CHAPTER 5: HERE, NOW, AND YOU (XVI)

Part 112

After seeing off Damien, Adrian headed straight to the palace. His steps naturally quickened at the thought of quickly organizing everything and returning to the Duke’s residence, where Damien was waiting for him. Adrian arrived at the main palace and went to the throne room. Remina was sitting on the throne, and most of the nobles were keeping their seats. Duke Donovan, with a more relaxed look on his face, entered the room and pretended to know Adrian.

Adrian walked straight in front of Remina, got down on one knee and bowed her head. Remina smiled as she saw Adrian looking up at her with his serene eyes. As Adrian showed courtesy to the king, even the nobles who had not yet fully understood what was going on recognized the situation. The rumors going around were true. After getting rid of the corrupt things that threatened the duke, the owner of the crown has found his place. Lorentine will meet the queen.

“We decided to hold the banquet on Friday as planned. We need to announce the enthronement and prepare for the coronation ceremony. There is still a lot of work to do in the future, Duke.”

Remina spoke with a soft smile, and Adrian responded with a firm voice.

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Remina laughed at the early nickname. The other nobles hurried after Adrian and bowed to her knees and bowed to her dog, but Remina could only guess how terrible he must have found this position and she could not help but laugh. After Adrian, with a relieved face, went out to deal with the escaped criminals, other nobles also left the audience room. Remina accosted Homer, who was about to leave her post.

“The members were saying strange things.”

Remina also heard the story about Homer, who dismantled the ‘King’s Eye’ and disappeared from Midoc. Homer, who had changed his mind about leaving and returned to the palace, responded with an embarrassed smile.

“Because I asked, I was planning to run away before I was punished.”

“But why did you change your mind?”

“Someone told me I’m not a dog.”

Remina also laughed at Homer’s answer.

“You speak of course. Moreover, the leader, ‘The King’s Eye’ is an organization directly under the royal family. It cannot be disbanded by the leader’s ex officio. We will continue to work faithfully until further notice is given.”

After greeting her soft-spoken Lemina and leaving her audience room, Homer burst into laughter at her. He thought everything was over and he had lost his place, but he was only mistaken. There were piles of things that needed to be done. Homer hurried his steps.

When Adrian arrived at the entrance to Mt. Saso, Franz, who was sitting on the rock with an ecstatic expression on his face, bowed his head.

“Hennessy?”

“I got it. It will come down soon.”

“Hegel?”

“He died.”

Franz bowed his head more deeply. Behind Franz, he saw Hegel’s body covered in cloth. Adrian’s eyes wavered for a moment, but then he hardened. Everyone had to take responsibility in their own way. Hegel chose death. And Adrian decided to know the feelings of both subordinates. Adrian tapped Franz on the shoulder.

“Good work.”

Adrian walked away, leaving Franz unable to answer, and Franz buried his face in his sleeve to hide his pouring tears. Knights holding torches were lighting the way, and Thierry came down, dragging Hennessy, who was tied to a rope. Hennessy, who had his arms tied behind his back and tied across his chest, and whose legs were wrapped so badly that he could not walk on his own, was being pulled by Thierry, who was dragging his legs on the floor, screaming repeatedly as if they were broken here and there. . Adrian opened his mouth as he looked down at Hennessy, who was padded at his feet.

“Hennessy Thanon.”

Looking up at Adrian, Hennessy scolded.

“Do you think the hostage won’t die after doing this to me?”

“She is now at the Duke’s residence.”

“Well, she ate poison. I have the antidote!”

“Your son said he didn’t give her poison.”

“That stupid!!”

He looked down with red eyes at Hennessy, unable to overcome his anger, rolling on the floor and spitting out curses, and called out again.

“Hennessy Thanon.”

Hennessy screamed while trembling in fear as Adrian’s murderous force pressed down on his entire body.

“I am Hennessy Bigor!”

Adrian, looking down at his distorted face, smiled very coldly.

“My father was not one to give names to his dogs.”

“Bullship! I’m not a dog!”

“You are a dog because you do not know what your place is. You will die and have your head cut off.”

After ordering him to be put in the same prison as Doyev, Adrian turned around. Hennessy was dragged around swearing and screaming before being hit hard by Thierry and falling limp. s Adrian mounted his horse, he took a look at the dark mountainside. He also looked around at the royal palace visible in the distance. Hegel was dead, and Hennessy and Doyeff must stand trial. Duke Galleon was locked in the mansion and reports that Kayle has finished deploying the capital security force and the outer castle defense force. Thanks to the active cooperation of the residents, all the fleeing militia were captured, and the royal palace welcomed its owner.

So, now Adrian’s black horse ran towards the Duke’s residence.

* * *

She was sleeping happily, but she turned over and her forehead hit something hard. She was surprised to see a rock on her wide, wide bed. When she opened her eyes, she saw Adrian looking down at her. Beautiful eyes sparkled in the darkness.

“Huh? When did you come?”

“I came here a little while ago. Please sleep more.”

“Have you solved everything?”

Adrian nodded. As the darkness came to my eyes, she could see his face a little more clearly. Although he was smiling, his face was somewhat blurry.

“What about Hennessy?”

“He will die soon.”

“Gotcha. What about Hegel?”

“He’s dead.”

“…I see.”

