CHAPTER 5.3

CHAPTER 5: HERE, NOW, AND YOU (III)

Part 099

Adrian closed his eyes and recalled an old memory.

‘Why should meaningless blood be shed for one person’s greed?’ he said. He must deny the words he spat in front of Antalov Bigor, who calls himself the Antalov Hegemony, and who now calls himself Hennessy Bigor.

It wasn’t something grand that could be called ‘justice’, but I lived my life thinking that it was my mission to protect the powerless and good people. Because of his greed, he stopped his father from causing the deceased to bleed, and with his own hands he cut down Dozern, who started the war. Is this the earnestness they were talking about? For the first time, Adrian understood his father’s cry as he punched him in the face. If he can get Damian back, he can cut down anyone. Even if it is the Crown Prince whose hands and feet are tied and who cannot even resist. Whether good or powerless, he could even become the devil to get Damian back.

Adrian slowly drew his sword.

He had no hesitation. However, Damian’s face flashed as he smiled brightly when he said that he wanted to be a good person. As Doyev and Hennessy watched with amused expressions as Adrian approached Tyrellius with his sword drawn and Tyrellius, whose entire body was tied up, struggled to retreat, Homer, who had been watching the situation from up close, burst in. did. Homer drew his sword, covered Tyrellius, and faced Adrian. Doyev was surprised for a moment, but then took a step back with an even more interesting look on his face.

“Captain, step back, I will cut you down too.”

Homer smiled bitterly as he faced Adrian’s unhesitating face.

“When Damien finds out, he’ll be sad.”

Adrian paused when Damian’s name came up. Homer turned and looked down at Tyrellius. Tyrellius, with a distorted face covered in tears, mumbled something and wriggled, rubbing his face against Homer’s leg. He didn’t mean for it to end like this. However, Homer closed his eyes and raised his sword. And he took a big swing. Tyrellius’ head fell to the ground and rolled, his blood spurted, and the courtiers screamed. It was an instant.

“Please take care of the rest, Duke.”

While everyone was shocked, Homer started running. Doyev was yelling to catch that guy, but Adrian quickly approached him and pointed a sword at his neck.

“Anyway, the crown prince is dead. Isn’t that enough?”

As the soldiers gathered in confusion, Hennessy, who had lost his temper, stood up and said,

“Ah, it’s okay, it’s okay. Anyway, the Crown Prince is dead, and you are the first in line to succeed to the Laurentian throne. The coronation ceremony will have to be held as soon as possible. There’s so much to do. Shouldn’t we start with a noble meeting or something?”

“Where is Damian?”

“You can start whenever the nobles are ready. The palace will be open from today.”

“Damian, where is she?”

Adrian asked again, glaring at Hennessy who was talking nonsense. Patience was at its limit. Hennessy said with a grin.

“She’s fine, if you behave. She’ll be better off if you listen to me. If you want your woman back, she’ll have to get busy.”

“You can’t get anything until you make sure she’s safe.”

“You can’t confirm anything until I get what I want. Stop messing around with Midoc. You’ll do something pointless and your woman will get hurt.”

Hennessy giggled and entered her main palace. Doyev said, backing away from the tip of the sword pointed at my neck.

“Hang this in front of the ingredient.”

Doyev, who ordered the soldiers while pointing at Tyrellius’s neck, ignored Adrian and entered the main palace, and the soldiers disappeared somewhere, dragging the terrified courtiers with them. Adrian stood alone for a long time in front of the main palace where everyone had disappeared. He got rid of the anger that seemed to be melting from his head and left the palace.

* * *

She spent time sitting down, falling asleep and waking up repeatedly. How long had she been sitting motionless? The iron cabinet was opened and Hegel came in again carrying a tray. Looking at the mess on the floor, she sighed and put the tray down on the table.

“You really are an annoyingly perceptive person, young lady.”

She got out from under the covers and stood next to the bed, glaring at him without responding. She didn’t know what to do when she didn’t know what the other person who could do anything to her would do. Hegel, who was looking down at her, sighed again and picked up the hard bread that had fallen on the floor. And she took a big bite. She ate some of the new bread he had brought and drank water from the kettle.

“But this time, you guessed wrong. I told you not to eat anything other than what I gave you, right? You can eat this.”

She didn’t respond this time, just rolled her eyes and looked at Hegel. Hegel, who was scratching his head while looking at me, began to clean up the bread and kettle that had fallen on the floor.

“If you don’t eat and lose energy, it will only be a loss for you, my lord. My lord is looking for his thirst, so should I worry you any more?”

“Has Adrian come to Midoc?”

She couldn’t keep her mouth shut at Adrian’s name. As she took a step closer and asked, Hegel grinned.

“Are you ready to talk now? Yes, my lord, he has returned. He has released the children and is running around all over Midoc. Well, he might cry here too once in a while. So, you have to move soon. It will be a long way. “If your physical strength becomes weak without you even knowing it, it will be difficult.”

“Where are you taking me?”

“Well, first of all, somewhere out of the master’s reach??”

