She Was Sent by God

SWSBG Chapter 04

She then boldly placed her hand on Laslo’s chest.

“Princess.”

In contrast, Laslo took a small step back after being startled by Agnes’s action.

“It certainly is warm.”

When touched, he did not leave or frown. He stood firm and looked down at her.

“It is a living person’s body temperature.” Laslo responded directly.

“You’re alive?”

Agnes, still with her hand on the man’s chest, muttering while looking into the void, didn’t seem normal no matter how you looked at her.

“Did you think you married a dead man?”

He wasn’t trying to be sarcastic. But as soon as he finished speaking, she started to cry. Laslo, who was faung Agnes, was greatly taken aback.

“Why are you crying all of a sudden, Princess?”

“Clearly, you… you were dead. Your limb, your arm was hanging on a pole. Huff. Y-Your arm….”

The man, who had never in his life comforted a crying woman, had no idea how to deal with her crystal clear tears. Laslo pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket as quickly as he could and awkwardly wiped her cheeks.

“Don’t cry.”

“Why did you do that? Why did you do it for me? Why?”

Agnes cried incessantly as she said something he couldn’t figure out. Her sobs were so hot they burned his chest.

“What did I do?”

The marriage was decided overnight by the King’s order. When Laslo received a letter ordering him to wed the Princess, he was so furious that he tore it to pieces. Even though his partner was a princess from the royal family, he could not feel happy about being forced to marry against his will. It was nothing more than a coercive order disguised as a marriage proposal. Additionally, the bride who arrived in Sutmar was too small and short. He was furious with the King for sending such a small woman away.

Laslo didn’t know how to handle her.

“Are you alright?”

She looks even more pitiful when she sobs due to her thin body. As time passed, Agnes seemed to calm down and stopped crying.

“I’m sorry for showing you such an ugly sight. Duke Arpad.”

“It’s the first night of our marriage, so it’s natural to be nervous.” He spoke politely.

“First night?” With wet eyes, she questioned.

“Yes. Since we had the wedding today, it’s our first night. Don’t worry. I had no intention of spending the night with the princess anyway.”

“Why?”

Her question made Laslo feel embarrassed. Naturally, he assumed that the Princess would be pleased to hear that. But contrary to what he had anticipated, Agnes spoke while looking straight at him.

“We’ve completed the marriage ceremony; am I not your wife now?”

“Yes, that’s true, but…”

He was unsure whether to continue speaking. Agnes scowled and questioned him.

“What is it?”

“You’re too small,” he said.

“What?”

Laslo replied with a sigh. “It’s obvious that you’re not yet an adult; don’t worry, Princess; you’ll grow up soon.”

Instead, he consoled the Princess. Agnes’ cheeks flushed red at the sound of that. She was aware that compared to the other women, her body was not as full. However, it wasn’t too frail or little to be mistaken for a child.

“I’m, I…..”

In terms of height and size, Agnes at least fit the royal family’s average range.

“It’s still too soon to tell you what happens between a man and a woman.”

He nodded understandingly. Agnes trembled with embarrassment and anger.

Seeing her reaction, Lasto innocently asked, ‘What’s wrong?’

“I’m all grown up. I’m fully grown!” She screamed angrily.

“No, is that true?” He finds it difficult to believe.

Laslo looked around Agnes in disbelief. Agnes let out a frustrated sigh.

“How old do you think I am, Duke Arpad?”

“Uh, sixteen?”

“…………”

Agnes’s expression twisted.

“Seventeen?”

Laslo gave her a quick glance before raising her age. She did not even attempt to straighten her face.

“Although I am six years younger than you, I have reached adulthood.”

She emphasized the slight age difference with force in her voice. In an effort to sound more like an adult, she purposefully toned down her voice.

“What?”

More so than before, Laslo’s eyes trembled.

“No way? You look this small. What in the world did you eat in the palace? Princess, I think you’re mistaken. I don’t think you’re grown enough,”

He asked Agnes with a very serious expression.

