Crash!

It seemed that something had shattered.

Wen Qingchen and Nangong Yan turned their heads, only to see that the door to the inner chamber had been smashed to pieces, lying on the ground in splinters. The masked man in black combat attire coldly withdrew his hand, his entire being exuding a menacing aura, glaring icily at Wen Qingchen.

Wen Qingchen cleared her throat, thinking to herself, *Why hasn’t this guy left yet? Oh no, he overheard me talking about him.*

She glanced at the sky, then the ground, and even whistled a bit, trying to put on an innocent, clueless expression.

Nangong Yan, however, looked at Yin Chenming with immense sympathy, his face saying, *You poor thing, you really can’t do it.*

Yin Chenming shot a cold glance at the two of them, holding back the urge to hit someone, then strode out.

This time, Yin Chenming truly left.

If he didn’t leave now, he feared he might actually strike a woman.

As soon as he left, the air temperature rose by several degrees, becoming warm again.

Wen Qingchen shook off the goosebumps on her arms. “It was really cold.”

Nangong Yan, in a much better mood, tried to comfort her, “Mr. Chen, don’t mind him. After all, he has… a condition, so his temperament is a bit strange. Just do your best to treat him. As for the door, I’ll have someone repair it.”

Since he was cured, he didn’t care about anyone else!

Wen Qingchen: “…” *Such a sarcastic tone, Young Master Nangong.*

She forced a smile. “Young Master Nangong is absolutely right.”

Seeing her smile, Nangong Yan suddenly remembered that his own condition had been cured by Mr. Chen, and he couldn’t help but blush a little.

“Mr. Chen, you…” *Your smile is so beautiful…*

Nangong Yan was shocked by what he almost said, and quickly swallowed his words, his face turning red as he fell silent.

Wen Qingchen, unaware of Nangong Yan’s thoughts, simply stepped out of the clinic and instructed the guards from the Zhang and Mu families to come in and carry the patient out.

Outside the clinic, not only were the guards waiting anxiously, but the people from Wen’s Medical Clinic were also waiting for news. Even the patients who were waiting to be treated at Wen’s Clinic had followed Wen Zhaoping to come and see what was going on.

When Wen Qingchen instructed the guards to come in and carry the patient out, Wen Zhaoping and the others felt a sense of relief. Then, Wen Zhaoping spoke up, “You must be the renowned healer, Mr. Chen Qing? I am Wen Zhaoping, and I’ve heard much about you.”

Wen Qingchen narrowed her eyes, surprised that her third uncle had come in person.

With a forced smile, she replied, “So you are the current Dr. Wen? I’ve heard much about *you*.”

Wen Zhaoping smiled as well. “A few days ago, some of the younger members of our Wen family acted out of ignorance, causing Mr. Chen Qing some trouble. We sincerely apologize for that, and I’ve come today specifically to make amends.”

Wen Qingchen let out a light laugh. “Dr. Wen, you’re too kind. Every family has a few unruly youths; I understand.”

She seemed to be understanding, but her words carried a subtle mockery. After all, who would believe the excuse of blaming the younger generation every time something went wrong?

Wen Zhaoping wasn’t here to argue, so he cast a meaningful glance at the guards who were filing into the inner chamber, and said with apparent regret, “Mr. Chen, there’s no need to be disheartened. The illness of Young Master Zhang from Mucheng was incurable to begin with. He was heavily poisoned, and the toxin had penetrated his organs. Even an immortal would be unable to save him. So, if the treatment failed, it’s not your fault.”

Wen Qingchen smiled faintly. “Who said it failed?”

Wen Zhaoping’s smile froze. “Are you saying…”

Before he could finish his sentence, the guards came out of the inner courtyard, carrying Young Master Zhang and Mu An.

Young Master Zhang’s complexion had returned to normal, and he was slowly waking up. The first thing he did upon regaining consciousness was instinctively touch his face. “Where am I?”

    Thanks for the chapters!

Kind of strange they carried him out without waiting for him to wake up – what if he’d been misinformed about who, exactly, cured him?

    Stay safe!
