CHAPTER 5.2

CHAPTER 5: HERE, NOW, AND YOU (II)

Part 098

On Saturday morning, as the sun rose, Adrian and Bigor’s knights arrived at Midok. Adrian arrived at the Duke’s residence and met Franz kneeling in front of the entrance. Franz looked up at Adrian with a bloodless face and hit his head on the ground.

“Stand up.”

As soon as he got up at Adrian’s command, he fell to the floor again.  Adrian spoke without intonation to Franz, who had been hit so hard that his molars shook.

“His disposition shall be after her return. Reinstate him in the order of knights.”

Behind Adrian, who turned and walked away, Franz bowed his head. Rather, he felt relieved. He was a knight who failed to fulfill his duty, so he planned to follow even if he was told to die, but he hoped that he would win after finding Damian, even if he died at the time. Hegel, who plunged a knife into Jenny’s body and took Damien right before her eyes, cannot be forgiven no matter what. Franz strengthened his resolve and joined the Knights Templar. Adrian headed to the room where Jenny was receiving treatment. He stopped Jenny from getting up and demanded an explanation of the situation. Jenny barely suppressed her tears with evil eyes as she relayed the situation at the time, and Adrian barely managed to control his anger and asked.

“Didn’t he say anything else?”

“That murderous bastard said he would send her back when the duke returns. Since I couldn’t protect the person I served, I will do it if it means giving up my life. Duke, please just save our lady.”

With tears pouring from her red, bloodshot eyes, Jenny forced herself up and lowered her head. The doctor next to her panicked, but neither her patient, whose wound had burst, nor Adrian, who was looking down on her, were in an unusual state, so they were unable to intervene. Adrian gritted his teeth and turned around, spitting out his words softly between his teeth and leaving.

“He’ll be back soon.”

As Jenny fell onto her bed and burst into tears, her wounds, which she had managed to stop, began to bleed again. The doctor clung to Jenny’s side, making her face look like she was about to come. Adrian asked Ethan as he went up to the office.

“I heard it’s not life-threatening.”

“My organs are a little damaged, but I’m sure they will recover.”

“Captain?”

“I sent someone, they will be here soon.”

“Hegel, Hennessy, Doyev, anything is fine. Find data that can help you infer where Damien is being held.”

“Yes.”

Ethan stopped following Adrian and turned around and ran. When Ethan, who had overturned the filing cabinet of ‘Chokdal’, went up to the office with Homer, who had just arrived, the thick paulownia table was cracked horizontally and scattered, and Adrian was sitting at the desk, burning quietly. Neither Ethan nor Homer were standing stiffly, unable to dare to speak to them, when Adrian spoke with his bright red eyes shining.

“Report.”

“Yes, old times! We sent the children to Luther Street, Doyev’s last destination, and to the residences of Hennessy’s relatives remaining in Midok. They said the militia they organized was active in the outer castle area, so there are children who will look around the outer castle area. We set off.”

“What about Hegel?”

“I’m sorry. Master, Hegel’s military remains remain in the National Guard, and there are no separate documents kept on Hegel, Thierry, George, or me. 4 It was definitely clean when we investigated it a year ago. ”

Ethan made a guilty face and lowered his head. He had no intention of blaming Ethan for not investigating his closest associate, whom even he had never suspected, but he was even more angry at his own carelessness. Homer, who was listening to the conversation between the two, intervened.

“Shouldn’t we meet them first? I need to hear what they’re talking about before we can come up with the next plan.”

“That’s right. Did you say the outer palace is closed?”

“Yes. But even if that were the case, there would be about a thousand soldiers guarding them. There would be no way to break through.”

“Nothing good can come from hasty provocation.”

“Then what do you plan to do?”

“The door is closed, so you have to knock. I go into the palace alone.”

Ethan jumped at Adrian’s words. These are the guys who blindly followed Antalov. Adrian, who had made his dreams come true, seemed like an enemy, so meeting them alone was ridiculous.

“Master, what are you saying? Absolutely not.”

“I know how they will come out. If they were trying to take my life, they would have used a different tactic a long time ago.”

“But that’s not possible! Even if you go with all the knights around you, you’re going to go in alone in a situation that will stop you!”

“I agree with you. Excellency the Duke, I agree that he will ask for something else from you, but it is still too risky.”

Even Homer tried to dissuade Adrian, but he stood up with a stern face.

“I’m the one they’re waiting for anyway. At a time like this, find a place where Damian might be.”

Adrian’s mood since last night was so vicious that Ethan couldn’t say anything more and just stamped his feet. Homer, who was thinking about something for a moment, said as he followed Adrian.

“I will go inside the palace. It won’t be of much help, but if even the duke goes wrong, things will become very difficult.”

“Is it possible?”

“There is a secret passage through which the ‘King’s Eye’ enters and exits.”

In the worst case scenario, he looked at Homer for a moment, offering to be a shield that could save Adrian’s life. Adrian hurried his steps. He was not a person who could be stopped, so it would be better to take at least one card that could respond to variables. Nothing mattered now except Damian.

