SPECIAL CHAPTER 20

Part 142

When she woke up, she was in a warm room with lots of sunlight.

“Are you awake?”

When she opened her eyes and looked at Adrian’s voice, she saw him wiping her face with a wet towel, with dark spots under his eyes.

“Ad? Where am I?”

“This is the castle of Lord Theodora.”

“Yes?”

Why were they suddenly in Theodora’s Castle? She asked back in surprise, but Adrian didn’t answer. Instead, he slowly put down the wet towel in his hand and extended his hand towards me. He carefully wrapped his arms around her neck and back and hugged her so tightly that she felt like she was going to be crushed.

A wet voice sounded softly in he ear.

“I thought I was going crazy because I was scared.”

“Ad?”

He hugged her for a while and then let go with a long sigh. The fingertips that continued to touch her face and the lips that touched her forehead were trembling, and now she was starting to worry.

“Adrian? What’s going on? What’s wrong?”

“The fever rose so badly that I almost got into big trouble. Are you in any pain?”

“I feel a little weak, but I’m not sick. I think I’m hungry.”

Adrian smiled slightly and stood up, looking much more relaxed.

“I will tell you to prepare a meal.”

As soon as Adrian left the room, his maids came in, greeted him politely, and began to clean up the mountain of water bags and towels. And soon a middle-aged woman in a white dress came in and greeted her.

“This is Melda, Viscountess Theodora’s personal doctor. Duchess, I’m afraid you’re hungry.”

“Okay, I guess I’m hungry. Melda? What happened?”

“The quack who used the medicine for your wife mixed two cold medicines together. They are medicines that reduce fever when taken separately, but when used together, they are herbs that have the side effect of causing high fever. He didn’t seem to know.”

It felt uncomfortable for some reason. She was so excited that she had caught a tiger that she used medicine at random, but she guessed they brought her here while her fever was rising.

“How much did I know?”

“He came yesterday morning and was sick all day.”

“Are you okay now?”

“It looks like you still have a mild fever, so I’ll give you some proper cold medicine. If you eat and take the medicine, you’ll get better soon.”

“Yes, I am indebted to you. thanks.”

“I didn’t do anything. Duke Bigor put in a lot of effort.”

Melda sat by her side all day, changing her ice pack, wiping away her sweat, and telling me how hard Adrian had been. She even blushed as she explained that her fever went down quickly thanks to her utmost sincerity, and she felt even more sorry for Adrian, who must have suffered more mentally than physically. After the maids and Melda left, Adrian returned carrying the tray himself. It was a simple meal consisting of only soft soup and fruit jelly, but perhaps because she was hungry, she ate the bowl deliciously. It was hard to coax Adrian into spoon-feeding her food, but he watched me swallow it down with deep emotion. When he finished eating, he held out a bowl of medicine. After swallowing the bitter medicine he had once taken, Adrian’s face brightened a little as he pushed the candy into his mouth.

“I’m causing trouble by not even being able to say hello to the Viscount.”

“You can meet him after you get better.

“We came by unexpectedly, took up his room, and even called the family doctor, so I have to say thank you properly.”

“I’ve said hello enough.”

If Adrian, Sir George, and the Shadow Knights had stormed into this castle, taking her unconscious from fever, it certainly wouldn’t have been a proper visit, but they would have grabbed the Viscount by the collar and called the doctor. It would be nice if they didn’t yell at her to hand it over.

“You didn’t grab me by the collar or anything, right?”

“I didn’t grab you by the collar.”

What about the collar? She was curious, but she didn’t want to know.

“Where is that quack? I need to see his face to see what’s going on.”

“You’d better not look.”

“…”

It seemed like her face was gone. Well, there’s no way Adrian would just leave it like that. What kind of doctor was someone who can’t even make cold medicine properly? What kind of doctor is this, causing concern and trouble here and there? Even in this town, doctors need to take an exam, get a license, and practice. She sat on the bed all day, resting like a baby bird, eating the delicious things Adrian put in my mouth. By evening, my condition had fully recovered, so I had tea with Viscount Theodora and his wife and said thank you. The Viscount, who seemed a bit nervous, actually apologized and said he was sorry that something like this had happened on his territory. He also promised to strictly investigate the qualifications of lawmakers acting as lawmakers in the future. After sleeping all day, she couldn’t sleep, and Adrian, who had black eyes under his eyes, didn’t want to sleep either, so she laid down in bed. She turned off all the lights and was looking at Adrian’s chin and neck in the dark, and he seemed to have fallen asleep as well. He chuckled.

“Can’t you sleep?”

“I’m not sleepy, but my Ad needs to sleep.”

She said, turning around to face him.

“I don’t think I can sleep right now.”

“Why?”

“It looks like we have a guest.”

“A guest?”

Adrian, who smiled and kissed her forehead, stood up, brightened the room, and brought her a robe. As she was putting on her gown, she heard a very faint knocking sound. And a voice that seemed to whisper mournfully continued outside the door.

“My lady, are you sleeping?”

That voice sounds very familiar? Adrian, who had been watching her get out of bed, sat her down on the sofa and opened the door.

