Supporting Characters Also Need Some Love

CHAPTER 1: THE SUPPORTING ROLE IS ALSO QUITE DIFFICULT (II)

Part 003

For a while after that, she woke up, ate and studied, and spent the days eating and studying.

Almost living in the common study in her mansion, Jenny, her exclusive maid, cried or not, she threw off her dress and walked around like a destitute wearing only her thick chemise and gown. It’s a very familiar daily life to her, but it must have been unconventional there, so it’s about a couple of times that the Root class stopped by for a cheering car and then went back without saying a word.

The test subjects were five including Common Language, Kingdom History, Kingdom Geography, Mathematics, and Liberal Arts. In mathematics, the highest level of difficulty was calculating fractional operations, area, and volume, so she only looked at past questions and threw them away. Thanks to that, she thought she would only have to do it once.

It was all about memorizing the name of the kingdom, the name of the region, the name of the river, the name of the mountain, and the specialties of each region. There was no race as specialized as Korean students in memorizing and pouring them into test papers. She just had to memorize it over time. However, even if it was the same memorization subject, Kingdom History was really crazy.

Were Nebusi III and Nebusi XIII both named Helena? What if the Caravan Duke of the Galleon family, the Caravan Duke of the Nodovan family, and Poi were the Caravan Marquis and the mobile era? There were over a thousand people with the same or similar names, so it is inevitable to go crazy.

Three problems were put into practical form. One year, making tea, playing the piano, and ballroom dance came out. What were the basic qualifications of an official at Laurentyne?

A commoner who passed that test was truly a superhuman. He’s a superhuman who could do anything. While in Korea, she grew up as the daughter of Count Boon, who would have been able to unify North and South Korea. This was a level where your hands become front feet when you just hold a brush.

Asking for knowledge of abstraction would be unreasonable in this day and age, and they said that she just needed to pass two of the new problems, so she could only hope that nothing related to magic would come out or only one problem would be pass.

Her birthday was the 67th day of spring, and shortly after her coming-of-age ceremony, on the first day of summer, the administrative exam was held. Today was the 13th day of winter, Lady Philia’s birthday. Preparing for the coming-of-age ceremony would take a long time, so she was busy, but today she was kidnapped by maids since the morning.

She couldn’t even go to the study, and she was washed and dried and sat in front of the dressing table. As it was the birthday party for the eldest daughter of the Galleon family, the daughters and wives of noble families of the royal family should attend without exception. The last time she saw Ailene was around the 70th day of the house.

She was able to focus on her studies because she didn’t even receive a letter. However, there was no contact at all, so she was worried again, so she had to attend one way or another today.

With fine-grained brown hair half-braided up and hanging down below her shoulders, wearing a light blue dress similar to the color of her eyes and being dressed up by seasoned ladies-in-waiting, she was quite pretty. Ailene’s fraudulent face came to mind for a moment, but- Hey, what’s wrong, as long as she was pretty in her eyes, that’s fine.

After a long time, she entered the galleon with a feeling of being fully upgraded. At the entrance of the enormous mansion, an invitation was issued and when we entered the party hall, there were already quite a number of people gathered in groups of twos and threes even though they arrived on time.

Philia, the host and main character, greeted her.

“It’s been a while, Lady Damian.”

“It’s been a while, Lady Philia. I heartily congratulate you on your 19th birthday.”

Philia smirked, shaking her lush auburn hair. Her red lips and rather dark but very well matched eye make-up made her smile. She was a red, burning beauty with a savage feel. Even though she was only two years older, the smell of an adult woman hit her.

“Thank you. I hope you have a great time.”

She meant to enjoy it. She said that there was no need to mix things up anymore. If Ailene’s guess was correct, she was the girl she almost killed, wasn’t she? What could she do but pretend? They parted laughing.

After looking around the corridor, she found Ailene with other young ladies on one side and approached her.

“Ailene.”

Oh, my. Ailene, looking back, was so dazzled that she almost closed her eyes. She smiled brightly and clasped her hand.

“Damian!”

“How have you been doing?”

“I missed you so much, Damian. Everyone, this is Count Damian’s daughter. I’ve told you many times, right? After that, we became very close.”

Ailene introduced her to the group with a bright smile. Quite a number of young ladies greeted her warmly, as if she had made a lot of friends. She was exchanging greetings with young ladies of her age, when she heard a voice from behind.

“Ailene.”

Ailene looked back and took a step back.

“Lillian.”

The voice had already become intimidated.

