Every day or every few days, a few people would come here.
So, Wu Xiaoyi assigned them their tasks and headed towards the main gate.
The previously planted vegetables and rice had surprisingly matured quickly.
“Brother Chi, look, is that a base up ahead?” The woman hugged Bai Chi’s arm, her voice sweet, and she was rubbing against him with her body.
Bai Chi lifted his eyes and saw a majestic building ahead. The city walls were several hundred feet high.
“Let’s go check it out! Roaming outside every day and dealing with zombies is really exhausting.” After a long period of fighting, Scarface felt that he was physically and mentally exhausted. Having no permanent place to settle down, they were either wandering or staying in places that were no better than wandering.
The boss of the Violent Team nodded and said, “Let’s go in! Wandering outside every day isn’t a solution either.”
So the members of the Violent Team began walking towards the base.
Wu Xiaoyi, accompanied by Cheng Yao and Pei Xi, came out from the base.
Cheng Yao and Pei Xi were responsible for distributing loyalty pills and identity cards, respectively.
Wu Xiaoyi was in charge of recording the names, ages, and other details of the newcomers.
After spending some time together, the relationship between Pei Xi and Cheng Yao improved. After all, they were the same age. There were very few people their age at the base.
They were either too young or too old.
The three of them reached the outside of the base in a short while.
Not long after, everyone from the Violent Team arrived.
“Are you all part of the same group? What team are you?” Wu Xiaoyi said with a stern face.
Scarface took a step forward, his flesh trembling a bit. He replied in a gruff voice, “We’re from the Violent Team; what’s it to you?”
Upon hearing the newcomers, Wu Xiaoyi paused. When Wen Xiaoxiao left, she had made it clear that the Violent Team and Bai Chi with Bai Xiaolian wouldn’t be accepted.
As for the reasons behind this decision, Wu Xiaoyi was unsure. If his guess was correct, something unpleasant must have happened between them.
Having spent a considerable amount of time with Wen Xiaoxiao, Pei Xi had a bit of an understanding of her character. Although she loomed ruthless and cold-blooded, she was in fact kind-hearted.
Additionally, knowing Wen Xiaoxiao’s temperament, if you didn’t provoke her, she wouldn’t bother you either.
“I’m sorry, but we won’t let you in. Please leave!” Wu Xiaoyi’s impression of them wasn’t great. He spoke to them with an indifferent and distant tone.
At that moment, another couple with their children approached from afar.
They looked dirty, and each of them looked malnourished.
Wu Xiaoyi ignored the Violent Team members and turned to the couple, asking, “Are you looking to enter the base?”
“Yes, yes. I wonder if you’re still accepting people?” The man nervously looked at Wu Xiaoyi, afraid that he would reject them.
“We are. Come in.” Wu Xiaoyi explained the entry rules briefly.
After the couple entered the base, the expressions of the members of the Violent Team turned murderous and gloomy. They said angrily, “Why can’t we go in? Why are they allowed in?”
“Why? Maybe because I don’t like the look of you. If you have a problem with that, do you want to voice it?” Wu Xiaoyi raised an eyebrow.
Then he added, “Even if you have an issue, keep it to yourself.”
He initially didn’t have a good impression of them, and now it was even worse.
Pei Xi, knowing a bit about the situation, also held no good feelings towards them. He maintained a cold face.
If the Violent Team decides to attack newcomers coming to the base to cause problems and fear for the inhabitants and future inhabitants, I wonder how Wu Xiaoyi will respond. More than likely, though, they’ll try to use someone else’s identity badge and then be rejected forcefully by the base; I just feel sorry for the person who will probably killed in the process of having their badge stolen. At least now I know how Wen Xiaoxiao is gaining merit points without actually doing anything, though, lol. She’s lucky to have Wu Xiaoyi actively bringing people into the base and running a smooth operation.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
