Chapter 47

Raven stared intently at the student bulletin board.
⌎ Looks like he has a secret he doesn’t want to be found out.
It was an incredibly accurate guess. Raven did have a secret he didn’t want Melody to discover.
That’s why he didn’t want to get involved with the current Melody.
[Raven, now your sister can take care of you for a lifetime. You once said you wanted to study abroad in the Far East. Let’s leave together.]
Although he pretended not to have read the letter to Leonard, in fact, Raven had read the letter Melody wrote on her first day at this school.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t leave the school.
There was a problem that had to be resolved at the school.
He quietly rolled up his sleeve.
Two purple fever flowers were blooming under his sleeve. At first, it was just a small dot, but it was gradually growing larger.
The biggest problem was that this was contagious.
‘There’s also information to get from the Dean.’
Although he couldn’t approach his sister, perhaps it was a good thing that she came to attend the school like this.
His sister was a talented student, even smarter than him. With a good education, she might become a great person who could raise this country.
Moreover, everyone needs a wonderful school life mingling with peers during their growth period.
Look even now. Melody, who at first only followed Raven around, is gradually blending into school life and working hard at team sports like cricket.
Raven secretly hoped that such memories could now compensate for his sister’s teens, which she had dedicated to supporting him.
Then Raven recalled the nickname students had recently started calling Melody.
‘She’s not really sick, is she…?’
Melody had always been healthy. She wasn’t originally frail enough to get frequent nosebleeds.
Could she be overexerting herself?
Raven anxiously bit his nails and then sighed.
‘No. Don’t make too much of it. It’s natural to be tired when trying to adapt to things you’ve never done before. I was tired too.’
Right. It’s probably nothing.
He dismissed it as unimportant.

“Has EgliHas’s training started?”
“Looks like it’s happening now, we’ll be late. Let’s hurry.”
Dante woke up from sleeping on a tree. He heard students chattering noisily as they passed under the tree.
Normally he wouldn’t have cared, but the name ‘EgliHas’ caught his attention and made him open his eyes.
These days, students at school often abbreviated Eglinton and Hastings as the ‘EgliHas couple’.
‘What a sense for naming.’
Dante shrugged his shoulders, completely forgetting that he had come up with the combination ‘Melo-nosebleed’, and tried to go back to sleep.
“Could you teach me cricket? I don’t want to be a burden to my friends. Please, I’m begging you.”
But soon Melody’s voice echoed in his ears again, forcing him to open his eyes.
Unlike him, it seems the student council president didn’t refuse Melody’s request and was helping her.
Somehow, it made him feel uncomfortable.
‘But I can’t help in this state.’
He had been suffering from insomnia for the past few days. Not only could he not sleep deeply at night, but when he woke up in the morning, his energy was depleted.
He was always tired and on edge.
He wasn’t in a physical state to teach Melody cricket.
‘Still, should I go watch?’
So he climbed down from the tree and went to the school grounds where the two were said to be training, but Melody was already gone.
“Hey, but isn’t Hastings really working hard? It’s kind of amazing.”
“I can see why she got perfect scores on the transfer exam. She’s a bit intense too.”
“I saw her yesterday, looks like she comes to train alone until night, even without the student council president. Seeing her train all night while getting nosebleeds was pitiful.”
Dante overheard other students’ conversations.
Glancing over, he saw they were 2nd-year F-class students, the same class as Dante and Melody.
“Won’t she move to S-class next year? I don’t want to get attached.”
“It’s a bit unfair that F-class is misunderstood as bullying Hastings, shouldn’t we do something?”
Listening to the students’ conversation, Dante walked away. He felt relieved seeing that Melody was doing well even without him.
He should get rid of unnecessary guilt and just take care of himself.
Dante checked the time. It was already nearly 7 PM.
‘Let’s sleep a bit earlier today.’
Maybe if he increased his sleeping time, he’d be less fatigued.
And it was only that night that Dante would understand why he had always been tired and lacking in energy.
‘…Where am I?’
I definitely fell asleep in my dorm room bed, but when I woke up, I was standing in a dark place.
And I was soaking wet, standing in what looked like a fountain.
‘What on earth…’
And then I belatedly realized. I had been sleepwalking.
“Wellington? What are you doing here?”
Just then, someone spoke to me.
As I turned around, I saw a female student holding a lantern.
It was Melody Hastings.
🐈⬛
‘Wellington has been acting strange lately.’
I recalled last night when Dante was standing blankly in the fountain.
I had discovered Dante on my way back to the dorm after finishing night training with the student council president.
I wondered what on earth he was doing there, but Dante himself seemed unsure why he was there.
‘Could he have sleepwalking?’
Nah. No way.
If that were the case, wouldn’t rumors have spread? The school would probably have taken some action too.
‘Unless it’s something that started recently…’
I didn’t think much of it. I assumed that even if I didn’t worry about it, surely the people around Dante would take care of him.
Hiiing—
I checked the time as I saw ghosts roaming the school grounds making a fuss chasing after me.
10 PM.
I’ll have to be careful going in after curfew. Lately, ghosts have been bothering me more often than before, causing me to delay my return time.
However, I couldn’t ignore the ghosts’ signals either.
“Where is it?”
At my question, the ghosts fidgeted anxiously before starting to guide me somewhere.
Following the ghosts’ guidance, I arrived at a place where I could see the special building open.
The ghosts passed in front of it, giving signals. So I quietly closed the open door.
After closing the gym ghost story. The ghosts seemed to have realized what I was trying to do.
They started showing me passages that had connected to the ‘other world’ in this way.
Fortunately, these were doors that opened before the evil spirits from the ‘other world’ noticed, so just closing them solved the problem.
As I turned around after closing the door, the ghosts spun around me quickly as if excited.
They seemed scared of evil spirits coming from the ‘other world’ to this side too.
Even though they’re ghosts themselves.
“Anyway, good job.”
The ghosts seemed pleased with my praise and even danced. How cute, for ghosts.
Then, one of them plucked flowers from the school grounds with a cotton bat, quickly made a flower crown, and placed it on my head.
I ended up bursting into laughter.
As I turned around, humming a tune, I ended up making eye contact with Leonard.
Leonard had been standing behind me.
“W-what? What are you doing here at this hour?”
“I came out looking for my roommate who hadn’t returned, but what are you doing?”
Leonard, uncharacteristically flustered, pointed at the flower crown on my head.
“How did you just do that?”
“Oh, this is…”
“Are you perhaps a magician?”
As if I’m a magician.