As for Lillian, she was Ailene’s half-sister. Even so, she heard many times that she was very intelligently harassing Ailene with her mother, who was only a few months apart.

She raised her chin proudly despite her small stature and looked down at Ailene.

“You found it.”

She interrupted while Ailene hesitated and searched for an answer. That’s what she asked for torturing her friend so much.

“Oh my God, Ailene. You said you were very close to your sister, so you’re right?”

Everyone stared at the sudden sound, and Ailene called her name with her puzzled face.

“Damian?”

“You can see how close they are usually. I was envious the whole time I was talking about them because I don’t have any sisters.”

Covering her face with her fan, she laughed hohoho. She made fun of Lillian’s rudeness, and her face turned red in an instant. Some of the young ladies in Ailene’s group agreed and held her fan together, saying, ‘That’s right.’, ‘She’s a good sister.’ etc., provided support fire. Lillian took one look at her and then she left her words with Ailene and turned away.

“Mother is looking for you. Sister.”

After Ailene went in the direction where Lillian disappeared, and Damian talked for a long time with her remaining young ladies sharing her comradeship. While they were talking, they were looking at the time, saying that we should leave soon, but the entrance became noisy, and a bright-eyed young lady lowered her voice to explain the situation.

“It’s the Crown Prince.”

“Oh, His Highness the Crown Prince has come all over the place. I heard that the Galleon family also included marriage talks, so I guess it’s true.”

The other young lady next to her lowered her voice as well. She listened intently to their conversation.

“Then what about Lady Ailene? Which of the two of them will you marry?”

“Well…. I’m  sorry for the two of them. I don’t know how lucky I am that I’m not on the list.”

It was Lady Laurel of the Countess of Madeira. Everyone was taken aback by her bold statement, but soon the rest was nodding their heads in agreement.

She asked after watching Philia magnify the crown prince so affectionately.

“Lady Philia seems quite ambitious, doesn’t she?”

“Well… he is the crown prince after all?”

Laurel said.

Seeing the young lady shrug her shoulders and reply, she got out of the group and went around the hall looking for Ailene. Then, in a corner, for some reason, he found Ailene with the Crown Prince. The Crown Prince was talking, and Ailene looked embarrassed. What was it? The Crown Prince grasped Ailene’s wrist.

‘Spit on it, Ailene! Slap him on the cheek!’

Show Chunhyang’s resolve!! IShe cheered hard, but Ailene was at a loss for what to do with a reddened face. Ah-oh. What if your cheeks turn red there? What she had to do was fight him.

“I’ll be thrilled.”

Hiding behind the pillar, covering her body and biting down on a fan, she charged towards Ailene. She couldn’t get out of it because she didn’t like Ailene’s personality, and she thought it would be difficult to be caught by the terrible crown prince. She had to save her anyway.

“Ailene.”

Pretending to be happy, pretending not to see the crown prince, when she called her, Ailene and the crown prince turned around at once and hurriedly lowered their heads.

“Your Highness, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were with her, Eup! I am Lady Ailene’s Woowook.”

“It’s okay… are you okay?”

As she covered her mouth and sighed, Tyrellius took a step back, furrowing his brow.

“Um, Damian?”

She winked at Ailene and bowed her head deeper, keeping her mouth shut.

“Your Highness, step back, woah.”

Then, in case someone catches it, she went into the hallway. Thinking that was enough and that Ailene would make an excuse and get out. Since she had already left, she went to the garden to get some fresh air.

Soon the sun had set. Rootban and her father arrived a little later, and when the second part of the party began, the young ladies and young gentleman before the coming-of-age ceremony had to go back. Seeing the moon rise, she guessed she would just have to hold on a little longer.

After sitting on the garden bench for a while, Ailene didn’t come out. Maybe she didn’t know if Damian was in the garden and was looking for her elsewhere.

She would be back soon, but it had been a long time since she met her and she couldn’t talk properly. As she was about to get up to look for her, a shadow fell in front of her.

“Now it’s time for the garden to become dangerous.”

What kind of person rises without a sign? She was startled and just as she was about to stand up, she slammed her butt on the bench.

“It’s not a good place for a young lady to be alone.”

He said so and reached out his hand. No, but she was just about to enter? It was he who surprised her and sat down. She stood with my back to the light, unable to see his face at all, but politely bent over and held his outstretched hand. She got up and tried to remove his hand, but he wouldn’t let go. She looked up at his face to check his eyes, but it was still dark.

“Are you feeling better inside?”

Not a question. There was a hint of laughter in his voice. She thought she saw him stumble in front of Tyrellius earlier.

