Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Caught

The two went downstairs, and screams resounded, causing a sense of disturbance.

Frowning, Wen Xiaoxiao asked, “Liangliang, do you have any idea what’s happening outside?”

Bo Yiliang and Wen Xiaoxiao stood by the door of the RV, and the Zombie King closed the RV door when it went down.

They didn’t go down but listened for a while.

“Ah ah ah…”

“Help…”

Cheng Li had fainted from fright on the cold ground.

The other five who followed were panicking, attempting to escape, but they were caught. It doesn’t matter how much they struggled.

“Roar…”

The Zombie King roared at the people it caught, frightening them to the point of passing out.

After a while, Bo Yiliang and Wen Xiaoxiao opened the RV door and walked out.

Looking at the six people lying on the ground like stacked dolls, Wen Xiaoxiao’s mouth twitched.

“Liangliang, do you know these people?” Wen Xiaoxiao pointed at the six people lying on the ground.

Bo Yiliang looked over, then shook his head. “I don’t know them.”

Before the apocalypse arrived, he had already found Wen Xiaoxiao. Many people in the base were unfamiliar to him. As for the six on the ground, he didn’t recognize any of them. Whether they were good or bad would have to be decided tomorrow.

Seeing Wen Xiaoxiao coming out, the Zombie King pointed at the six people on the ground. “Bad, steal, steal.”

“Steal? What’s going on?” Wen Xiaoxiao was a bit puzzled, looking at the Zombie King in confusion.

The Zombie King blinked its grayish eyes. “They wanted to steal my food, so they are bad, bad.”

“Pfff,” Wen Xiaoxiao found the Zombie King in front of her somewhat cute.

After laughing for a while, Wen Xiaoxiao looked at the six people on the ground and said to Bo Yiliang, “Let’s check if they have anything on them. If not, we’ll tie them up and question them tomorrow morning.”

Bo Yiliang nodded without any objections. What Wen Xiaoxiao wanted to say was exactly what he had in mind.

After searching them, they found nothing. They felt a bit disappointed.

“Let’s tie them up. We found nothing.” Wen Xiaoxiao said.

“Okay.”

The two of them tied the six people with ropes and, disregarding the cold, threw them onto the icy ground.

With a “thump” sound, the impact made a few of them frown. It was evident how painful the fall was.

Now that the six were awake, or rather, woken up by the fall, the pain throughout their bodies almost made them cry out, but they held it back.

Cheng Li started regretting his recklessness. They had sneaked in when those guards were on a restroom break, but they were almost caught by them.

After successfully entering the Future Base, he thought they could steal the five children easily from the RV. However, they never expected a zombie to pop out. What a bad luck!

Cheng Li was on the verge of tears. Currently bound with ropes and having someone’s smelly sock stuffed into his mouth, he was almost passing out from the stench.

As for what awaited him tomorrow, he had no idea if it might be death.

“Liangliang, let’s go back to sleep! We’re all exhausted.” Wen Xiaoxiao grumbled. Her eyelids were starting to battle against each other.

The Zombie King watched Wen Xiaoxiao about to leave, and it extended its hand, saying, “Eat, eat, eat.”

Wen Xiaoxiao glanced back at the zombie king. Thinking of the six people it had dealt with, she said, “You’ll get something to eat when we go inside.”

The Zombie King eagerly followed Wen Xiaoxiao back inside.

  1. M&M's says:

I’m surprised that Chengi Li and the others aren’t more concerned about how a zombie even got into the base and wondering if it’ll come to kill them. The way they easily sneaked into the base just goes to show the poor training of the guards, which I’m surprised they haven’t improved, despite being aware that most of their food source was stolen by the traitor. I figured military men would be more wary of their surroundings and more professional in their guarding and patrolling duties. In this way, I guess the Zombie King is better than a guard dog, lol.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