Hegel laughed again. The smiling face was disgusting.

She was very curious about what was going on outside. There’s nothing she could do since she was trapped anyway, but she wanted to know something, but there’s no other way than Hegel.

She said, wiping away the goosebumps that had sprouted on his forearms.

“What on earth are you trying to do to Adrian? You know that just because Lorraine is king doesn’t mean he can do anything.”

“That is the limit of this country. Even though it has the military power to become an empire, it is only a kingdom. If only the lord takes the lead, it is not a dream for the Laurentians to unify the central continent. And you will become the Empress. Wouldn’t it be cool?”

“Was that your dream? Or was it someone else’s dream you mentioned earlier?”

Hegel looked at her face without expression, then shook his head and laughed.

“You shouldn’t spill words, Miss. Yes, that’s right. It was someone’s dream. Brilliant girl, do you even guess who that person is?”

“Were you related to Duke Bigor?”

Hegel laughed out loud for a long time after hearing what I said. Then he nodded his head loudly.

“As expected, you’re excellent. I recognized you at a glance. You’re a smart young lady worthy of our master.”

Hegel laughed happily, but she felt as if the ice under my feet had broken and she had fallen into icy water. He was already a person with a heavy burden on his mind regarding his father, but something like this happens. She wondered how Adrian was looking for her right now, she wanted to hug him, but instead of the person she wanted to see, the crazy guy standing in front of her was laughing excitedly.

“What do you think? After hearing it, doesn’t your heart change? If you persuade your master to dance, things will become easier.”

“So what do you get?”

“I will become the vanguard leading your army. If you become king and appoint me as commander, I will become a loyal subject who will lead the Laurentian army and run anywhere, risking my life.”

Was this person crazy? Did he have no idea what he’s doing? Loyalist? He did this to Adrian and called him his lord? The Lorentine Empire? She didn’t know where to start telling him that this was bullshit. Seeing Hegel smiling dreamily into space, he didn’t even feel like talking anymore.

“Don’t call him master. You don’t deserve it.”

When she shot him with a straight face, Hegel, who had been laughing, immediately hardened his face.

“You don’t know. Please don’t talk about the time I spent with my lord.”

“Look at what you’re doing. You’re the one who carelessly calls me lord. How much time do you spend together when a knight who wants to become a loyalist kidnaps and threatens his lord’s lover?”

“You don’t know anything! My lord, I’m sure you will understand what I mean. All of this is for you.”

Hegel’s answer made her burst into laughter. She couldn’t help but laugh exaggeratedly, then looked straight at him and said,

“Is it for Adrian that you took over the palace, kidnapped me, and imprisoned me here? All of this is for your dirty greed, not for anyone else. Hegel, you are shameless and cowardly.”

“Everyone lives for their own greed. Do you think it would be any different for my lord? He tried to kill the crown prince to get his lady back.”

What does this mean? Adrian to the crown prince…? Barely hiding her surprise and embarrassment, she glared at Hegel and continued speaking.

“Don’t be funny, if Adrian killed the crown prince, you killed him with Adrian’s sword. You forced him to make the wrong choice, so why is it Adrian’s fault? It’s your fault!”

“It’s sophistry. It was the master’s choice to draw a sword against the crown prince.”

“You’re the one doing the trick. Who’s holding on to your loved one? Who threatened you to do this? No, it’s all your choice. Stabbing Jenny, locking me up, threatening Adrian, all of it. It’s your choice!”

Hegel looked like he had been hit and was unable to respond. He looked at me with a very aggrieved expression on his face for a long time, and then laughed helplessly.

“Well, that’s fine. You’re not wrong, Miss. It was all my choice. But you know what? Some choices are made against your will.”

After finishing speaking, Hegel turned and left, making a gesture that he would not listen to her answer. She was exhausted and collapsed on the bed. She couldn’t sleep, she couldn’t eat, she was constantly shaking and screaming, and her head was dizzy. At least one thing Hegel said was correct. If she begged for help, she would only lose. Adrian was looking for her, and he would find her soon. She didn’t want to hurt his feelings with a blank face. Anyway, Hegel didn’t seem to have any intention of charging her the same thing, so for now she picked up the bread on the table. She was about to eat it, but just in case, she put it down and picked up the bread that Hegel had just taken a bite of. She put dry bread in her mouth and tried to summarize the story of Hegel’s fascination, but there was too little information to know what was going on outside. Adrian was back, and the crown prince was dead? Was he really planning to put Adrian on the throne? And what? He’s going to create the Lorraine Empire? What on earth was this endless nonsense? If it has anything to do with Duke Bigor, Hegel was not doing this alone. It was Adrian who stopped the Duke’s rebellion. His dream was a powerful Laurentian Empire, and Adrian was the one who thwarted it. Who could believe the rumor that they were trying to make Adrian the Emperor of the empire? If she got out of here, she would be able to catch those guys without Adrian being swayed, but there’s no way for her to escape from his cold underground cell without a window alone. She was choking on the soft bread and swallowing it.