“It’s about to get worse again.”

As she grumbled in her piercing voice, he let go of her hand and took a step back. It’s not a situation where the side face reflected in the light would make you feel nauseous. The crown prince also had a polished face, but what kind of face would this person have? She was stunned by the ecstatic beauty for a while, but a handsome man with a kind face told her the situation.

“Oops. I guess it’s because I’m not the friend you had been waiting for. It’s a pity, but your friend couldn’t escape from His Highness the Crown Prince.”

“Yes? Why?”

“His Highness asked me for a young lady who was by his side. And the princess of the duke couldn’t leave.”

“Eh? Are you saying she is being held captive by His Highness the Crown Prince?”

“It didn’t look like it was being held.”

That was not for him to say. Tsk.

“There is no reason to be like this any longer. I’ll go in. Thank you.”

“…would you mind giving me your name?”

“Yes.”

Her immediate answer seems to have taken a bewildered handsome man. Did he think that because he was handsome she would want to take him home? Of course no, because this young lady was now  a student. And students taking the exam were not losing virtue. Could he not know her heart?

Sobbing.

The man chuckled. He was kinder when he smiled.

“Okay.”

Then he turned his back and walked in front of her, taking just one step in front of her to match her pace and entering the mansion. And when she entered the hall, he left a greeting and disappeared somewhere. Even the back was not friendly.

Ailene, after returning, was sitting with the Crown Prince and chatting. Still looking stiff and uncomfortable, she was watching to see if she should go get it again, but it seems like she didn’t like it or not? If even the smiley face was so beautiful, wouldn’t it be easy not to be mistaken in front of you? Oh, isn’t it? Was she just laughing? No, she told her to slap him. Why was she sitting across from him and smiling?

“It seems that Lady Ailene is not very motivated either.”

It was Lady Laurel, who had been watching the same thing from the side when she came.

“I want to deny it, but it won’t be easy.”

She answered with a sigh.

* * *

After Philia’s birthday party, she locked herself in the study again. In the end, she couldn’t say goodbye to Ailene and went out. She didn’t even get a reply to the letter she sent. Before going to sleep, she sent a letter every time she thought of it, but as the new year approached and the amount of study increased, sending unanswered letters became rare.

Jenny, who endlessly insisted on dressing properly, seemed to have given up after seeing her secretly tying her hair with a curtain string in the study. Watching the perfect poop head land on the top of her head every morning, she thought for a moment that this was a waste of talent.

Adol, the kingdom history teacher, who used to be surprised by her increasingly lazy appearance, was more and more surprised by her crazy memorization skills, so he became more and more motivated. And after meeting me in the hallway in front of the study, her father, who had only looked after her, cautiously dissuaded her from saying, “Is everything okay?”

She missed her jersey tracksuits and three-line traps so badly that she compromised herself by working hard on her bare hands for two hours a day for her health. The rare time she met Jenny’s eyes while lying on her stomach and kicking up her hind legs to do the yoga she had learned when she was intoxicated on the bed was embarrassing, but what could she do? Jenny, the wonderful maid who got used to her quirks, didn’t even ask what she was doing. She’s like a cool older sister, so that’s their synergy. Since it is a place where a year is 400 days, 100 days per season, there were about 100 days left. A New Year’s banquet was done in the royal family when she should be concentrating on last-minute cleanup but she couldn’t miss it. The year-end party and other small gatherings continued, and with her father’s permission, they were all omitted, but there was no way to hold the New Year’s party from the first day of spring. So on the last day of winter, the maids of the Etihad family organized the kidnapping team again. The target was, of course, her. Surprisingly, the background was her brother. There was no one to trust in the world.

She was washed in the bath three times today alone. It’s been soaked in a slippery syrup-like bath for an hour, like strawberry jam. Airlifted under the protection of Rootban, the on-dress fit her very well. However, in the eyes of the ladies-in-waiting was not and the six ladies-in-waiting went into the final dressing, swinging their needles like long swords. Jenny, who was holding something to put on Damian’s hair on one side, smiled brightly when her eyes met.

She somehow glows. Damian felt so sorry for the beads of sweat on her forehead that had accumulated a lot. After the exam, she would go around like a person, no, like a young lady as Jenny wanted. For now she decided to keep her mouth shut and keep dozing off.

I can’t even be mad at Ailene for having a weak will and a soft mental state 😩

She grow up being compared all her life and even after transmigrating she doesn’t have someone on her back. Damian is there obviously, but with a difference in status. There is only a little she can do 😭😭😭
