Suddenly, her vision blurred. She felt like she was being pulled somewhere, causing her body to lean backward.
Then, the moment she opened her eyes, she had to bite her lip to stop herself from screaming.
“Ack! Where did you take me!”
A gust of wind brushed past her cheek. Her hair swirled wildly as if caught in a whirlwind.
When she regained her composure, Agnes realized she was at the top of the castle’s pinnacle.
Even a slight sway made it feel like she could plummet straight down.
A flock of winged demons was screeching fiercely not far away.
Below the castle walls, knights and soldiers were shouting.
“W, Why are we here?”
Agnes gasped for breath. The sharp cold and fear made her body tremble involuntarily.
“Why?”
Eugene spoke with a very affectionate smile.
“You possess half of my power, Agnes. Do you know what that means?”
Without warning, he grabbed her chin. Despite his sweet face, his touch felt chilling.
“It means you can flick away these demons with just one of your fingers.”
Eugene seized Agnes’s right arm, forced her palm open, and pointed towards the demons.
“Do as I say.”
He whispered in her ear.
[Defresio]
Agnes struggled not to bite her tongue. The demons circled around in flight.
[Defresio]
There was no need to ask “How?” – it was clear.
As soon as she intended to speak, words that were not in human language naturally popped out of her mouth.
A white light exploded.
Squeak!
The demon that was leisurely flying in the sky let out a long scream and crashed to the ground.
Dozens, if not hundreds, of them fell with a thud, making a collective noise.
Agnes instinctively closed her eyes. When she opened them again, a miracle unfolded before her eyes.
From below, a mix of screams and cheers could be heard.
“Ugh.”
At the same time, Agnes felt a terrible pain as if someone was digging through her intestines.
It was almost too painful to open her eyes. Tears flowed uncontrollably.
The pain was so intense that she couldn’t even scream. Agnes gasped for breath.
“Oh, it hurts.”
Agnes said through tears. Eugene, on the other hand, laughed.
“It’s because you’re not used to using my power yet.”
“Heukk”
Is Laslo okay?
Even in excruciating pain, Agnes’s only concern was Laslo’s well-being.
She wiped away the tears with the back of her hand and tried to find him in a pile of Lequi corpses.
From afar, she could faintly see the figure of Laslo.
She worried about whether he was seriously injured or not.
Feeling it was futile, Agnes reached out towards him.
Whether it was a delusion or not, she felt like their eyes met.
“Laslo?”
Agnes took a step forward, forgetting that she was on the top of the pinnacle.
Then Eugene quickly snatched her arm from behind.
“Let’s go now, Agnes.”
He was smiling so innocently that it was surprising.
Agnes glanced at Laslo’s figure once again and nodded.
“I will do as you say.”
“Good.”
As she nodded, her vision turned upside down.

“Ugh!”
It felt like someone was shaking her body vigorously from side to side. Her head was spinning, and her insides felt like a mess.
Agnes couldn’t even stand properly and staggered. She wanted to vomit right away.
[Are you okay?]
She heard Eugene’s repulsive voice from beside her. Agnes suppressed the urge to scream and opened her eyes.
“Huh?”
She forgot her annoyance and looked around. The place where Agnes stood was a flower garden. Beautiful flowers of color swayed every time the wind passed by.
The scent flowed deeply into her nose.
[This way]
She heard Eugene’s voice. However, no matter how much she looked around, she couldn’t see him.
“Eugene?”
[This way]
Agnes slowly walked towards the direction where the voice was coming from.
The surrounding scenery was incredibly beautiful, captivating her gaze even as she walked.
“Where are you?”
[Here. This way!]
The voice sounded quite close. Agnes stopped in her tracks and looked around more carefully.
Then, something lightly tapped at her feet.
“Are you Eugene?”
A small, frail-looking brown bird pecked at Agnes’s foot with its beak.
Agnes reached out to the bird. The bird quickly climbed on the palm of her hand.
