Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

It's Snowing

The weather was cold, and white goose feather-like snowflakes fell on the rooftops, covering the ground and roofs. Looking at it was a beautiful sight.

Seeing this white expanse was a rare sight in such a polluted apocalyptic world.

The snow continued to fall for three days and three nights, and the weather grew even colder.

Occasionally, some people would come to report to Bo Yu about people freezing to death somewhere. Everyone in the base lived in constant fear and anxiety, and the situation was starting to become chaotic.

Since the snowfall began these past few days, Wen Xiaoxiao hasn’t been sleeping inside the RV with the children.

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at the snow falling outside the window and felt particularly restless. Despite wearing thick clothes, she could still feel the chill.

Thinking of her base, she wished she could return as soon as possible. The season there was like spring all year around, and it was most suitable for the elderly to live there.

“What’s wrong? You’re sighing.” Bo Yiliang asked as he looked at Wen Xiaoxiao who was lost in thought.

“This weather is really too cold. If it continues like this, it won’t be good.” She expressed her worries, which were indeed reasonable.

The snow outside had already reached the children’s necks. One can imagine how thick it was.

The snowfall had been heavy for three days and three nights, and the children stayed in bed all the time because it was too cold. They couldn’t bear the extreme coldness.

Even Peach had sneaked into the space, while the Zombie King fearlessly stayed indoors and continued to eat.

Bo Yu’s hair had turned much whiter from the worry of seeing people die one after another. He felt a sense of helplessness.

While ability users might be able to endure, it was hard to say for ordinary people.

However, he couldn’t stop the snow, so he felt powerless in the face of it.

Although Bo Yiliang and Wen Xiaoxiao were powerful, they were not so incredible that they could fly into the sky and cover the sun.

“Peach, can I use the formation?” Wen Xiaoxiao communicated with Peach through her mind.

She didn’t use spells or formations before.

She basically relied on her superpowers, with most of her efforts focused on improving her special abilities. Spells and formations were put aside.

“Yes, Master.” Peach responded to her master’s question after hearing her question.

“Wen Xiaoxiao, why are you lost in thought again?” Bo Yiliang looked at Wen Xiaoxiao, who seemed to have drifted away, and felt helpless.

“It’s nothing. I was thinking whether we could set up a formation to isolate the snow outside,” Wen Xiaoxiao calmly said.

Bo Yiliang was taken aback, then sat beside Wen Xiaoxiao and asked, “Is that possible?”

“Yes, I just asked Peach. If it continues to snow tonight, we’ll set up the formation.” Wen Xiaoxiao said.

“Alright! Let’s go and check on the children!” The two of them had already spent a long time in the living room.

Bao’s parents were getting older and felt more sensitive to the cold. They were afraid of the cold and preferred to stay in their room.

Both of them sat in the room, with Bo Yu wearing a worried and tired expression.

He hadn’t slept well for the past three nights. He was worried about what would happen to the survivors if the snowfall intensified.

Although his living conditions were relatively good, the same couldn’t be said for ordinary people without superpowers. Their living conditions were especially poor and they couldn’t withstand the cold winds, so many people died.

Everyone in the base stayed in their rooms, huddling together under blankets to keep warm.

After Wen Xiaoxiao and Bo Yiliang entered the room, they saw the five children huddled together like silkworm cocoons.

They found it amusing and laughed as they moved around on the bed, thoroughly enjoying themselves.

The temperature in the room was quite warm. Wen Xiaoxiao didn’t feel any coldness. Instead, she felt extremely comfortable.

“Mom, why is it still snowing outside? I want to go out and play.” Wen Xiao said, feeling a bit impatient after being indoors for three days.

“Mommy doesn’t know either! But baby, please don’t go outside. It’s very cold out there, and you might turn into an ice statue.” Wen Xiaoxiao said to them in fear.

The children shrank back. “Okay, Mom, we won’t.”

“Alright, be good! Mommy will send you into the space, okay? Peach will be there inside to play with you,” Wen Xiaoxiao said.

“Okay! Okay!” Wen Xiao’s excitement grew, while Wen Heng and Wen Yang also became excited.

It had been a long time since they had entered the space. Seeing that they didn’t object, Wen Xiaoxiao looked at them again and said, “While you’re inside, remember to be good.”

Before sending the children into the space, Wen Xiaoxiao told Peach, “Take good care of them. If they get hurt, see how I deal with you.”

“Master, don’t worry! I will definitely take good care of them.” Peach patted her chest, stood up straight, and looked at her earnestly.

Although Peach wasn’t very serious, she loved the children very much.

Wen Xiaoxiao sent the five children into the space and let out a sigh of relief.

She was really afraid that the children would catch a cold. To be honest, if she didn’t have her special abilities, she was eighty percent sure that she would starve or freeze to death.

“Yiliang, I think I should set up the formation now,” Wen Xiaoxiao said.

Initially, she planned to wait until later in the evening, but now she had to do it in advance.

“Okay, I’ll accompany you.” Bo Yiliang said, holding Wen Xiaoxiao’s hand and walking outside.

Bo Yiliang’s face remained expressionless. Apart from smiling at Wen Xiaoxiao, the children, and his parents, he had never smiled at anyone else. Even with his close friends, he only smiled occasionally.

As they opened the door, a gust of cold wind swept over them, making them shiver.

“Damn, it’s so freaking cold!” Wen Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but curse softly.

Bo Yiliang was afraid that Wen Xiaoxiao would get cold, so he directly hugged her in his arms.

Feeling the warmth emanating from Bo Yiliang’s body, Wen Xiaoxiao felt cozy.

After testing the temperature outside, Wen Xiaoxiao raised her arm and came out of Bo Yiliang’s arms. She waved her hand and slowly began to set up the formation in the sky.

Wen Xiaoxiao only had a basic understanding of formations and spells.

However, it was still possible to envelop the entire base with a formation.

Bo Yiliang stood by and watched Wen Xiaoxiao set up the formation. From the initial blush on her face to her current paleness, his face became more and more worried.

Setting up the formation was not a simple task. It required a large amount of spiritual energy, and combined with the fact that Wen Xiaoxiao didn’t have much spiritual energy, she became completely exhausted after completing the entire formation. She had no strength left.

Seeing that the person was about to collapse, Bo Yiliang quickly rushed forward and carried her in his arms.

Looking at the pale face of Wen Xiaoxiao, he felt a pang of heartache. He gently touched her pale face and said with gentleness, “Xiaoxiao, I’m sorry. If it weren’t for me, you would have lived a much better life.”

Bo Yiliang looked at Wen Xiaoxiao and spoke with an expression of guilt and self-blame.