He’s dead. Did Adrian kill him? Was that why she didn’t feel at peace? Aside from what he did to her, he had done something so colossal. Hennessy would certainly be sentenced to death, and even if he were alive, Hegel would also receive the same punishment. Because they were in the same group as the guys who broke into the palace and chased after the princess. Still, wouldn’t it have been better to go to trial at least, if we could at least make an excuse? No, that would have only hurt both of us even more. It could not have been easy for Adrian or anyone else to fight Hegel, his long-time colleague. They probably ended it in their own way. Even though she hated Hegel, who stabbed Jenny and imprisoned her, her heart is so complicated right now, and this person will do even more.

‘So, let’s give him a hug.’

She hugged Adrian’s large torso. So tight that your cheeks are crushed against his chest, which was like a warm stone. Adrian hugged her and kissed he forehead. And he said.

“You still have a mild fever.”

‘Let’s not measure the temperature with our lips.’

“It’ll be okay tomorrow.”

“If your fever doesn’t go down tomorrow, I’ll bring the royal doctor back.”

“I’m sure it will be okay.”

When she answered Adrian’s serious voice with a chuckle, he brushed her hair. A gentle touch feels good. The arm she was sleeping on was warm, and Adrian’s body leaning against it was also warm. It’s so nice. Now she felt like both her mind and body had relaxed. She thought the reason she was sleepy and tired all day today was because she didn’t sleep well yesterday, but she guessed it was because her shriveled heart wasn’t fully restored. Adrien’s warmth was completely transferred to her, so she felt really good now.

“Is it all over now?”

“Yes, it is finished.”

“Then don’t go to work tomorrow and just skip it.”

“I will.”

She laughed again at the quick and decisive answer. She could also hear Adrian’s laughter. They hugged and talked about trivial things. And then she felt asleep, hugging him tightly. It was a warm and peaceful night.

The next day, when she opened her eyes, the room was already bright. As he blinked, Adrian’s eyelids also went up. Adrian smiled brightly, folding his red-yellow eyes so finely that they could not be seen. It’s a big deal. Her man’s face has been melting her heart since morning.

As she fumbled with Adrian’s face, he smiled and said,

“Did you sleep comfortably?”

“Yes. I slept well and refreshed. Did Adrian sleep well too?”

“Yes, I overslept.”

“Good job.”

He lifted his body up and stretched his body. It looks like the baby rhino has gone looking for its mother. Her body couldn’t be this light! Adrian got up after her, looked at her forehead, and smiled sweetly again. The fever must have gone down. Everything was healed. ‘Hurrah, I don’t have to take medicine anymore.’

Adrian said he wouldn’t go to work today, so he got out of bed, determined to stay with her all day. She should do nothing and just look at Adrian’s face. Adrian, who kissed her cheek, went to his room, and Jenny, who somehow knew, came into his room. As she washed her face with the wash water that Millie and Louise brought, she hear that a guest was here.

“Ailene?”

“Yes. She has been waiting since two hours.”

Was it ten now? She came at 8 a.m. and said he came without permission and would wait until she was ready. She guessed she was worried about her too. After putting on her gown and going down to the living room, she hugged her with her big eyes filled with tears.

“I’m glad you survived, Damien.”

“I’m sorry for making you worry.”

Her friend, who was hugging her and shaking, conveyed his sincerity, which made the tip of her nose feel sore. After hugging her for a while, Ailene pulled away and looked around at her. When she told her with a smile that she was completely fine, she straightened up and smiled. Since it had been a while since they had seen each other, she wanted to talk, but after confirming that she was okay, she said that Ailene would go back.

“I saw that you were safe, so it’s okay. We can talk slowly later, so rest first.”

She came early in the morning, waited for two hours, and said he would return in 20 minutes, so she held her back because he felt sorry, but she only worried about her and left the mansion. As she was seeing off, Ailene, who was about to get into the carriage, approached me and said something in a low voice.

“You can refuse if it’s difficult, Damien.”

“No, contact Sir Cale at the Capital Army Headquarters. I’ll send you a letter. But, are you okay? Would you like me to go with you?”

“No, I’ll go alone. Thank you, Damien.”

Ailene, who had a gloomy face for a moment, soon straightened her expression and smiled brightly. Then he hugged her one more time and left. As she was watching the disappearing carriage, Adrian approached her. With a soft and fluffy face, he said breakfast was ready. She guessed he slept well last night. The complexion of his face improved a lot in just one day. She smiled at the pretty face that made her smile, and Adrian’s face melted again.

After finishing an exciting breakfast filled with her favorite things, Jenny came again with medicine. She protested fiercely, saying she was cured now and that she didn’t need to take medicine, but it didn’t work for her. She sat down in the living room with a puffy face after biting into the candy, and now she looked at Adrian’s face in earnest.

“A guest has arrived.” Jenny said.

“George is back.” Ethan also said.

Then George and Laurel came into the drawing room together. Laurel rushed over and hugged me, and George grumbled in a tearful tone, unable to do anything.

“Oh my, miss. How much did I find?”

“I did penance.”

As Laurel fiercely rubbed her face against my cheek and answered in a broken tone, Adrian left with George looking somewhat uncomfortable. Laurel was boiling inside because she didn’t know what was going on inside Midock, and then she met George who came to see her and said that she was only able to come in after confirming that the soldiers guarding the castle were from the capital army. She had a cup of tea with Laurel, who was grateful that she came right away to see me without stopping by the house, and after making an appointment to meet again, she waved her off. And then she sat down with him again in the living room and looked at Adrian’s face.

“Miss”

What else!?