“Huh? Even Jenny?”

“Lady!”

“Miss!!”

“How did you get here?”

“Miss, are you okay? Can I stay up like this?”

“Huh? Oh, it’s okay. The fever has gone down now.”

“Ma’am, are you really okay? I can’t tell you how surprised I was to hear the news from Madam’s pigeon.”

What? Pigeon?

“The quack doctor said he gave you the wrong medicine? Where is that (bleep—)? I’m going to (bleep—) him so bad.”

‘No, Jenny, you can’t (bleep—) at people. Oh, you’re out of your mind.’

“Jenny.”

In the midst of the chaos, Ethan called Jenny very solemnly. Was he trying to scold Jenny for swearing? Jenny was now the head maid of the Bigor duchy, so she had to refrain from using such words, but she still didn’t like getting scolded.

“How many times do I say ‘Madam’ and ‘Miss’?”

‘Are you sure that’s the point that needs to be scolded?’

“Yes, butler, I will be careful. Anyway, madam, I also brought the duchy’s doctor. Do you mind getting a check-up?”

Now that she thought about it, behind Ethan and Jenny, she saw their family doctor with a patient’s face outside in the hallway, and Franz supporting him. When their eyes met, Franz lowered his head sternly and the doctor desperately lowered his head. They said they brought him here, but he doesn’t have the appearance of a person who was brought here?

“I’ll do it tomorrow, check it out, I think the doctor needs to rest for now. It’s okay now, calm down, Jenny, and Ethan, me and Ad are here, so what if the butler who is supposed to protect the mansion is away?”

“I don’t care about a mansion without my wife.”

“Enough, we’ll do the rest tomorrow. You should rest now.”

Adrian summed up the situation. Ethan and Jenny repeatedly bowed their heads in apology and left the room, and she just smiled and waved. It feels like a storm has swept over her. She felt completely lost because unexpected people suddenly appeared. So, was the distance from Midoc to here enough to make her cry? Assuming that Adrian and the Bigor Knights use teleportation techniques, what exactly was Jenny? As the Laurentian administrator, she was seriously contemplating whether it would be a national loss to keep Jenny confined to only being the chief maid, but at some point, she found herself in Evil. She blinked and Adrian smiled brightly. Hehe, she smiled and rubbed her cheek against his chest, hugged him meticulously, and kissed him on the top of his head.

“I’m sorry for making you worry.”

“I’m sorry for hurting you.”

“Why Ad? That quack is bad.”

“This time I realized how careless it was that I didn’t even know what medicine Damian was taking.”

“Just in case, don’t even think about studying medicine. Jenny said she’s been researching how herbs are used as medicine these days. Don’t be like that, too.”

“Jenny is a great maid with a lot to learn from.”

After failing to convince her that she was an invincible commander-in-chief, saying that she didn’t have to do her hair or study herbs, but just do whatever she wanted, she fell asleep.

The next morning, Bigor, who was barely human, was thoroughly examined again by the doctor, and he was diagnosed as being fine. When she told him that it was okay to go back now and that he had had a hard time coming all the way, the doctor trembled and screamed that he would not go with that person. His finger pointed at Jenny.

“Jenny is already here, so let’s stay a little while. The lake was very nice.”

“May I?”

After answering, she looked back at Adrian, but Adrian was just staring at Jenny’s hand touching my head. He told the doctor to stay longer if he wanted, but he said he would go back immediately and left. Jenny brushed her hair until she was satisfied, then opened her trunk and sighed as she inspected the clothes she had bought during the trip.

“This green dress and yellow hat look good on a lady, or even a madam. Our Madam looks pretty no matter what in the world she wears.”

After putting the dress and hat on her body, she nodded her head in joy. Aside from the fact that her senses were crazy, the bean pod that caught her maid’s eye was also a big problem. It’s been a while since she wore the dress Jenny picked for her and had her hair done by Jenny. Even though she wore the same clothes and the same accessories, she seemed prettier in some way. It’s a big deal because my maid is so talented. Even if she is called by her country, she must catch it. The Bigors who were occupying the castle of the lord of Viscounty Theodora turned their backs on the castle and headed back to the shores of Lake Upor. She asked Ethan to properly thank the Viscount, and thanked him again. The Viscount seemed happy to see them leave, though.

Adrian and Jenny were in control of her condition. Only after checking thoroughly did he gave permission to go out to the lakeside. We spent a few days enjoying a full-fledged summer vacation, with Ethan spraying water on Sir George and Jenny jumping into the water with Franz. She thought about this as she watched Jenny jump into the water with a headlock around Franz’s neck. They would be getting married sometime in the fall. She couldn’t live like that, so she should stop marrying her off.

After an exciting lakeside vacation and leaving Viscounty Theodora to move to another city, Jenny, Franz, and Ethan returned to Midoc. We were finally able to leave after Franz coaxed us into stuffing ourselves into the luggage compartment of our carriage. It was a mid-summer day in the middle of the heat when our carriage arrived at the County of Beelzeb after passing through the Romantic Barony of Poris, where music rang out wherever we went, and Engar, the largest military center in the south.
