Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Each Returns to Their Own Home, Each Finds Their Own Mother

Wen Xiaoxiao smiled and said, “I grew them myself. Regarding food, I can quickly ripen them with my abilities.”

Although these foods all grew in space, she had experimented with using her ability to expedite their growth. If a food item naturally developed quickly, it was easy for her to hasten its ripening.

Meanwhile, Qi Yan and his companions each returned to their respective homes.

Their homes were not too far apart.

When Qi Yan returned, he found his parents sitting on the sofa chatting.

“Jianwen! I don’t know when that brat Qi Yan will be back. What’s he up to?” Wu Xiuying complained.

He was her only son. What would she do if something bad happened to him?

Even though she believed that Yiliang’s child was powerful, she couldn’t help but worry. After going out a few times, she had overheard people talking about others who went out and never returned, falling into the hands of zombies.

Her heart trembled as she listened, fearing for her son’s safety. She was worried every day that something might happen to him.

Qi Jianwen, observing his anxious wife, put down the newspaper in his hand and reassured her, “Alright, don’t worry so much. A few days ago when he went out, I asked an amateur. He said he’d be back in a few days.”

Standing outside the door, Qi Yan clenched his fists and closed his eyes. He felt more and more guilty towards his parents.

He raised his hand and knocked on the door a few times.

“Bang, bang, bang.” The sounds reached the ears of the couple inside.

Wu Xiuying stopped talking and walked over to open the door.

When she saw her son, she froze, her voice trembling.

“So… son, son, you’re back.” Wu Xiuying quickly stepped forward and hugged him, her voice choked with sobs.

“Sorry, Mom. I made you worry.” Qi Yan also embraced his mother.

He shouldn’t have let his anger toward his parents drive him away without informing them.

“Alright, it’s good that you’re back. Come inside quickly! It’s very cold outside.” Wu Xiuying said, pulling her son into the house.

On the other side, Fu Jiangci after entering the house, received a beating.

(TL: Jiang Fuci will be now called Fu Jiangci)

“Dad, Dad, Dad, I was wrong. Please stop with the whip, it hurts.” Fu Jiangci looked at his father pleadingly. He covered his sore buttocks where his father had spanked him with both hands, feeling the waves of pain.

Fu Jiangci felt that his butt was spanked until it blossomed.

Fu Jiaojiao on the side enjoyed the show. She watched her father whip her elder brother with a smile playing on her lips.

Even Mother Fu didn’t intervene, letting her husband give their son a good thrashing. She showed no signs of pity.

Instead, she cracked open some melon seeds, enjoying the show.

“You stinky boy, if I don’t teach you a lesson, who will? How can I have such a useless son?” Father Fu scolded while whipping. “I heard that the eldest son of the Bo family returned with his wife and five children. Look at how he left and how he came back. Look at you, you didn’t even bring back a wife!”

If it weren’t for him going out and seeing that Bo Yu, who was always going against him, not only has a granddaughter-in-law but even grandchildren now, how could he not be mad?

Although the two had been at odds for so long, they were actually frenemies. They were always comparing everything.

Fu Jiangci felt a bit wronged. Where could he find a wife?

Originally, the gender ratio was already imbalanced, and with the apocalypse, women became even scarcer. In a group of ten people, there would be one woman at most. That was the situation.

“Yiliang has a wife, sons, and a daughter. He must have accumulated good karma from his past life to have such good luck,” Fu Jiangci thought in his heart.

Father Fu raised his arm and vigorously swung the leather in his hand. Regardless of whether his son was in pain or not, he lashed out. This boy had been accustomed to beatings since childhood. He had tough skin, so it wouldn’t hurt him much.

Beating him was not just because the Bo family had grandchildren.

The main thing was to give this stinky boy a good thrashing for making his wife cry after running away before the apocalypse.

  1. M&M's says:

I feel so sorry for Fu Jiangci! While Qi Yan gets a loving welcome from concerned parents, he gets a beating from his father while his mother and sister watch on in good moods. I know they show concern in their own way, but that’s a bit harsh. Hopefully Meng Qing will have better luck with his own family.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