“Do you think I don’t know my own age?”

“No. I don’t think you’ve grown enough.”

“I’m all grown up!” Agnes erupted at that point.

“That can’t be true!”

Without realizing it, Laslo also yelled. He walked up to Agnes and spoke gravely, holding her shoulders loosely.

“Keep trying, Princess; perhaps if you eat more meat or vegetables, you’ll grow taller than you are now.”

“Duke, I’m an adult; everything has matured! I’m all grown up; you’re the one who should give up!”

In front of the bed, the two argued. Agnes glared at Laslo while struggling to conceal her gruff breath.

Was that the reason you left on the first night of our marriage?

She had assumed that the reason Laslo left was because he didn’t like her; she never expected him to think this way.

“You said today is our first night, right?” She looked at Laslo straight in the eyes with firm determination.

Three years ago was their first wedding night.

“The wedding ceremony has already concluded, and I’m your bride. I’m ready to accept the Duke as my husband.”

He left, leaving only cold words, which always lingered in her heart and made things difficult for her. Agnes did not want it to happen again.

“That’s..”

“Now, let’s take off our clothes and go to bed.”

We’ve already shared a night together. There was no reason to feel embarrassed by our naked bodies.

Agnes yanked his arm firmly. Laslo’s eyes widened as he was taken by surprise.

“Princess.”

As Laslo remained motionless like a statue, she let go of his arms and made a groping motion toward his waist.

“Oh, right, I can undress myself.”

Her dress, made for the wedding night, was designed to easily come off with just a few touches. Agnes fiddled with the loosely tied knots.

“Are you crazy Princess”

Laslo approached her like a flying beast and grabbed her hands tightly as she reached out to loosen the knot.

“There’s no need to rush.”

His voice was so low it sounded like a growl.

“No, I don’t consider this rushing.”

Agnes shook the hand held by Laslo and looked him straight in the eyes..

“Please release this.”

“Is this your usual behavior?”

Naturally, her first night did not go as smoothly as this. For three years, she felt contempt, shame, and resentment toward her husband. After being ignored by him, Agnes refused to address him by name and remained silent for several months.

She only provided terse responses when she was asked questions. Naturally, the conversation came to an end.

Additionally, Laslo’s rough demeanor contributed to the emotional rift that the couple has experienced since then.

“Why are you acting like this? Don’t we need to undress to spend the night together?”

“Do we have to spend the night together tonight?” Laslo asked.

“What do you mean? You know, it’s a written obligation for a husband and wife to spend the night together.”

“I know, But…”

He bit his lip and refrained from opening his mouth. Agnes became irritated at the sight of it.

“Why are you hesitating? Do you still think I’m not an adult? Even though I’m not good enough in your eyes, I’m a respectable adult and your wife who had made a marriage vow to you,”

“No, not because you’re young…. and you’re not lacking. Instead, I’m the one who is lacking.”

She was about to ask what he was talking about when her body was suddenly lifted off the floor. Laslo snatched Agnes’ waist and lifted her up. When she tried to tell him to put her down, she realized he was going to the beds, so she kept her mouth shut.

“I think we still need time.”

In a flash, she was lying on the bed. Unfortunately, what she had hoped would happen did not. He quickly wrapped a blanket around her. Agnes, who had transformed into a quilt caterpillar, soon realized what was going on and began to struggle.

“What is this?!”

“You must have had a difficult time holding our wedding today, so rest up.”

“I’m not tired. I’m more energetic than ever. Let go of me!”

Wrapped tightly in the blanket with only her head sticking out, it was hard to find the royal dignity in her current state.

Laslo calmly laid out his words.

“Sleep well. See you tomorrow, Princess.”

“Wait. Duke Arpad! Duke Arpad!”

Laslo closed the door, ignoring his bride who anxiously called for him. The bride was left with a red face.
