SPECIAL CHAPTER 10
Part 132
While the gallant Knights of Bigor were cheering with one voice, Adrian came up behind them and closed the window. And then he started to cling to her in earnest, but she pushed Adrian’s face away and asked.
“Ah, who will win in a fight between our knights and the soldiers of Viscount Blancha’s castle?”
Adrian tilted his head and looked puzzled, and Franz, who must have heard my voice through the still open space, answered vigorously.
“Of course our knights win!”
“Really? Even though there are probably a lot more of them?”
When she asked again, Franz answered bravely, “Of course! Our lord has come, so even if we face the entire East, we will win!”
Adrian went and closed the door. He wrapped his arms around my waist again and asked sweetly.
“Damian can cut off Emperor Vito’s head if he wants. What’s going on?”
Why was the scale getting bigger? All she had to do was capture Viscount Blancha, not Emperor Vito. Anyway, that’s what she meant. She kissed her pretty husband, who appeared at the most exciting moment, on the cheek. She grabbed Adrian’s hand, which automatically relaxed.
“Go quickly.”
“Damian?”
The back boat would also feel more secure. She would shake it off with excitement.
“First, grab the Galleon Aachen, turn from the top of the Vitrain, and then go catch Viscount Blancha.”
She held Adrian’s hand and tried to leave the room, but he didn’t move. When she turned around, he was looking at her with a face that looked like he was going to build a mountain of worry. When she tilted her head, he let out a long sigh and hugged me like he was vomiting blood.
“You decided not to do anything dangerous…”
“It’s not dangerous!”
“Why isn’t it dangerous to go and capture the lord in the middle of the Viscounty?”
This person, who rarely had a stern face and says you should not do anything dangerous, is the commander-in-chief of our country’s entire military. Last year, he wiped out a country in the middle of enemy territory and even classified allies as high-risk.
She couldn’t move because she was afraid she would end up like this. He would have cried a lot if he had gone to catch him by himself. She stroked Adrian’s frozen face.
“So I was waiting patiently. I’m moving because Adrian came.”
“Don’t get involved in anything that might be dangerous.”
“All right.”
“Did you promise?”
After receiving confirmation twice, Adrian hugged her tightly as if he was going to crush her in his arms. Adrian’s voice came from the back of his throat.
“I missed you.”
It was only a week, but she missed him too. She patted his back and told him she missed him too, but his voice was muffled because his face was buried in his chest. Adrian chuckled, and she laughed along with him as she felt his chest rise. As he was about to comfort Adrian and leave the inn, George appeared, wondering how he had found out.
“After listening to what the kids said, I didn’t know what to expect, but you crawled down?”
George asked, but Adrian didn’t respond and just nodded his head. George shook his head and reported to me.
“Ma’am, here’s what you asked me to know about the top of Bettrain and Galleon Aachen.”
She went out late last night and even brought some documents with her.
“Excellent, Sir George!”
When she grabbed George’s hand and shook it, he smiled sheepishly while scratching the back of his head with his other hand. She turned around to leave and sat down on the sofa again, holding George’s report. George visited the stores of Viscounty Blancha overnight and collected all the details of transactions with the Bittrain merchants. Should she suggest Sir George take the civil service examination? Couldn’t something like special hiring be done under the authority of the inspector general? Oh, Ethan was raising it.
“Thank you for your hard work, please call Sir George, Franz, Nellia and Bourbon.”
He called his subordinates because he needed to share information before going to capture Aachen. George bowed his head and went out, and soon Nelia and Bourbon came knocking. While waiting for them, Adrian held George’s hand, carefully stroked her shaking hand, and blew out the wind. Then, as if it was natural, he sat down next to her.
When Nelia and Bourbon entered the room, they saw the highest-ranking person in their country’s military and came to stand in front of her. When she motioned for them to sit down, the two people who had carefully lowered themselves with a very gloomy attitude got up as soon as Adrian got up. And she watched with her mouth wide open as Adrian got into the car with his own hands. She managed to comfort the subordinates who were chasing her and made them sit down, but when Adrian put down the teacups in front of them as well, his face was a sight to behold. After causing a lot of mental damage to two of the most promising and highly qualified people in our inspection department, Adrian sat down next to her again, his eyes fixed on her face. She picked up the teacup and took a sip of the tea. Hmm, the scent was excellent.
‘It wasn’t like this when I made it, but Adrian, your driving skills are getting better as time goes by.’
“Come on, drink. I thought this person wasn’t there, so I called to see this before I go to catch Aachen at the top of the beat train.”
As she said, the two of them could hardly return to their original state. Well, he was a person with a lot of presence to make you think he was not there.
“Shall we calculate all the transaction amounts on the slip attached here?”
“Oh, no.”
“No, Manager!”
“Okay, since I’m busy, let’s leave the amount alone and just figure out the approximate size for now. It doesn’t look like it’s a ghost platform that was hastily built to sell iron.”
