CHAPTER 3.27

CHAPTER 3: YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO BE THERE (XXVII)

Part 066

When Adrian arrived at the palace by driving his horse like crazy, the naval forces under Cale’s command had already surpassed the outer palace and surrounded the inner palace. Cale, who discovered Adrian, rushed over to inform him of the situation.

“The people who ran away from the palace alerted us to the Royal Guard’s mutiny, but they were unable to break through the palace gates because they did not know exactly what was going on inside. The scouting team has now entered and will return soon.”

“Drill it.”

“Yes?”

“There is no time to wait for the reconnaissance team. Let’s break down the palace gate right now. No, it’s too late to break it down. There! Get the ladder! Let’s go in right away!”

Adrian moved the horse’s head without listening to Cale’s answer. A siege ladder was quickly placed in response to an order given directly by the commander. Before he could order the deployment of his troops, Adrian jumped from his horse and flew up the ladder. Cale gave orders to his soldiers in an urgent voice.

“Follow the commander! The 1st and 2nd battalions will immediately go to the main headquarters to find His Majesty and the Queen and protect their wives! The 3rd battalion will search for the crown prince. The 6th battalion will block the doors to prevent anyone from entering and leaving, and the rest will follow the commander. Let’s go in!”

Then Cale also jumped up the ladder. As soon as he crossed the castle wall, he saw Adrian’s back already running away. Without even thinking about it, this would be the direction where the princess’s palace is located. Cale, who was following Adrian, stopped when a thought occurred to him. It was suspicious that the Royal Guard, who were said to have led the rebellion, did not block the route and left the road open. The plan is to concentrate all of the troops, quickly achieve the goal, and then flee. Cale stopped running after Adrian and divided the following troops into two. Half of the group followed Adrian, and led the other half to the back door. As he rushed forward like crazy, Adrian thought that the palace was unexpectedly quiet. He was extremely quiet, even though the corpses of his maids and servants were strewn about, and there was a rebellion going on inside the palace. The forces that had already come together as one would have moved according to a neatly planned plan. And if there is no force to stop them, this type of silent slaughter breaks out.

Her heart was pounding like it was going to explode. She was running like she was flying, but the distance to the princess’s palace was too far. Since Franz was there, nothing major will happen. That’s not Franz, who couldn’t stop the Royal Guard. Moreover, the princess has an unparalleled genius swordsman. She was told that in a match against each other, no one could surpass him. therefore. You will be safe. You will definitely be safe. As we crossed the main gate of the princess’s palace, corpses were lying face down in front of us. The hall inside the entrance hall was also littered with corpses. The guards in white uniforms who filled the stairs leading up to the second floor in a Y shape shouted when they spotted Adrian who came from behind.

“Damn it, already! We’re pulling out! We’re pulling out! Clear the way!”

Ban and Franz, who had blocked the entrance to the second floor and were running wild at the ends of the stairs on both sides, shouted with joy.

“Master!”

“Duke Bigor!”

“What about Damian?!”

“The lady is safe!”

Adrian breathed a sigh of relief as he cut off the head of the attacking guard. For a moment, his legs almost gave out.

‘Thank God. She is safe. They said she was safe.’

She was safely on the stairs, and the dozens of guards who were blocked by Van, Franz, and Adrian raised their swords with frustrated faces. As Adrian, whose eyes had changed, rushed in without hesitation, the Royal Guards, who had already lost their will to fight, fell helplessly. Even before the capital army, which followed Adrian, arrived, the situation was resolved. When the last guard who held on fell to the floor with his heart pierced, Franz, who had thrown away his sword, flopped down on the floor and suffered from agony. It was a battle that lasted almost an hour. Although he had physical strength, the blade of the sword he was not used to in his hands was chipped all over, making it difficult for him to cut as he wanted. After giving Franz a pat on the shoulder, Adrian turned his back on him and walked to the end of the hallway. Ban, who had retrieved the sword, followed behind him. As Adrian urgently knocked on the door, Van spoke from behind.

“It’s half over. The situation is over.”

As soon as the maid opened the door, her eyes met Damien, who was sitting on the long sofa against one of her walls, watching Ailene, and turned her head. Something hot rose from the inside of her throat. Nothing else was visible. Damian, whose face looked like it was about to collapse for a split second, soon folded his eyes and smiled broadly. At that moment, Adrian ran and hugged Damian. He buried his face in her neck and shoulder and hugged her very tightly. When Adrian, with a face that looked like he was going to cry, hugged him so hard that he couldn’t breathe, Damian, who had been holding him for a while, was the first to come to his senses, feeling relieved that his heart was relaxed. In the meantime, the maids left their seats to take care of the princess’s palace, and Ban and Remina were exchanging greetings with plain faces. Damian said, patting Adrian’s right shoulder, who showed no sign of letting go of his arm.

“Adrian, I’m fine.”

No answer, no reaction. Franz walked up and made eye contact with Damien behind Adrian’s back, grinned, and then turned around again. Damian tapped his motionless shoulder again.

“Adrian, I’m fine. Please let me go.”

This time, Damian grumbled while patting Adrian’s shoulder, who was unresponsive.

