Surviving in Apocalypse with Children

Wen Xiaoxiao wrinkled her nose as she watched the zombie sitting on the ground and licking a plate. Disgust churned in her stomach.

 

The sticky liquid around its mouth had also smeared the plate. Wen Xiaoxiao lost her appetite instantly. Glancing at the zombie’s plate with disdain, she felt repulsed.

 

Whispering to Bo Yiliang, Wen Xiaoxiao suggested, “Let’s get rid of it! It’s so disgusting.”

 

Wen Xiaoxiao once again looked at the zombie and couldn’t shake off the feeling of repulsion.

 

Now she was regretting her decision. Why was she so stupid and opened the window while cooking?

 

Bo Yiliang shook his head and disagreed. “It’s different from other zombies. It not only has thoughts but can also talk. If I’m not mistaken, it might be the Zombie King. Keeping it could be beneficial for us. Its presence might keep lower-level zombies away, saving us a lot of time.”

 

Wen Xiaoxiao was convinced by Bo Yiliang’s explanation.

 

She nodded. “Alright! Let’s keep it. But how do we deal with it?”

 

Bo Yiliang smirked. “Didn’t you notice it loves eating the food you make? We can lure it with that.”

 

Wen Xiaoxiao felt that what he said made sense and agreed. The zombie had devoured the food eagerly after it appeared and licked the plates spotless.

 

Even without the sticky liquid, she wouldn’t use those plates again.

 

“Then I’ll go ask if it understands us. You stay by my side, ready to attack if it comes after us, just in case.”

 

“Sure.” Bo Yiliang had no objection and nodded.

 

Outside the kitchen, the three people heard the two inside whispering. They didn’t know what they were talking about, but none of the three went in. They just looked at the zombie in the kitchen while feeling afraid.

 

The children were confused and had no idea why their father was walking so fast.

 

However, after waiting for a long time, their father didn’t come back, so they planned to go to the kitchen to see what had happened.

 

The five children and Wen Runhan walked towards the kitchen. The five children had short legs and could not walk very fast, so they could only walk slowly.

 

As they approached the kitchen, Qi Yan and the other two noticed them. Despite trembling legs, they looked at them and questioned, “Why are you all coming over?”

 

“Where are Mom and Dad?” The children asked with wide eyes, blinking.

 

Jiang Fuci scratched his head and replied, “There’s a monster in the kitchen, and it ate all the food your mom made. You kids shouldn’t go in. It’s too dangerous. Come, let’s go back to the living room with your little uncle and wait.” After saying that, he tried to lead them away, not wanting them to witness the sight that might make them cry.

 

Thinking about what happened just now, he hesitated to go inside when the zombie appeared suddenly. He was so scared that his legs trembled.

 

He wouldn’t admit it, but he wanted to keep the children in the living room because because he was afraid.

 

Come to think of it, he didn’t feel scared when killing zombies outside. Only the zombie in the kitchen made him feel horrified from the bottom of his heart.

 

Little did he know that the fear stemmed from the fact that it was the Zombie King, and the aura it exuded was completely different from that of regular zombies.

 

In the kitchen, Wen Xiaoxiao stood near the Zombie King and asked, “Do you want to come with us? If you do, we’ll give you delicious food.”

 

The Zombie King understood her words, which meant that as long as it follow them, it could eat good food.

 

After pondering for a while, the zombie nodded. It wanted to eat delicious food!

 

Wen Xiaoxiao looked at the appearance of the zombie nodding. She felt a bit doubtful about whether it was really the zombie king. How come the Zombie King looks so stupid? Was it her imagination?

 

“Then you’re not allowed to eat us! If you’re hungry, just tell me. I’ll give you delicious food.”

 

“Delicious food.” The Zombie King quickly nodded after hearing this.

 

It was easy to satisfy, especially with good food.

 

Unlike other stinky zombies that might not have experienced such delights, the Zombie King was content.

 

Wen Xiaoxiao had no idea about the series of thoughts running through the Zombie King’s mind.

 

She smiled in satisfaction. Even looking at the Zombie King, she found it much more pleasing to the eye now.

 

As long as the Zombie King didn’t cause trouble, everything would be fine.