* * *

When they arrived near the palace, Homer hid himself, and Adrian shouted loudly in front of the tightly closed outer palace chamber.

“Adrian Bigorda. Open the box!”

A soldier stuck his head out from the high castle wall, checked Adrian’s face, and entered. he door opened so easily that it made you lose your temper, and the few soldiers watched with evil eyes as Adrian entered. As he arrived at the inner palace along the wide open road, his mouth opened as if he had been waiting. Adrian slowly drove his horse through the soldiers who filled both sides of the wide road in front of the main palace. Past the large fountain and in front of the main palace entrance, the courtiers kneeling before him were looking at Adrian with anxious eyes, and Hennessy was sitting in the middle of them on a large chair. And in front of him, a person with a rope wrapped around his head and a cloth wrapped around his head was kneeling towards Adrian. He stopped his words in front of an unidentified person and looked down at Hennessy who was sitting in a chair. Doyev, who was standing behind Hennessy’s chair, came forward and spoke to Adrian.

“It’s been a while since I saw you, Master.”

“I think I told you to stop using that name.”

Adrian accepted the words without any agitation. Doyev smiled evilly and tightened his waist.

“You will always be a young master to me. Your performance during the war was remarkable. If the Duke had seen you, he would have praised you.”

“The ghosts of the dead are talking nonsense. Where is she?”

“Still, there is no sign of reverence for his father. Why is he his only blood relative? How can he not understand his great intentions!”

“Don’t give in to dirty greed. Didn’t your father and you just want to become the owners of this palace?”

Unable to bear his master’s insults, Doyev gasped and trembled. Hennessy, who was sitting, got up and walked in front of Adrian.

“Do not call your lord father. You are not qualified.”

“You’re the one who doesn’t deserve it.”

Adrian laughed at Hennessy, his red eyes flashing. Hennessy’s face, who was standing with a luxurious cloak that a king might wear, was stained with anger.

“The true successor to Bigor, who inherited the legacy of his lord, is none other than Hennessy Bigor. He has the right qualifications. I can’t believe he didn’t even know that he lived a life exceeding his expectations just because he was his son. .”

Adrian, who had been listening to Hennessy speak solemnly, twisted his mouth and spoke.

“Father really raised a talkative dog. Don’t bark and talk. Where is she?”

“How dare you!”

Hennessy could not bear it anymore and drew his sword. But Adrian just looked down at him from his horse without blinking. When Hennessy seemed to attack Adrian, Doyev stepped forward to calm him down.

“Don’t fall for the immature boy’s provocation. He has to listen to us anyway.”

While Hennessy, barely able to control his anger, nodded his head and sheathed his sword, Adrian jumped from his horse. Doyev was right. No matter what bullshit they were talking about, Adrian was the one who had to listen. Hennessy huffed and went back to his seat, and Doyev looked at Adrian with a triumphant look and said,

“Is there something you want, Master? When I heard the story from Hegel, I was skeptical, but after seeing you running in such a hurry, I guess it’s true that the young lady is holding your name.”

Hegel’s name came out of Doyev’s mouth. Hegel: To tie yourself up, you have to kidnap Damien. When Adrian was unable to respond and clenched his fists after hearing that he had told them, Doyev’s smile deepened.

“Yes, how badly do you want it? Do you think there’s nothing you can’t do as long as you can get that lady back?”

“Say your demands, don’t spin around.”

“It’s not that simple, young master. Shouldn’t you apologize to your father first? What did you say? Innocent people shouldn’t be sacrificed for one person’s greed? Was that your justice?”

“I told you to state your requirements.”

Doyev grinned and continued his words mockingly, and Adrian bit his lip and endured with difficulty. Doyev removed the cloth from the head of the kneeling man who had been struggling earlier. Tyrelius, who was writhing around with a gag in his mouth, screamed in a muffled voice towards Adrian.

Adrian’s forehead naturally furrowed.

“What are you saying?”

“Kill him.”

“What?”

“Shouldn’t you feel the earnestness that you want and desire so much that you are willing to give up even a little bit of rehabilitation? Only then can you understand your father’s feelings even a little.”

Tyrellius shook his head violently, tears streaming down his face, and Hennessy laughed heartily behind him. Many of the courtiers, unable to make a sound and only rolling their eyes, were looking at Adrian and Tyrellius alternately. Adrian popped the brain into his mouth.

“Crazy guys.”

“Don’t you want to save that young lady? Weren’t you so desperate that you would kill the rich man who couldn’t resist?”

“Kill the crown prince, then what?”

“If you killed the person who would become king, you should become king.”

Doyev chuckled after saying his words.

“And you’re asking me to act as your puppet king?”

“You may have inherited the duke’s bloodline, but you have been smart since you were young. Yes, young master, there is something we have wanted for a long time. It is also what the duke has wished for. Your son, young master, must make it come true.”

“Being king doesn’t mean I can grant all your demands.”

“That is a problem for you to solve. What can a desperate person do?”

Adrian closed his eyes and let out a sigh. This is absurd. It was all bullshit from start to finish. But, they have Damian with them. Adrian had to nod his head, even if he was really talking like a dog barking.