“I’m suffocating. Please let me go.”

Only then did Adrian, who had released his arms and looked down at Damian’s face and smiled sadly, notice the blood stains everywhere and his face suddenly hardened. There was blood all over Damian’s white blouse, even on his arms and hands. As Adrian’s face became serious, Damien hastily explained.

“No. It was Ailene who spilled it and I’m fine. I’m not hurt anywhere. That’s true.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“I’m absolutely absolutely fine. What’s it like outside? Is there really a mutiny?”

“I’m curious too, Duke, if you held me until you relaxed, wouldn’t you please clean up after me now?”

When Lemina asked in a casual tone without expression or intonation, only then did things other than Damian enter Adrian’s field of vision. Adrian, who belatedly recognized Ailene lying behind Damian and Princess Lemina who had been standing behind him earlier, patted Damian on the shoulder several times and turned around regretfully.

“It is true that it is a rebellion by the Royal Guard. I will organize the situation outside and send someone over. Damian, please stay here first. I will pick you up in a moment.”

“Yes, don’t worry about me and go.”

Adrian looked back a couple more times and left the princess’s palace. He left behind troops to dispose of the body and headed toward the main castle.

* * *

The state of the castle was miserable. The main castle was a place where major facilities, including the king’s residence, office, and conference room, were gathered, and many people lost their lives. Everyone who had stood in the way of the rebels, including servants and maids, including several nobles who had been in the palace since lunchtime for an audience, were killed. Since this was committed by the Royal Guard who were supposed to protect the king, there was not even a trace of proper resistance. The bodies of the king and queen were found in the king’s bedroom. Perhaps it was the bedroom he had fled from, but the door was broken and tattered, and the bodies of dozens of servants were piled up in front of the bedroom. And the queen was dead on the bed, and the king was dead on the bedroom terrace. As the capital army with a miserable look on its face was collecting the body, servants and maids who had been hiding from the royal guards appeared one by one to help. The king and queen died. Of course, the treason incident that has already occurred will quickly lead to war. Cale, who had headed for the back door, and Homer, led by the crown prince, came to the main palace at the same time. Homer, who managed to steal the crown prince in the nick of time, mobilized all the members of the ‘King’s Eye’ and played hide-and-seek with the royal guards. When it became known that the capital army had broken through the outer walls faster than expected, the captain of the 2nd Guards, who was in charge of assassinating the crown prince, eventually gave up his mission and headed toward the back gate, but encountered Cale. Most were killed and some were taken prisoner. The 1st Guards, who were in charge of the king and queen, completed their duties without hesitation and left the palace early. And the 2nd Guards, which was divided in half, was blocked by Cale while chasing the crown prince, and the other half killed the 2nd princess Cecilia in the queen’s palace and then went to the 1st princess’ palace and was wiped out.

She was barely able to continue my weak breathing. The capital city was naturally in a state of total emergency. Since Adrian could not leave the main palace, Cale went to his headquarters carrying the heavy orders. Everyone gathered in the conference room with dark faces, except for the crown prince, who was distraught.

“Almost all the nobles who support Dozern and Hubie have left Midok, but I think we will have to postpone the funeral until we are sure that Midok is completely safe.”

“I don’t expect a state funeral just because the capital is safe.”

Remina received Adrian’s words. Adrian looked into Lemina’s eyes and sighed.

“Since you are guessing, I will tell you. There are circumstances that indicate that Dorzern headed to the headquarters of Romanov’s National Guard. Taln’s military deployment to the US border has already ended, and it is not surprising if a war breaks out at any time.”

“This is what will happen in the end. The front will be divided into the National Guard and the Taln Army.”

As Adol spoke with a distraught face, Adrian nodded his head heavily.

“That side is much more difficult to deal with, so anyone with a brain would do that. The exact size of the military is not known, but it is estimated that approximately 20,000 Taln troops participated and a similar number of National Guard troops participated.”

“What is the maximum number of people we can prepare?”

“Under the assumption that the remaining nobles cooperate, we estimate that the capital army, including reserve forces, will be about 20,000 and 2,000 private soldiers.”

At Adrian’s answer, the complexions of everyone sitting around became even darker.

“There will be no state funeral. As the head of the royal family, I will skip all the ceremonies as much as possible and proceed simply. Summon all the nobles to a royal meeting tomorrow morning. If Tyrellius does not come to his senses, I will preside over it.”

“Would you please?”

“Someone has to do it.”

Remina made a bitter face. The meeting ended briefly, and the layout of the capital’s royal palace was completed. Adol returned to the mansion, and Remina read the reports Adrian gave her with a frightening intensity. While Damian guarded Ailene’s bed, Adrian quickly cleaned up the entire inner palace. He sent a force in pursuit of the 1st Guards, which had already fled, but it seemed difficult to prevent him from joining the National Guard since he had already left Midoc. First, they had to resolve the chaos in Midok and unite the power of the remaining nobles. Even if preparations for war started now, it is already too late. As the sun was setting and dusk was approaching, the flag rose at the palace. A dispatch was sent to each noble family, and an official notice announcing the death of the king and queen was posted throughout Midok, where rumors had already spread.
