Bo Yiliang opened the file containing the information in his hand without any expression.
What greeted his sight was a youthful face with a little baby fat, smiling brightly with her big, shiny eyes. The girl’s eyes were big, and when smiling, they curled like crescent moons, and there seemed to be a little starlight shining inside.
Wen Xiaoxiao: female, 23 years old, with a child. Her parents passed away in a car accident when she was 15. She lived alone after that.
With the money left by her parents, she attended a prestigious university. At the age of eighteen, she worked in a hotel and was slept with by an unknown person. She became pregnant because of this and was expelled from school by the teachers.
The more Bo Yiliang read, the angrier he became.
“Ring ring ring…”
A cell phone rang, breaking Bo Yiliang’s train of thought.
Bo Yiliang’s eyes turned cold as he looked at the phone on the table. He pressed the answer button and picked up the call.
“Yiliang, why did you break off the engagement with the Ai family? Do you know how sad Ai Chi is?” Bo Yiliang’s mother, Xue Yuna, fired questions at him.
Bo Yiliang sneered disdainfully, “Mom, do you know what Ai Chi did? You keep firing questions at me with such certainty.”
“You have no idea about it, so let me tell you. Ai Chi is shameless, morally loose, and has had sex with others since high school. She had ambiguous relationships with multiple men in college.”
“Five years ago, she drugged me in W City, Country Z, and tried to sleep with me. By some strange combination of events, I ended up sleeping with another girl. The girl’s future was ruined because of me, and I made a mistake by not finding her immediately as I had to leave for a mission.”
“She was expelled from school due to her pregnancy. You want me to marry such a shameless woman? I’d rather marry the innocent one.”
Mrs. BO was silent on the other end of the phone. Looking at Ai Chi, who was crying beside her, Mrs. Bo also had her own calculations in her heart.
His son had never spoken as much as this time in one go since he was a child. It could only mean that her son would rather marry the unknown woman than Chi.
Ai Chi had grown up under her eyes, and she was good friends with Ai Chi’s mother. Combined with the fact that she didn’t have a daughter, she naturally felt affectionate towards Ai Chi.
But…
She believed her son’s words.
Bo Yiliang waited for a moment and heard no response from his mother. He opened his mouth again. “I will have Qin Ye bring the information to you. Then you’ll understand why I broke off the engagement with her.”
He hung up the phone and called out in a cold voice, “Qin Ye.”
Qin Ye walked in from the outside and said, “Major General.”
“Deliver these two documents to the Imperial Villa.” Bo Yiliang ordered calmly.
Qin Ye took it and walked out.
In Bo Yiliang’s mind appeared Wen Xiaoxiao’s face. He thought to himself, “So well-behaved and cute, much more pleasing to the eye than Ai Chi.”
Five years ago, when he came to his younger brother’s door-opening ceremony in W City, he mistakenly entered the wrong room after having a drugged drink, and then a series of events happened.
Before he could investigate, his superiors sent him to Country M to investigate the missing treasures in the museum. Because the mission was quite tricky, it took him more than four years to find the missing treasures.
But he didn’t notice the enemy’s sneak attack, and he was shot squarely in the chest. It was just 0.001 millimeters short of hitting the heart. He was in a coma for over a year and only woke up now.
He didn’t die, which was already a miracle. His superiors told him to rest for a year before being on standby.
As for his engagement to Ai Chi, it was agreed upon by his mother while he was in a coma, but that didn’t mean that he agreed.
He felt guilty for the woman he had hurt. When he found her, he planned to make it up to her and the child he had never seen.
Half an hour later, Qin Ye arrived at the Imperial Villa and gave the two documents to Mother Bo, then drove away.
Ai Chi’s eyelids twitched as she looked at the documents in Mother Bo’s hand. She felt a strong sense of uneasiness in her heart.
The author has something to say:
I added one more chapter. Thank you for your support for Zicha. To be honest, Zicha is a little afraid of not writing well in the future and being criticized by you. Because the end of the world is not as easy to write as I imagined. Please bear with my shortcomings, Zicha loves you all!
I’m shocked Bo Yiliang didn’t blame Wen Xiaoxiao for sleeping with him and giving birth to his child in secret, but it’s a fresh development because MLs in other novels with similar setting tend to blame the woman as a schemer when it’s usually just an accident. I don’t understand how there’s no info that he has five children, though, and only the vague truth about her giving birth; I figured they’d do a thorough investigation when doing their work. It’s also refreshing that he plans to marry the woman who gave birth to his child rather than planning to only take the child with him and give compensation to the mother. I like an ML who’s reasonable and takes responsibility for his actions. I can’t wait to see how he’ll get along with Wen Xiaoxiao and the children.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
This is so sick. AiChi hurt two people when she ruffi*d him. 🙁