[Right, it’s me]
“Why do you look like that?”
[This is a place where my power is more restricted. It’s not easy to maintain my human form.]
“Where are we?”
[Up in the sky]
“What?”
She was about to ask for more details.
“How did you end up here?”
A strange man’s voice came from behind. Agnes turned around in surprise.
There stood a white figure.
It was difficult to describe in other words. The man was entirely white, from his head to his skin, clothes, and shoes.
“Climbing up from the sky, and bringing a human with you. You must be truly insane.”
He glared at Agnes with sharp eyes and approached her purposefully.
“W-who are you?”
Taken aback by his demeanor, Agnes took a few steps back.
“That’s none of your business, Human.”
[He’s like the servant of God.]
The response came from above her shoulder. It had a mocking tone to it.
[A mere servant of a god who doesn’t even measure up to a true angel of the gods.]
“Shut your mouth.”
He growled. Agnes stood between them, unable to do anything but remain still.
[Did I say something wrong? Berache. Your humble and filthy blood is different from your other siblings]
“Close your mouth before I rip it apart.”
[You? Me? All you can do is swing a sword.]
As the words ended, a giant sword appeared out of thin air. Berache grabbed the handle of the sword with a menacing expression.
“Come out here right now.”
[I don’t want to. I’ll stay right here]
Agnes developed compassion for a man named as the servant of God, whom she had never seen before.
Eugene tried not to fall off Agnes’ shoulder, while scratching his stomach.
Berache trembled with anger, unable to contain his rage.
He glared as if he would kill the bird on her shoulder, but did not attack Agnes.
“Get out of here.”
[I’ll go even if you don’t tell me. I can’t stand seeing you. It’s disgusting.]
Eugene spoke in an acrimonious tone.
[Approach Berache.]
Two voices were heard simultaneously. One rang directly in Agnes’ head and the other was from the outside.
[Why the hell did your siblings keep you alive?]
[Approach Berache and pretend to collapse. Take the opportunity to pluck a single hair from his head.]
Agnes blinked quietly. Berache, the man in question, was quite far away from her.
[Oh, I got it! They did not kill you because they were reluctant to touch you, right?]
[Approach slowly. So that it won’t look suspicious.]
“Don’t test my patience. Eugene.”
Berache warned with a fierce expression.
Agnes approached him with a relaxed face as much as possible.
“You are a servant of the gods?”
“This is not a place for humans. Go back.”
He looked at Agnes with disapproval in his eyes.
“I would go back if I could.”
She walked slowly and narrowed the gap with him.
Thankfully, Berache had long hair that reached his waist.
“I was forced to come here.”
Agnes shrugged her shoulders. As she began to speak, Eugene clenched his mouth shut.
“But where exactly is this place?”
“The sky.”
Berache replied bluntly.
“The sky? Really, that sky? With clouds?”
“It’s a world inhabited by gods and those under them. How the hell did you get here without knowing anything?”
“I told you. I was brought here against my will.”
Now the distance between the two was about three steps.
“I knew the existence of God, but I didn’t believe It’s real, so it’s amazing.”
Two steps.
“If I return, I must spend some time in the temple. After experiencing something so precious.”
One step.
Berache realized belatedly that the distance between him and Agnes was very close, but Agnes was quicker.
She pretended to lose her footing and knocked herself down towards him. At the same time, she took advantage of the gap and stretched her right hand to hold part of his hair.
A few strands were plucked out with a tearing sound.
[Good!]
The bird on his shoulder flew away. And he devoured the hair that was in Agnes’s hand.
“How dare you!”
Berache roared with anger.
“Good job, Agnes.”
The bird disappeared and a familiar man appeared instead. He stood behind Agnes and hugged her tightly.
“I won’t let you get away with this, Eugene!”
A sword reappeared in the air. Without hesitation, Berache grabbed the handle of the sword and pointed it at Eugene.
