CHAPTER 5: HERE, NOW, AND YOU (XV)

Part 111

She shrugged her shoulders and turned around to see Jenny and the maids standing there. Wow, she was surprised.

“Jenny, why do you keep walking around when I tell you to rest?”

“Miss, you need to take your medicine.”

“I didn’t take poison, so what kind of medicine should I take?”

“It’s medicine for cold and body aches.”

It’s obvious that if she argued with Jenny about her health, she would lose. Millie picked up the bottle of medicine on the tray she was holding and poured it into her mouth in one go. As she was reeling from the bitter taste of the medicine that Homer had given her, which hit her tongue and made her come to her senses, and was clearly from the same neighborhood, Louis quickly offered her a candy.

She put the candy in her mouth and muttered to Jenny.

“Okay, that’s enough now, right? Now go and rest.”

She still vividly remembered the blood pouring out of her stomach, and she was so worried that she said this, but Jenny started crying.

“Why do you keep telling me to go? Do you hate me now because I couldn’t protect you?”

Jenny, with tears in her eyes, almost fell to her knees, so he grabbed Jenny’s arm and lifted her up. Was this like a broken cow?

“What are you talking about? I hate Jenny!”

“I’m sorry, miss. I should have protected you better…”

She hugged Jenny, who was shedding tears.

“That’s ridiculous, Jenny almost died while protecting me! Why are you saying such nonsense? I love Jenny so much! I’m just afraid she’ll get sick. Don’t cry, okay? Okay, go now. I won’t tell you to rest, so stay right next to me. I won’t do anything for you, will you?”

“Are you sure?”

“Then!”

When she nodded her head up and down vigorously, Jenny wiped her tears and smiled. A maid in the world cut her sword to protect her young lady. How could she hate Jenny, who clung to her and refused to let go of her hand even as she shed her blood?

“Then, my lady, would you rather be a housewife or take a bath?”

“I’m going to take a bath, but I just have to watch Jenny. Okay?”

“Yes, like that.”

She went up to the room and had tea with Jenny while Millie and Louise got ready for the bath. Come to think of it, she hadn’t been able to take a bath since she washed her hair in the River Lorraine. She was stuck with Adrian like this. She guessed it didn’t smell. She lifted her arm and sniffed, and Jenny tilted her head and looked at her.

“Hmm, hmm, did Sir Franz go to the palace? I haven’t seen him since a while ago?”

“What do you know? That bastard.”

What? Jenny said, turning her head with a fierce expression. Sir Franz saved Jenny from death, but why was Jenny reacting like this? Did they fight?

“Did you quarrel with Sir Franz?”

“You really have great speed, young lady. Why are you curious about the escort knight who didn’t even know how to get a young lady captured??

“Huh? No, Jenny, why are you talking like that?”

“I’m the same one who couldn’t protect the young lady, so I’m not qualified to say this, but still, Franz is the young lady’s escort. If he sent her away like that and saved my life, well, I guess you thought I’d be grateful, right?”

When she looked closely, it wasn’t a face that was criticizing her, but a face that clearly showed that she was upset. It was obvious that Franz was doing this more because he felt sorry for her for leaving her alone to save her, so she wanted to pat him on the shoulder, but she deliberately kept a straight face.

“I’m going to be very grateful?”

“Yes? But, my lady, Franz didn’t do his job.”

“Sir Franz is my bodyguard.”

“That’s right!”

“The escort knight is the person who protects me closest. If such a person does not follow my wishes at the most important moment, I will be in trouble, Jenny.”

She spoke as firmly as I could, but Jenny still muttered with an unconvinced look on her face.

“But the guard knight should have sacrificed his life to save the young lady…”

“The palace was already occupied, and Jenny was bleeding. If Sir Franz had fought Hegel there, the militia would have come and killed both Jenny and Sir Franz. Then I wouldn’t have been able to tell who I was taken to. Okay, who would have known even if Hegel pretended not to know and returned to the mansion? That would be a bigger problem.”

Jenny’s shoulders trembled, probably imagining her disappointment after hearing my story. She held Jenny’s hand and smiled.

“I can’t tell you how grateful I am that Sir Franz followed my wishes back then. So make up with Jenny as soon as possible.”

She patted the back of Jenny’s hand as she lowered her head without answering, and after a long time, she softly answered that she understood. Adrian, Jenny, and Franz are all such pretty people, so it’s great. She went into the bathroom with Jenny, who didn’t look completely refreshed, but seemed to understand anyway. She took off her clothes and let down her hair to go into the bathtub where the warm water was flowing, but Jenny called her. It was a voice she had heard before.

“Miss…”

“Uh, huh?”

Even though she was prepared to point out something and turned her head, her hair stood up when she saw Jenny’s face. Jenny, who had turned black in her sitting position and was giving off a black aura, asked me.

“Who (beep—) made the hair like that? Is it Hegel too?”

That’s right, this was it. This was how she swore. As expected of Jenny. She felt refreshed inside. Jenny was turning into a demon while sitting in his chair. She could almost see an illusion of an unknown dark and eerie energy creeping up from the floor. She was glad to hear Jenny’s cool swear words after a long time, but Millie and Louis stiffened at the brilliant six-headed sound they had never heard before. This morning, as she was tying his hair, she thought about Jenny. The hair that was held in place was cut off in the middle, so the length did not become beautifully shorter, but strange layers were lost here and there from the bob length to the original length. It was Homer who cut off his hair, but it was another bad guy who was holding him, so let’s spare Homer.

