Seeing Wen Xin’s changing expression, the smile on Wen Qingchen’s lips deepened.

In reality, their clinic did have such medicines, including even more precious ones, all sent by Mu An. After the disruption caused by the Wen Family Clinic on their first day of opening, Wen Huan decided to store away these precious medicines to avoid any potential damage from future disturbances.

Mu An had delivered a large amount of valuable medicine. Due to the risk of more trouble from the Wen Family Clinic, Wen Huan had placed all the precious medicines in a basement on the second day after opening. This basement was an abandoned one that had not been used for over a decade, so no one knew about it.

Currently, the medicines in the clinic’s cabinets could hardly be combined to form a complete tuberculosis prescription.

Thus, Wen Qingchen was confident and unafraid, opening all the cabinets boldly. “Feel free to check. Miss Qingchen, isn’t it? Since you’re the daughter of the late Dr. Wen, why don’t you see if any of these medicines match the ones this old man has?”

Wen Xin bit her lip, her face showing discomfort.

The villagers, unaware of the enmity between Wen Xin and Wen Qingchen, urged Wen Xin, “Yes, Miss Qingchen, have a look and see.”

Wen Xin glanced at ‘Chen Qing.’ His confidence meant that the prescription couldn’t be matched. However, precisely because of this, she couldn’t afford to check.

After a moment’s hesitation, Wen Xin suddenly said, “Just because they’re not here doesn’t mean they’re not elsewhere. Perhaps you hid the medicines knowing this old man would come to demand an explanation.”

“Hid them?” Wen Qingchen sneered. “I’d love to hide them. But this morning, when the clinic opened, you all rushed in demanding answers. Did any of you see us hiding any medicine?”

Uncle Que’s face turned pale, shifting from green to white.

Seeing this, the villagers began to doubt, “Could it be a misunderstanding? Uncle Que, did you perhaps pick up the wrong medicine somewhere else?”

Since there was no such medicine in the Sai Hua Tuo Clinic, they couldn’t have prescribed it.

Wen Xin bit her lip hard, never expecting this ‘Chen Qing’ to be so difficult to deal with.

Wen Xin was further taken aback by the fact that their clinic indeed didn’t have such medicine.

It felt as if she’d accidentally swallowed a fly—disgusting and unable to swallow. She took a deep breath, feeling increasingly uneasy, sensing that if this continued, things would only get worse for her.

She took another deep breath and said, “Well… maybe this old man really did misunderstand.”

Upon hearing this, Uncle Que became anxious, “I… I…”

He wanted to insist that the medicine was indeed from this clinic, but since the clinic didn’t have such medicine, his words would be useless. Not saying anything would make it look like he was deliberately causing trouble.

He looked to Wen Xin for help.

Unexpectedly, Wen Xin seemed ready to leave, making Uncle Que even more desperate.

“Wait,” Wen Xin was about to step out of the clinic when a lukewarm voice came from behind, “Miss Qingchen, right? I hear you’re the daughter of the late Dr. Wen, is that correct?”

    More chapters?!
Lol at the four or so chapters of the MC just stringing along the (presumed?) ML, first over the underwear, and then over the communication stone.
I don’t really understand the MC’s instance in keeping it though – it can only be used with one other stone, which she doesn’t have, so even though it’s “rare” it basically has no value. Unless she gets the other one, she can’t use it properly at all.

Thanks for your hard work and stay safe!