The two people looked at the documents with serious faces at her words, but in the end, they couldn’t even touch the teacup. It would have taken quite a lot of money to mine, hire workers, and open a smelter. She thought he might have been persecuting other merchants under the viscount’s back, so she looked through his transaction records, but surprisingly, he was operating normally. The main trading items at the top of the Bittrain, which was created last year, were fabrics and silk. Perhaps because of the positive response to selling popular fabrics from the capital, they have recently been selling accessories as well. There were no particular signs of profiteering, and seeing as the transactions continued, it appears that the company’s credibility with its clients was quite solid. Did you invest the money you earned from selling cloth into a mine? Does that mean the transactions have been kept clean until recently? If you had seen this document without knowing that you were trading iron illegally, you would have praised the top stocks at the top of Bittrain, saying that you have a good eye for reading the market. She looked through it, but the circumstances I was looking for did not appear, so she had no choice but to check the ledger. She covered the review and called George again.
“Lord George, have you even found out where Aachen is?”
George responded by pounding his chest with an expression of obviousness.
“He was living quietly in a large mansion not far from the lord’s castle. He seemed to think he could live quietly until his wife passed away.”
She smiled at George’s words.
“Get him right away. Bring the ledger with you. I’ll be at the lord’s castle.”
George nodded and disappeared with a few knights, and Adrian was ready to escort her in an instant. As they left the inn, there was a magnificent carriage escorted on both sides by about 150 knights. Where did the carriage she originally rode in go?
Adrian, who opened the carriage box and escorted her, kissed the back of her hand and said,
“I will escort you.”
Adrian, smiling brightly, got out of the carriage and slept, and Nelia got into the carriage with a still gloomy face, and Bourbon seemed to be sitting in her coachman’s seat. The Bigor Knights departed, waving the black wolf flag. Adrian stood majestically at the front of the procession, riding on a green horse. Under the escort of the Commander-in-Chief, she went to overthrow the castle of the lord Viscount Blancha.
* * *
180 knights, three magistrates, and a commander-in-chief stood in front of the castle of the lord of Viscounty Blanca. Viscount Blancha, who had not responded even after I moved from the lord’s castle to the inn, rushed out to the front of the castle in socks. He opened the carriage window and watched what was going on, but Adrian, who was on the front porch, ignored the viscount’s town-like hospitality and entered the castle. Following him, the Bigor Knights entered the castle as if it were a given. The carriage I was riding in was also surrounded by them and entered together. We were led to the Viscount’s drawing room while the Viscount’s knights were looking at the Viscount and the Viscount was looking at Adrian. Seeing the Viscount and Viscountess fidgeting in their seats, she spoke solemnly.
“You lied to me, Viscount.”
“Yes?”
“From what I checked, I heard that Viscount Blancha had a good harvest last year. Where was the 500,000 gold embezzled used?”
“Yes?”
“That guy? Stop talking and answer. I’m asking what happened to the 500,000 gold you embezzled from agricultural income and the 4 million gold you sold to the Kingdom of Sorrento.”
“4 million gold?”
If that really surprised face was an act, the Viscount would have been wasting his talents, but if he really didn’t know that millions of gold were being sold in his territory, that would be great. As she continued to shoot, the Viscount lazily made an excuse.
“I don’t know anything about iron ore. I just gave permission to develop and sell the mine, but I wasn’t involved after that.”
“It’s not another mineral, it’s iron. The lord didn’t know. Does that make sense? This too will be punished for negligent management. Stop talking nonsense and get the ledger. If you bring a false ledger this time, I won’t sit still.”
She glanced at Adrian and threatened him, and he glared at the Viscount with a cold look. Several knights standing behind Adrian raised their sword scabbards and frowned. As the shrunken Viscount Blanca was unable to do either this or that, the Viscountess let out a long sigh and opened her mouth.
“I know where the ledger is. I think I know where it was written.”
“Boo, ma’am?”
“He was busy entertaining guests, so it looks like the money was embezzled.”
Viscountess Blancha glared at the sweaty Viscount, shook off his hand holding the hem of his skirt, and stood up. And soon he brought two thick ledgers. It was a real ledger that meticulously recorded the income and expenses of the territory for last year and this year. This secured evidence of tax embezzlement. The Viscountess was sitting there, ignoring the Viscount, and as she looked through the ledger while turning the rabbit pen around, the Viscountess said desperately, as if she had already thought she was wrong.
“I really don’t know about iron ore mining. I didn’t do it!”
“Are you going to admit to embezzling 500,000 gold?”
“Well, that money wasn’t spent by me either, it was lent to cover mine development costs. I haven’t even gotten it back yet, but it’s 4 million gold. I feel unfair.”
Viscount Blancha was almost in tears now. Although no one in the lord’s castle drawing room sympathized.
“Is it Aachen on top of Bittrain that borrowed the money?”
“Yes! He borrowed the investment money last year, saying it would make a lot of money if he developed the mine, but he refused to repay the money, saying the amount mined was less than expected.”
“Are you saying that you made up for the light that wasn’t recovered for a year through embezzlement?”
She asked out of frustration, but the Viscount could not answer and lowered his head. It was outrageous that a person who was the head of a family and lord made irresponsible investments without asking questions, but covered the loss through theft?
“You didn’t even think to find out that Aachen, who borrowed the money, was making huge profits!”
She shouted in astonishment, and Viscount Blanca mumbled something nonsensical.
‘Well, he’s my guest’s father, and there’s no way a man who used to be a duke would lie, and he’s such a piece of shit.’