“It wasn’t Hegel, it was another bad guy, and he’s dead.”

Jenny looked like she was going to go to hell to catch him at any moment, but he made a sad face and comforted her.

“I’ll make it look pretty tomorrow, miss.”

“Yep.”

Jenny’s eyes returned to normal, but she went into the bathtub while patting Millie and Louise, who were still shaking and hugging each other.

‘Oh well, I think I will buy it.’

As she was soaking in warm water and feeling soggy, Millie and Louise, under Jenny’s direction, were rubbing something into my hair. In fact, if you tie it up, you can’t even see it. Well, her hair was Jenny’s. If Jenny was okay, everyone was okay. After washing up and coming out with the utmost care from Millie and Buis, who were all in good spirits, I talked to Ethan about what had happened so far. Ethan almost sobbed as he told the story of the past, probably because he was in so much pain. She held the back of her neck several times while listening. What did Jenny say earlier? These (beep—) guys! How can you make my flower wither like that?

She was even more upset when she heard that Adrian barely had any dick. She guessed she shouldn’t have sent him anyway. Should she tell him not to go to work tomorrow? Bigor, who had been arguing with the royal doctor in her room earlier, called the doctor in charge and checked Jenny’s condition. Hearing that she absolutely needed stability, she scolded Jenny severely and sent her back to her room.

She sat down at her desk because she had a lot of work to do, but she kept yawning, so she ended up going back to bed.

* * *

Franz and Thierry, who were running through the mountains chasing Hegel and Hennessy at the foot of Mt. Sasso, which runs from the north of the royal palace, stopped at a fork in the road that split in two directions. Other knights were also scattered in the mountains looking for them. With the capital army already surrounding Mt. Saso, it was only a matter of time before they were caught. The two people who were looking at the traces decided to split up and continue the chase. Franz made his way towards the circle of blood stains. Thierry, who was about to head to the other side, called out to Franz, who was about to run away.

“Franz”

“Yes, brother.”

“If you lost this much blood, you probably couldn’t have gone far.”

“I guess so. You’ll be able to catch it soon.”

“That guy…”

Thierry opened his mouth with a complicated expression as he saw Franz answering with a stern expression, but was unable to continue his words. He didn’t even know what to say. High, Hegel said,

“I know, brother, that’s why I’m going.”

In Franz’s moonlit eyes, Thierry saw something other than anger. With a stern face and a shaky voice, Franz continued to speak.

“If I don’t do it, one of my brothers will have to do it. Or maybe my lord will have to do it. We’ve gone too far to turn back.”

He thought he was an immature youngest child, but Thierry groaned at Franz’s words. A knight who was supposed to obey his lord absolutely went against his will and took a precious person to threaten his lord. It was a clear fact that Hegel was with those who had tried to poison Damian. No matter how you think about it, Franz was right. You guys have gone far away. Hegel was especially fond of Franz. Franz also followed Hegel a lot. The speed of that bastard may not have been surprising, but the decision became more complicated as the youngest son wanted to get blood on his hands for the feelings of his older brothers and lord. Franz ran out, leaving Thierry lowering his head with a dark face. It was a dark forest, but I followed the scent of blood and found Hegel not far away. He was bleeding profusely, and as he sat leaning against him with his pale face, he found Lanz and lifted himself up with the help of his sword.

“Park Nae is here.”

Franz didn’t answer. He raised his sword without saying a word. Hegel also raised his sword. And he pounced on Franz. The swords clashed, and Franz’s expressionless forehead furrowed. It was not Hegel’s sword that we usually shared. It was not the fast, light, and sharp sword of my predecessor. Blood was still flowing from Hegel’s left arm. He suffered such wounds and was unable to stop the bleeding properly, so he continued to run away. If Hegel had not been a knight, it would not be surprising if he had already collapsed somewhere. Unable to even divide the sum, Hegel dropped his sword. He smiled bitterly as he looked down at his empty right hand, hanging his left arm dripping with blood. When Franz was unable to move, standing with his sword pointed at his own neck, Hegel chuckled and said,

“Kill, Franz. A knight with nowhere to return must die or he will become a ghost.”

Franz gritted his teeth. He had a lot of strength in his hand holding the sword, but he couldn’t. This guy stabbed Jenny right in front of his eyes. He took Damian away. He turned his master’s face black and raised Jenny. It was clear that he would die if he was taken back like this. Even if he is brought to trial, he will be sentenced to death and his head will be cut off while people throw stones. Yeah, he deserved it. However, even though the past four years together had already become meaningless, he didn’t want to be beheaded like that. Maybe Adrian’s sword will cut off his head. He didn’t want to burden his lord with the emotions he was feeling right now. Hegel gritted his teeth as he looked at Franz’s eyes filled with tears. He left a heavy burden on Park Nae. But still, Franz was better. He didn’t want to be caught like this and have his nails driven into his master’s chest again. He pulled out the dagger he was wearing at his waist. While swinging his sword to block Hegel, who was attacking him with the intention of killing him, Franz’s sword pierced Hegel’s chest. The face of the fallen man looked relieved, and Franz was unable to move for a long time while standing.
