Otherwise, the three kids wouldn’t forgive him.
It didn’t take long for Wen Xiaoxiao to bring the food out of the kitchen.
“Dinner’s ready.” With so many people, Wen Xiaoxiao had prepared a lot of food.
They sat at the table, quietly eating without saying a word.
Qi Yan managed to eat two bowls of rice, causing his belly to become round.
After finishing washing the dishes, Wen Xiaoxiao looked at Bo Yiliang and asked, “Aren’t you leaving?”
“No, there are some things I want to talk to you about.” Bo Yiliang’s eyes fell on Wen Xiaoxiao as he replied.
Indeed, there were many things he needed to discuss with her. Now that things were going to change and something bad might happen, it was impossible to raise five children on her own.
If he left, he would take them with him.
“Then you wait a moment. I’ll go bathe them first,” Wen Xiaoxiao said to him.
“Sure.”
Wen Xiaoxiao took the five children back to their room and asked, “Do you like dad?”
Wen Bei and Wen Xiao nodded, but Wen Mo, Wen Heng, and Wen Yang didn’t respond.
Wen Xiaoxiao didn’t know what else to say, so she looked at the three of them with a hint of helplessness.
She walked over and patted their heads, saying softly, “Don’t you want to have a daddy? Dad’s back, why aren’t you calling him?”
The three children hung their heads, and their eyes turned red. They went over and hugged Wen Xiaoxiao.
“Mom, I can’t say it.”
Wen Bei and Wen Xiao watched their older brothers cry and started crying too.
Wen Xiaoxiao’s heart ached as she wiped away their tears and said softly, “My darlings, if you want to call him, just do it! He’s your dad.”
“Mom.”
“Okay, Mommy will take you to bathe now. You can take your time to think about it.” Wen Xiaoxiao didn’t rush them and gave them time to think about it.
“Fatherly love, motherly love.” Wen Xiaoxiao believed that both were indispensable. She hadn’t felt much fatherly or motherly love when she was young, and she didn’t want her five children to miss out on that love.
Although she didn’t like Bo Yiliang, she didn’t dislike him either.
Seeing him come to find them showed that he was a responsible person.
She could sense that he had good character and his own principles hidden in his cold demeanor.
Bo Yiliang was waiting for Wen Xiaoxiao in the living room.
Jiang Fuci looked at Bo Yiliang and opened his mouth. “Yiliang, if your aunt finds out that you have five children now, she would be overjoyed.”
Meng Qing also nodded, indicating he also agreed. That bad-tempered boy was just like Bo Yiliang, exactly the same.
Bo Yiliang gave him a cold look. “My son.”
Thank you for the new updates.
Here I thought it was only Wen Mo that Bo Yiliang had to win over, when it was also the second and third sons, lol. I appreciate how Wen Xiaoxiao is trying to make her children understand Bo Yiliang’s lack of presence all those years, though, rather than purposely putting him in a bad light due to the personal experiences of the original Wen Xiaoxiao. Both the children and Bo Yiliang need to have a chance to choose how their relationship will develop without exterior influences.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
