SPECIAL CHAPTER 22

SPECIAL CHAPTER 22

Part 144

Adrian looked at the clock while tilting the white, clear liquid in the glass back and forth. It’s almost midnight. He didn’t want to disturb her, but it was time for her to go to bed, so he was weighing whether or not he should go get Damien. Homet laughed as he looked at Adrian. He lifted the bottle and pointed to Adrian’s glass, which was exposing the bottom.

“Would you like another drink?”

After thinking for a moment, he pushed the glass and took another drink. He said, pretending not to notice Homet, who was laughing all over the room.

“It’s a good drink.”

“You don’t even know what it tastes like.” Homet laughed.

“I smell it.”

“It was really well made this year. Don’t you think it will suit Lady Damien, or rather the Duchess, well?”

It was a drink with a light, sweet scent of grain, so it seemed like Damien could drink it comfortably. The sight of Damian on that hot night when he was drunk was extremely tempting. When he returned, he would immediately try to find a direct liquor trade route with Viscounty Theodora, or even start producing real liquor. Of course, all plans came to naught because Damien got sick the next morning. Having seen him suffer so badly from a hangover, he plans to abstain from drinking any alcohol from the Duke of Bigor’s family from now on. Damien’s injections, which were dizzyingly cute and breathtakingly provocative, would occasionally come to mind, but they were not more important to her than her health. Damian was weak. She was small and fragile. If he had known she would vomit after four glasses of cider, he wouldn’t have let her drink that much. As for Damian, her bones were thin, she ate only a little, her hands were small, and even her hair was thin. The feel of her hair in his hand was mesmerizing, unlike his own hair, which was stiff and thick, but he could understand how Jenny felt as she carried her hair’s pack around. The way she walked around on her little feet without falling over made her look dangerous.

Adrian had long bones, ate whatever was given to him, and his feet were as big as his hands. He was surrounded by men as big as himself. With a complex look on his face, Adrian shook his head, thinking that Damien, who he believed was only slightly shorter than average, would have been furious if she had known. While Adrian was thinking about this, Damien was engrossed in chatting with Irina and the princess, and Adrian had no intention of saying his thoughts out loud, so there would be no way for the two of them to resolve this misunderstanding in the future…

Homet, who had no way of knowing that Adrian was seriously thinking about the size of Damian’s feet, looked puzzled for a moment, but then moved on to another story.

“I hear there will be a national wedding in Cocone Kingdom.”

“Is this a marriage with Princess Donovan?”

“Yes, all of Laurentine’s nobles will attend. An invitation to the duke’s residence must have been sent by now. Would you like to go too?”

“I guess so. Even though I’m stuck here, my information power is still the same.”

“I’m about to return, but it would be difficult to lose my senses.”

Adrian chuckled at Homer’s answer. If the King of Cocone in the east and the Duchy of Nodovan were formed, and the princess of the Kingdom of Cologne in the west married Homer, Count of Beelzebub, the border lines on both the east and west sides would be intact for the time being. This means that unless there is a major incident, Adrian will not have to go into battle for a while. Adrian vowed that when he returned to the military after his vacation, he would persuade Remina to accept his resignation. The commander-in-chief, who oversees the entire military, has too much power. Just as the last rebellion by the National Guard was successfully prevented, it was right for the military to move to a dual system where they could keep each other in check.

Remina also agreed with Adrian that there was no check if the commander-in-chief harbors a traitor, but a large part of Adrian’s intention to refuse reinstatement to the position of commander of the capital military and to give up all power was due to Damian’s late return from work. She also understood that it was due to complaints about not being able to pick him up. In the long tug-of-war between King Laurentyne and the Commander-in-Chief, this optimistic international situation would give strength to Adrian’s opinion. Adrian, who emptied his glass and pondered once again about the importance of peace, stood up. Damian has heard news that will make him happy, so he delivers it and his face is happy. She had to go see.

Damien, who had been immersed in a happy chat, returned to the bedroom, obediently hugged by Adrian. Princess Irina envied Adrian’s consistent kindness, not knowing that the reason he carried Damian so hard was because walking on his small two feet seemed precarious. While Homet, who was more polite than friendly, was embarrassed by Princess Irina’s glance, Damien was jumping around on the bed and jumping around in joy at the news that Adrian had delivered. After spending an exciting night with Damian, who was excited about the good news from his friend, the next day, a messenger from Duke Bigor’s residence arrived.

In the afternoon, a knight from the Bigor Knights arrived on a special order from Ethan and delivered a wedding invitation and a letter from Ailene. In the process of selecting a messenger, she even had a horseback riding match with the head maid, and then barely won, so she relayed Jenny’s news. Hearing that there were only a few knights left within the knights who could keep up with Jenny’s speed made her think about Jenny’s future. She opened Ailene’s letter, vowing to raise Jenny’s salary as she was becoming more of a munchkin. Because she didn’t want to be swayed by the fate of becoming queen, asking her lover to lay down the crown feels like being swayed by fate even more, so she made a strong decision to fight back, and the past with Dozern that she wanted to wash away would become who King Cocone was. It was written with the sad concern that it might not be true. Although she was half-hearted, she got married, and when she received a letter from her friend who was anxious about what she would think of her in Cocone Kingdom, she just couldn’t stay. There was a lot of time left until her wedding ceremony, the 90th day of summer, but wouldn’t Ailene feel better if she went a little early and helped with the preparations?

