Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

An Unexpected Surprise

After discussing with his father, Bo Yiliang and his father fell into silence.

Bo Yiliang played with a pen in his hand, gently spinning it between his fingertips.

He then asked in a nonchalant way, “Dad, how is Yibing’s health?”

“He? Just a few days after coming to the base, he was in a coma for several days. It really worried your mother and me. Since that incident, his health has improved a lot, and he even awakened an ability. It’s quite an unexpected surprise,” Bo Yu explained.

“It truly is an unexpected surprise.” Bo Yiliang was also a little surprised. After l, his brother’s health situation wasn’t initially good.

Bo Yibing, who was chatting with Cheng Yi, suddenly sneezed loudly.

He rubbed his nose and said, “Who the hell is thinking about me and making me sneeze so much.”

Like a curious baby, he asked Cheng Yi again, “Do you think my sister-in-law is also formidable?”

Thinking about Wen Xiaoxiao wielding a small hammer and smashing zombie heads, Cheng Yi shivered.

Swallowing saliva, he nodded and said, “She’s quite formidable. Wielding that small hammer, each of her strikes hit the zombies accurately.”

“Thinking about it, a big man like me is not as capable as her, a woman. I feel so embarrassed.” Cheng Yi thought involuntarily.

“Brother Chi, I’m so cold!” Bai Xiaolian held herself and looked pitifully at Bai Chi.

Bai Chi looked at her with a cold expression. “It’s none of my business.”

Bai Xiaolian was hurt by Bai Chi’s indifference, and she felt her heart tremble. Tears uncontrollably streamed down.

The older brother who always protected her, spoiled her, and comforted her, had changed.

Bai Xiaolian watched as Bai Chi draped his coat over another girl. Ever since this woman arrived, Bai Chi’s attitude toward her has worsened.

Thinking about it, she looked at that woman with jealousy and murderous intent in her eyes.

The woman looked triumphantly at Bai Xiaolian, having a proud expression on her face and looking at her with disdain.

Looking at Bai Xiaolian’s dirty clothes, she looked at her with contempt in her eyes.

After Bai Chi joined the Violent Team, he gained a place within it and started disliking Bai Xiaolian for various reasons.

Later, this new woman arrived along with a few others, adding more people to the Violent Team.

However, most of them were men, and there were very few women.

The newly arrived woman was even more beautiful than Bai Xiaolian, and she quickly earned the admiration of the Violent Team members.

As for Bai Xiaolian, everyone in the Violent Team knew she was a troublemaker. Now that she was thin and unattractive, she seemed inconspicuous.

Bai Xiaolian clenched her fists. Her entire face was contorted, but nobody paid her any attention or even remembered her.

People are like that—fickle. No matter how beautiful or intimate you were in the past, once there’s someone new, the old love is no longer valued.

Watching them walk further away, she silently followed, facing the bitterly cold wind and walking forward.

If she didn’t follow, she would be completely dead. She couldn’t handle so many zombies alone.

Wu Xiaoyi led a group of people to dig up the land and plant crops. It was a lively atmosphere that was in stark contrast with the harsh atmosphere in the outside world.

The weather outside was freezing, but inside the base, it was warm as spring, radiating a comfortable warmth.

Everyone in this place wore smiles of happiness on their faces every day. They were full of energy.

Wu Xiaoyi would go out every few days to search for other survivors and bring them back.

All in all, Wu Xiaoyi managed things orderly and efficiently without Wu Xiaoyi. Everyone was happy and harmonious.

  1. M&M's says:

After all that Bai Chi put her through, letting her become a plaything for various men, I’m surprised Bai Xiaolian has any hope in his previous feelings for her and instead doesn’t hate him from the core. I would have tried to kill him as revenge if given the chance. As much as I don’t like her, I was hoping she would have a stronger character to get back at those who hurt her. Especially considering how much she tried to ruin Wen Xiaoxiao for nothing else but her seeing her as a threat, I assumed she would have a more vindictive nature that doesn’t forgive any who might hurt her interests. I guess she’s just not as tough a character as I imagined her in the beginning, which is a shame.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