“Ad, how about traveling abroad for the rest of our vacation?”

“How about Cocone Kingdom, which is small but has a lot to see?

Adrian, who read her mind, pretended not to know and made a suggestion that appealed to her.

“I think it would be perfect.”

“I’ve already instructed you to pack your bags.”

She took it upon herself to kiss her handsome man on the cheek and told Irina and the princess the sad news that she had to leave. Homet and the princess also said that Duke Donovan would attend the wedding of her eldest daughter, so they promised to meet again in the Kingdom of Cocone and departed immediately in the evening.

On her way to show her friend what a cool and amazing person he was, she couldn’t ride in their holiday carriage, which resembled a wagon, so she returned to Midoc. After packing plenty of wedding gifts, they boarded a large ducal carriage and went to the Cocone Kingdom, this time accompanied by Jenny and Franz. Arriving at Cocone Kingdom from Beelzeb territory via Midok, it was a week before the wedding.

When she unpacked her bags at a large inn near the palace, she found that all the Donovan family members had already arrived downstairs. She found out that all the noble Laurentian nobles decided to attend, and Mr. Van Hestein also decided to come on behalf of the royal family. Of course, was this marriage just a white-marriage? It was an important national marriage that led to the marriage alliance between the Cocone Kingdom and Laurentyne on the eastern border where small kingdoms were scattered, and it is the wedding of the duke’s daughter of the Duke of Donovan, a great noble family of Lorentine.

She visited the royal palace as soon as she unpacked to tell him that she would never be discouraged. After receiving polite guidance from the attendants, they arrived at the palace where Ailene was staying, and after a month, Ailene came down to the drawing room.

“Damian!”

“Ailene, how are you?”

“How did you arrive already? I heard you went on vacation down south.”

“I came to Cocone Kingdom on vacation.”

When she sneered, Ailene smiled and hugged her tightly and said thank you.

“Do you need anything? It’s not normal to prepare for a wedding.”

“My mother and Lillian are here to help, so it’s okay.”

“Anything is okay, just tell me, I’ll get everything you need.”

“Just hearing what you say is reassuring. I’m really okay, I’m so grateful that you came all the way to attend the wedding.”

“Of course I should come! It’s your wedding.”

Ailene, who was tapping the back of her hand and smiling at her words, held her hand and said, fearing that she might be suffering from anxiety hidden behind Caesar smile.

“I will always have your back, so don’t keep anything to yourself, okay? If there is someone who is mean to you, just tell them not to tolerate it and to be thankful that you have such a pretty and smart queen.”

“I will. But everyone is very friendly. I guess I was worried for nothing.”

“Of course I should. That’s good.”

“There are a lot of places worth visiting near the royal capital. There’s still some time left until the wedding, so take your time and look around. I’m preparing well, so don’t worry.”

Ailene came early and was worried about me, saying she would be bored. It’s okay to take your time to see the sights. She came with the intention of waiting by her side, but as if the King of Cocone was paying attention, a huge number of court ladies were surrounding Ailene, and the Duchess of Nodovan and Lady Lillian were also there, so it was bigger than she expected. There was nothing to do. She had seen her get along well with Lady Lillian before, and her relationship with the Duchess seemed very affectionate, which made me feel at ease in many ways. After talking for a while, she came out to go back, and Adrian and King Cocone were standing together in front of Ailene’s palace. She told him to stay at the inn, but he followed her and said he would not disturb their conversation. Adrian, who had posed as a guard knight in front of the palace, stood right next to her. King Kokone apologized for his bad behavior the other day.

It wasn’t good. She was impressed by the spirit of his willingness to throw down his crown for Ailene. She personally saw them off at the palace gate and talked about various things with the King, who was trying to be kind to her, Ailene’s friend, and before parting ways at the gate, she spoke earnestly as a request.

“I believe you will make me happy, my friend. He is a child who needs to be very happy.”

“If she’s happy, I’ll be happy too. Don’t worry.”

The King also gave her a serious answer, so she was able to leave the palace with a light heart.

* * *

She really came early to run some errands, but there wasn’t as much to do as she thought. She, the Duchess of Donovan, was preparing for marriage for the purpose of marriage, and the Duke of Donovan has been going around meeting nobles of the Kingdom of Cocone, appealing to them that the Duchess of Donovan was behind Ailene. The second time she went to visit her, she saw that Ailene was worried about her vacation, so she thought it would be a home for her, so she had a great time touring Cocone Kingdom until the day of her wedding. The week went by quickly because it was a cute kingdom with a lot to see.

The day before the wedding, after enjoying a double date with Homer and Princess Irina who had arrived from the County of Beelzeb, when she returned to the inn, a completely unexpected guest came to her.

A handsome silver-haired boy who was now fifteen years old stood up from the sofa he was sitting on and greeted her with a somewhat nervous expression.

“Duchess Bigor, nice to meet you. This is Pedric Huger.”

“Young Duke of Rapture, nice to meet you.”

She also greeted him as politely as possible and with a bright smile. There was no one from western Lorraine who did not feel indebted to the Duke of Rapture. The Young Duke slightly blushed but responded with a smile.
